I brought a lost (what is now my cat) there to see if it was chipped and when they let it out of its carrier it was scared and jumped on their table so they figured it was a wild cat and the best thing to do was let it out the window. I didn't allow that, so their options were to either euthanize it or send it to the U of M so they could dissect its brain. I took him home instead and now he is becoming a loving member of our family. I'm truly disappointed in the way they handled things there. They have saved my best friends dog from the brink of death TWICE! Her beagle lived for 15 full years before she (the dog) died. Now she takes her big 7 year old cat Alfred there for checkups. We've€ been bringing our cat here her whole life, she is 19 years of age. We also bring our dog and other kitty here too and never had we had one bad experience here. The staff are very friendly and also knowledgeable. The prices are very decent and the doctors genuinely care about the animals well being. Dr. Dave knows a lot about animals and things that come with having them as a part of the family. He even knew about my rare monitor lizards that we rescued. I have brought in my pets who passed away, just to confirm they are in fact gone. I have received a card in the mail every time for a pets death, just a few days after they happen. I currently am having issues with my cat and it was becoming costly and my vet really worked with me with cost and really gave my car genuine and compassionate care. He is by far the most caring vet I have ever met. He goes on instinct versus just cost and time. He really cares about my cat and wants to give her the best care that he can so she can come home. I do not typically write reviews but am taking the time today to warn others about this vetranarian. I brought my dog in for a tooth extraction, 1 tooth, 7 were pulled. They did not call me for permission. When I picked her up they gave me a handful of teeth and my bill, that of course was beyond what I was told it would cost. I thought this was strange but figured he did the right thing. Shortly after this I had a friend who brought her dog in and was told the dog had bladder cancer and they were given 2 options, very extensive and expensive treatments or death. The friend got a 2nd opinion and her dog had a bladder infection! My sister had a cat that went septic after having surgery performed for removal of kidney stones and called for emergency service because the cat was not doing well and was told " this can wait until Monday ". She ended up in the er with her cat that same night having to put it down. Recently another friend, ended up with his cat misdiagnosed and put on meds that led to the death of his cat. Please check with friends and find a different doctor for your furry friends! Read Less

I brought my dog here to have a tooth extraction, 1 tooth, went to pick her up and 7 teeth were pulled. That would of been fine except that I didn't receive a phone call to ask permission or to talk about the expense. My bill was 500 more than I expected to pay. I know others who have brought their pets here who have also had bad experiences. A lot of misdiagnosis and spendy treatments have been suggested. Luckily some have gone with 2nd opinions but others have had to say goodbye to their furry friend because of misdiagnosis. I have found a new vet and try to continue warning others of this practice. As of today 3/16/2017, my friends cat was misdiagnosed and put on a medication that ultimately killed him. This vet should not have a practice! Brought my kitten in for a spaying yesterday. The entire staff was friendly and helpful from the moment I walked in the door. They called as promised when she was out of surgery! They alerted me to another issue but were not pushy about medications and optional treatments. She smelled great leaving the facility which was also very clean. Dr. Dave is simply the best!!! He has saved 3 dogs for me and made it affordable to do so. A hip from car accident on my little dog ,broken back on another and a half lower jaw removed on my oldest girl. Lost dog. Tried to get her back, they required a dog tag and we were new to the area. They said the allow a $50 desposit and a dog tag to be bought from city hall the next day (my husband was leaving for work). GREAT! we'll do that... ... oh but wait, they said, we only allow a fee to be paid if city hall is closed. You have to go right now and get a licence. My husband said "I'll be late for work, can I give you the deposit and bring it tomorrow? I'll leave you whatever you want as collateral" the response? "Guess you better call your boss then." Even if this is your policy, this is just rude and bad customer service. VERY VERY unhappy. I've lost my dog before (this time a tree hit my house and broke my fence and she wandered off) and it has NEVER EVER EVER been this frustrating. zero stars if I could. Read Less

Our dog was born with congenital knee problems that led to major joint problems. Dr.Abramovicz had to perform major reconstructive surgeries on both knees ( on different years) to enable our dog to walk again. He took excellent care of our dog and made sure that she was comfortable throughout her rehabilitation. Our dog now runs and walks without any problems. I would highly recommend Dr. David Abramowicz. He saved my cat, Muzik's life twice. Last June, he couldnt breathe and was dying. He was found to have a lung tumor. Despite the poor prognosis, Dr. Abramowicz was able to remove the lung and tumor successfully. Eight months later, my poor cat developed another tumor in the liver. Once again, Dr. Abramowicz was able to successfully remove the tumor from the liver. My cat is still alive and happy. We are thankful to have Muzik as long as we have. I brought one of my rats here to get neutered but didn't make it through the surgery due to complications. The staff was EXTREMELY empathetic, and charged me nothing for the surgery and offered to do a cremation for free, plus a free future visit if I ever had to bring my other rats in. I just had a nightmare experience with my dog Lady. She looked like death all of a sudden so we took her to our vet. After spending 1,000 we had no real answers, only questions. I posted on FB about my dogs condition, almost right away a friend called and said get her to SSAH and Dr Dave will take care of her so an hour later we were there. Dr. Dave looked over the other vets data and came up with an allergic reaction to probably a bee sting. We got her a steroid shot and within a couple hours was improving. I think if we stayed with the other vet we would've buried our dog. Dr. Dave in my opinion is THE best vet around!! Read Less
