Watertown Veterinary Clinic

Watertown, Minnesota
General Info
Watertown Veterinary Clinic, located in the heart of the local pet community, is renowned for its thoughtful and thorough approach to animal care. Every pet appointment at Watertown Veterinary Clinic in Watertown is a serene walk-through that provides step-by-step sensory predictability and reassurance to local Minnesota families. Upon arrival, the animals are subjected to check-in observations which involve medical and other checks based on how they respond to scent layers, floor texture, eye contact and movement close by. Clinicians initiate the exam and adjust procedural flow through posture cues and handling feedback. They also adapt for restlessness affecting breath, or resistance, which causes them to slow or pause. Examinations appraise various bodily characteristics, specifically the thickness of the fur coat, the fluid balance in the body, firmness and tone of muscles, eye responses to external stimuli, teeth and gum condition, temperature changes in the animal’s mouth cavity and flexibility of some body parts. Homeowners receive invitations to the discussion about current household tendencies, which minor ritualistic and vocal changes, together with energy flow shifts, provide for subsequent actions. The services at Watertown Veterinary Clinic consist of organized diagnostics and immunizations coupled with pain monitoring and aging wellness programs, as well as coordinated illness mapping. The appointments can be scheduled as single step days or in multiday stages based on what the animal and household emotional bandwidths will allow. Photo logs and diagrams tracking calendars are some of the visual tools used to support communication between visits. Follow-up care isn’t an alert; it’s a conversation. Check-ins are more behavior-based rather than strictly time-based. Pet owners are also instructed to monitor sensory regulation and activity re-entry after outings in order to ensure the pet’s success in cases where the pet withdraws or externalizes after a stimulus-heavy outing. Watertown Veterinary Clinic provides physical and emotional care to the pets of Watertown, MN, by ensuring continuity between respect at home and awareness at the clinic. The practice offers several services including Cardiology, Bloodwork, Emergency Care, Reptile Care, and Avian (Bird) Care. They support the pet from its early years to adulthood and beyond. Pet owners value the team’s expertise, the way they communicate with compassion, and how well medical decisions are explained. The staff strives to establish longstanding relationships by ensuring consistency and authenticity in every facet of the services they provide, whether it is senior pet care or an urgent health issue. Additionally, it educates pet owners and advises them on implementing effective preventive health measures. Because of Watertown Veterinary Clinic’s community involvement, pet owners are more aware and knowledgeable. Both new and returning clients note how the clinic is constantly evolving with modern veterinary practices.

Took my dog in to get neutered and was told they had to keep the dog overnight for monitoring. I asked who stays with the dogs overnight - they said NO ONE. I said, I would rather take him home because if something were to happen, at least I would be able to get him to an emergency vet. They said they would let the vet know my concerns and have him call me. Dr. Scott called me and I tried to explain my perspective, but he said it was - and I quote - "Nonnegotiable." I asked what good it would be to leave the dog there without anyone there - he said that some vets do release the animals, but those vets, and I quote again, "Do not care about the well being of the animals." I said I disagreed with this and he said that this is there policy and I said, "Fine, do not do the neuter." He said to come get my dog than. I called Delano Vet and they said they do not keep the dogs overnight because NO ONE IS THERE AND IF ANYTHING WERE TO HAPPEN, IT'S BEST THEY ARE HOME SO SOMEONE CAN TAKE THEIR ANIMAL TO THE EMERGENCY VET. This is what I strongly agree with. Switching vets and will never return to Watertown Vet, which I'm sure is no worries for them.... Read Less

Called this vet and specifically asked for a specific product and service and was told no problem. Get there and was refused what I wanted. Spent most of the time going over things that was already under control. The vet did help with another issue he was having. Charged $18 to check blood glucose on the same machine I use at home for a $1 test strip. Was told they would call in a couple days to check in on pet, never did. They spam email you at least 3 times a week trying to sell you product. Sold me a product and when I got home I read the ingredients and contained 2 types of sugar. Not ideal for a diabetic cat I'd think. Seems they generally receive good reviews, so it is disappointing that I had a pretty unsatisfactory experience. Read Less
