Florence Animal Clinic

Florence, Mississippi
General Info
Florence Animal Clinic is a veterinary practice located in Florence dedicated to providing comprehensive and empathetic pet care throughout the community. The clinic is located in Florence, United States. The team provides customized wellness plans, routine check-ups, and other curative treatments. Services often encompass Orthopedic Surgery, Preventative Medicine, Mobile Vet Services, Diagnostics, Vaccinations, Nutritional Counseling, and Prescription Medications. These treatments are performed with attention to detail and focus on preventative and responsive care. The clinic is well-equipped and animals are not stressed during visits, which helps to get better diagnosis and treatment results. Clients often point out how understanding and caring the staff is, which helps build long-term trust and communication. Florence Animal Clinic continues to build upon its established reputation as a cornerstone in the Florence pet-owning community. Whether it is helping young pets to start their lives on the right foot or supporting older ones with chronic health problems, the clinic’s professionals are always ready to help. Their passion for animal welfare is evident as they continually seek to expand their knowledge and stay abreast of the latest developments in veterinary medicine. This ensures that every pet receives the best possible care. It also seeks to promote responsible pet ownership and community involvement. Through shared empathy and commitment between their veterinary team and pet owners, Florence Animal Clinic offers pet care to families in Florence and across Mississippi. Before a cat allows an exam, “eye to eye” and “soul to soul” contact is often necessary. The process of moving from one step to another may need to be decelerated, and the dog might require authorization to investigate the tools through sniffing. The clinic’s method is species-specific and emotionally responsive, yet avoids overstimulation and adjusts as needed. This method considers the owners as full and equal partners. When pets come into the clinic, veterinarians use the observations of how they behave at home as part of the clinical input. Through its medical services, the Florence Animal Clinic delivers preventive planning and diagnostics while offering internal medicine, nutritional counseling, dental care, and multi-species senior pet wellness support. The time allocated for each procedure is dependent upon the animal’s ability to remain calm and present. Some pets had their procedures done over the course of several visits, and others were put on plans to help them prepare for everything at once. Exotic animals are handled uniquely to avoid the severe health effects of stress. After medical visits, parents notice these signals and are advised on approaches to prevent pain and how to gauge when normal activities are no longer stressful (Hardesty et al., 2020). Each treatment plan has a rhythm that indicates when it is time to stop, listen and look. Florence Animal Clinic renders veterinary services to pets and families in Florence and other Mississippi areas. The firm adjusts to each client’s temporal needs by paying attention to a patient’s stress indicators and physical ques.

I got charged a $75 dollar emergency fee even though i called the morning of and they said i could come that afternoon after work. I am more than willing to pay for services rendered, but not a bogus fee. There was an additional $45 for a wound cleanse, in which my dog did not get stitches on an open wound that still needs some sort of assistance closing. They shaved around his wounds and his injured leg/foot (all the way down to the top of his toes which also got trimmed) as His leg was swollen and bruised. Their diagnoses was “maybe he got bit by a snake or he has puncture wounds from sticks”. I ended up taking him to another vet because four days later it is worse, even though I administered medicine as directed. The vet i took him to could tell his leg was broken before doing xrays because of THE LOUD CRUNCHING YOU COULD FEEL IN HIS LEG/FOOT AND IN COMPARISON TO HIS OTHER BACK LEG WAS NOTICEABLY CROOKED . I don't even want to imagine the pain my dog was in when you held him down to trim toenails on a broken foot, much less how it felt when you shaved it. Overall, i feel like the staff was rude and I overpaid for my dog to not receive proper medical attention. I do not recommend going to this clinic. Read Less

In response to the previous response sent to my wife from Florence Animal Clinic Point(s) 1) I find it hard to believe FAC (or any modern person) capable of being ignorant to the ease at which cell records can be retrieved. We have accessed our records. NO ATTEMPTS WERE MADE TO REACH US. My correct cell number is on file with the clinic and was verified by your staff. 2) There was NEVER a follow up scheduled visit. (All copies of issued paperwork are available for ANY interested parties). 3) After I took time out of work to drive to Dr. Dye’s office to pick up MY COPY of the prescription (with all needed fax/contact information attached- All copies of issued paperwork are available for ANY interested parties), I was told that, having signed the declination form, all necessary prescriptions would be faxed to our on-line pet pharmacy. 4)Thank you, Vet-tech, for telling me (an experienced Medic) how testing for disease works. At NO POINT during our 3 hour initial visit were we given options on ANY treatments. Your office prescribed a course of testing which OBVIOUSLY would have resulted in the same medication prescribed. (Pro Tip- don’t leave your billing screen up in the exam room while simultaneously adjusting it when the clients can view it in real time) 5) “Dr. Dye was giving you a month prescription of the medication...” Specifically to the person I am responding to... Break out your crayons and your Texas Instruments calculator, because 20 bid, and 30 bid ( bid = twice daily, for those of you not in the medical profession keeping score) doesn’t come close to 30 day/one month of medication (all prescription bottles issued are available for ANY interested parties) 6) “Extended period of time” Could you be more vague? Everything you needed for our pet’s info was still in your database. In closing, I see that Dr. Tammy Dye was either unwilling or incapable of addressing concerns and what appears to be ongoing problems with her staff (hence the reply from an employee, rather than the standing Veterinarian). Hopefully, Florence Animal Clinic can look on this as an opportunity to remove any problem staff and continue forward . Read Less

