I have been taking my hairy child to Dr. Austin for about 6 years now. His staff is professional & caring & I like Dr. Austin's style. After examining your dog, he tells you in medical terminology what is wrong, then pulls out an illustrated medical book & explains exactly what that means & how it is affecting your pet. He then tells you from the least invasive to the most invasive - what your treatments options are and what he suggests. He isn't quick to jump to the worst case like so many others & doesn't sugar coat it either. I highly recommend ridgeland pet clinic. Read Less

We have taken our Italian Greyhound to be borded at Ridgeland Pet Clinic twice now and will not be back. The first time we took him we asked them to give him whatever immunizations he was behind in. Before I went to pick Mario up I called to make sure they knew when I was coming so they would have time to give him a bath. The lady said ok and hung up the phone. She called me back a few min. later and said that they couldn't give him a bath until after they opened back up after lunch because of something about doing it after they gave him his immunizations. I told her that I did not understand why they hadn't given him immunizations earlier in the during his 4 days he was there and why they had waited until the day I was picking him up. I told her no bath was fine but I was still going to be picking him up in the next 2 hours. Well when I get to the vet, the same girl informed me that he didn't need any shots until December. I asked her ok, so why couldn't you give him a bath. Then her story changed to "Oh well your husband said no bath". He certainly did not. Well we took him again to bord over night while we were out of town (because it is only $13; now I know why). I told her when I took Mario in Thursday I wanted him bathed and his nails trimmed and I made sure she knew that I would be back EARLY FRIDAY MORNING! This morning I went to pick him up an hour after they open. The girl at the front desk informed me that they did not have time to give him a bath. She then informed me that they hadn't clipped his nails either. I told her that I thought they would do that the day before since she knew I was coming first thing this morning to get him. The Dr came out and apologized for the lack of communication and said they would do a better job next time. Well I'm afraid there will not be a next time because when they brought my sweet Mario out around the corner he was COVERED IN POOP!!! Honestly?? You couldn't even have the decency to wiped him down with a wet wash cloth?? Absolutely ridiculous and disgusting!!
Oh and also they know NOTHING about trainers in the area. Not very informative vets. They didn't even weigh him during his first visit/check up. Read Less

Our visit to Ridgeland Pet Clinic was the best ever. The staff was friendly and helpful and Dr. Austin was the great. We have found a second home for our pet.

I like this clinic because it is small, and I see Dr. Austin every time I go in. He answers all my questions and has even called to check on Jack (my jack russell terrier) after we've been in.
