Vet misdiagnosed pet with pancreatitis after giving a history of bone ingestion . Did not do a cxr ( against national guidelines) and proceeded to continue treatment despite worsening condition. Upgraded antibiotic without culture results( against national vet consensus guidelines ) My pet almost died , and was admitted to ms vet hospital with foreign body in esophagus , perforation , mediastinitis and pus in thorax (multi drug resistant strain .)He had emergent foreign body removal , bilateral chest tubes and a feeding tube placed. After $8000 bill and a5 day ICU stay , he is home with a long road ahead with additional vet expenses and monitoring required. This vet’s negligence and incompetence ( Dr Strudivent and Dr Haven) led to malpractice and harm to my pet both physically and me financially. My pet was admitted and given fluids and medicines by Dr Stridivent early on , and he never thought to do more tests and actually discharged him on a Friday afternoon saying he was better ! He refused to do additional testing when I asked him to 5 days later when my pet was groaning and in distress. Finally on Wednesday before Thanksgiving, I refused to take dog home and Dr Johnson was only one who said we need to go to MS Vet hospital and referred us. I am a physician and I know that although these vets( Strudivent and Haven) did not have mal-intent, they were incompetent ,negligent , committed imalpractice and nearly killed my pet as a consequence. Many families would not have had $8000 to spend on their furr baby ,and their pet would be six feet under today . Beware and choose your vet carefully. I would never want this to happen to someone else’s loved one. I agree we are all human and make mistakes in diagnosis ,but to not follow national guidelines and be so stubborn and arrogant when the family is telling you something is wrong is unforgivable in my books Read Less

Dropped our dog off to go on a short vacation to six flags and rangers game. When we get back to pick up our dog my fiancé and I both noticed the area where the dogs were walked looked like a jungle. We go in pay for the stay and wait. Finally our dog is brought out and the lady tells us "sorry for the wait your dog has a cut on his paw but the vet checked it and he's ok." "It must have just happened?" I noticed on his white legs how dirty he was as we had just gave him a bath three days prior. Take my dog out to the truck (it had rained earlier that day) he immediately runs straight to the puddle drinking the hot water and won't budge! The only time he has acted this way is when we walk him. Who knows how long it's been since he's been watered. We get him home feed, water and let him and my 7 year old son play the rest of the afternoon. During the night he has a major accident in his crate, not putting any fault on the clinic but he's never done it before and thought it was kinda strange that it happens the first night he's back home. Now I wonder if that was dirt on his legs or something else. I decided to wake up early this morning and go check things out myself from the gas station parking lot. The two young men were out walking the dogs in the jungle this morning. One of them had on knee high boots, I'm assuming he didn't like the wet tall grass or possibly he's scared of snakes? Then the two dogs he was walking were both very excited to be out of their crates as mine would be also. He was snatching them around like rag dogs, both being larger dogs. Maybe if you are letting dogs out to do their business you should consider how excited they will be to get out of a crate and just do one at a time. I know mine would be more worried about playing with the other dog than going to potty. Sorry for the rant but thought others should know. Read Less

Dr. Sturdivant is exactly what you look for in a good veterinarian.