This will be a pretty long review. You are welcome to read the whole review but I will sum it up by saying we will NEVER be taking our dog back due to the poor service, manipulation, and unprofessionalism exhibited by this clinic (and in particular one technician) that we received over the course of the last 6 weeks. We took our 14 year old dog in with breathing issues and lack of energy. We went in during regularly scheduled hours on Sat. We called to make an appointment at opening and they instructed us to bring her right in. We waited over 2 hours to see the vet. Not once, at any time did anyone check on us, explain why others were called ahead of us, or even speak to us. Once we were called back, Dr. Dye examined her for 5 minutes, diagnosed her with a heart murmur and said the tech would be back to talk with us about treatment. The tech came back and read from a computer screen that our dog would need tests to confirm the diagnosis, meds, etc. for a total of roughly $600. We declined the tests. The tech stated that she would have to talk to the Dr. and then left. She left her computer screen up when she left. We saw the charges for all the tests disappear as we watched. However, the meds stayed the same. When she came back, she informed us we owed $200 for the visit and the meds. We found it interesting that the dog would get the same medication without the tests as she would with them...at the cost of $400 additional dollars. The medicine was dispensed with 20 of one pill and 30 of the other (both being taken twice a day) which meant we’d run out of one before the other. This made no sense because we were told she’d be on them indefinitely.. Part of the bill was a $100 emergency charge, which we did not understand since they have regular operating hours on Saturday. However, we were ready to leave and didn’t protest. We did ask about getting a prescription but were told by the tech they would keep it on file. (I did give one star because our dog has improved with the medicine.) That was an ordeal, but it gets worse. When we tried to order her meds from a reputable online pharmacy at half the cost of the vets office, it was ridiculous. The company faxed the prescription request to the clinic. After several days waiting, we called the company who stated they hadn’t received it back. We called the clinic, who said they had it but refused to fax it to the company. When we spoke to the same tech she said she’d been trying to call us for days to tell us to come pick it up. Complete untruth. In the age of caller ID, you can’t really tell people that. We picked it up and signed the paperwork they said needed to to be signed in order to fax AND then they still didn’t fax it. Called the next day, was told they couldn’t fax it. The next day, my husband called, left a message and was assured someone would call back. They did not. He called the next day and the tech he spoke with told him they were going to fax it right then. She immediately called the company and told them it would have to be mailed. Husband called back and was pretty angry. He spoke with the tech who informed him they couldn’t fax it because we hadn’t brought our dog in for a scheduled follow up appointment. There wasn’t EVER one scheduled. At this point, he asked to speak with Dr. Dye. He was put on hold for 10 minutes. Then the tech came back and said Dr. Dye was unavailable but would be happy to talk to him on our next visit. He politely let the tech know there would not be a next visit. I put the prescription in express mail ($25) out of my pocket! Unbelievable! Bottom line, dishonest tech, poor service. Got the feeling that we received this treatment because we weren’t purchasing the medication from them. They did not seem the least bit interested in whether or not our dog got her meds. They did not ask if she was out of meds, close to being out, or about her well being at all! Read Less

Sad. Took my sick puppy. Everybody was nice except for the tech who walked up to me and said what he had, that it would be between $350 and $400 for treatment or my only other option was to take him home and he'll die. I didn't have that so I said I'll just have to take him home. They didn't offer a payment plan, tell me who could do it cheaper or anything. When I was leaving after paying for the lab tests the receptionist let me know that the Vet said since I paid in full for the tests that if I signed over all rights to my puppy she would "take care" of him. I love y'all & y'all are always so good with my babies, but, I need to make a suggestion. Y'all should go ahead & change your times on Monday-Friday to 8am until 5:45 or 5:50pmbecause twice now, I have gotten there before 6pm to get my babies' some Trifexis & you are already locked. The 1st time there were still cars there, but today, not a one. Just saying. I still love y'all & I will see you around 2:15 tomorrow. Read Less

Gee..... Thanks but no thanks. Read Less

Service has really gone down hill since Dr. Best left. They want a $200 deposit if you pet isn't a already a patient. They seem to care more about the money than the animal.
