Senatobia Animal Hospital

Senatobia, Mississippi
General Info
Senatobia Animal Hospital located in Senatobia treats every appointment as a choreographed sequence where touch observation and sound are introduced solely upon pet approval while serving families throughout Mississippi. Upon arrival pets gain permission to investigate their environment. The process embraces scent-mapping along with slow movements and selective engagement as integral elements. The clinical team observes the animal's responses to floor texture variations and ceiling acoustics while monitoring its reaction to vertical presence. Every visit emerges uniquely distinct as some start with gentle palpation while others commence through visual exams or social acclimation. Pet owners receive invitations to disclose information about their pets' preferred resting spots along with the sounds their pets avoid and the altered rhythms of their mealtime schedules. Senatobia Animal Hospital offers services such as injury evaluation immune system diagnostics muscle elasticity checks sensory aversion handling and chronic illness co-management. Examination configurations shift according to breathing patterns, freezing indicators, visual interruptions, and limb retractions. Every exam room features equipment for immediate adjustment including movable stools, variable lighting systems, and optional barriers to minimize visual distractions. The caregiving process reaches its conclusion not with the procedure but through decompression. The opportunity for pets to adjust their orientation is provided before they exit. Behavioral pacing guides provide owners with intricate instructions on timing for stimulus reintroduction alongside indicators for emotional delays and physical discomfort, including when to offer food or touch. Senatobia Animal Hospital collaborates with pets from Senatobia and nearby Mississippi regions to guarantee that each visit phaseβ€”entry followed by treatment then recoveryβ€”aligns with animals' understanding of movement space and order.

On March 14 my husband and I were going out of town, We kenneled our two poodles with the Senatobia Animal Hospital. On March 17 we came back and went to get our dogs. When they brought our dogs out, our youngest poodle had a cough, hes a bit of a barker so we figured kennel cough, barking along with the other dogs. This was on Saturday they close at 12.00 P.M., so all day he still had a cough but he was drinking alot of water which I thought was helping his throat, the hoarsness. On Sunday morning we woke up to our precious poodle dead, I believe he caught something in this shelter, I dropped a healthy dog off and got a sick one back. On Sunday went to shelter spoke to Dr. Slocum, said he been out all week, no idea whats going on.Went back Monday morning to get answers and all we got was they were tired of my attitude. They gave me my 60.00 back for kenneling my dogs and sent me away. The place has to be infected, you don't drop off a healthy dog and after picking him up he died within 24 hours of their care. I kept him alive for over 14 years, they killed him in 4 days. I miss my Apollo....... Read Less

I have been going to Coldwater and Senatobia office for 25 year's Dr. Slocam and Dr. Gordon have saved many dog's and horse's in this length of time. They treat all of my animal's with love and compassion, the staff at both office's are wonderful and caring. Also Dr. Brian is very good they all care so much for each animal ,and I am a animal lover how they put up with me when I am concerned about one of my animal's is a job in it's self lol. I will never go anywhere else I have seen them help my animal's when I didn't think they would make it and they saved them. Dr. Slocam has a cemetery at his place where he buries animals for people free. I have never seen compassion like that from any vet they all care very much and are excellent vet's to my animal's. I never get to meet the veterinarian treating my dogs or convey the problems they are having to the doctor. All discussion goes through the receptionist and she sometimes forgets to write things down. I get the feeling they treat my "kids" like just another animal and they are so much more than that to me. Of the other four vet clinics I've been to, all are overpriced so I now take them with me to visit relatives and have them treated 400 miles from where I live. After adopting a puppy from Senatobia Shelter, it became very ill and we took it to Senatobia Animal Hospital since they are the vets for the shelter. Our puppy was there for 24 hours and was worse. We took him directly to Cat & Cow in Olive Branch. He had to stay for one week, he has made a great recovery and his five day stay, food, medicine and office visit was slightly more than one visit/stay at Senatobia! They are way overpriced, the vet wouldn't talk on the phone or in person when you come in to pick up your pet, the front desk person explains your medicines and diagnosis to the owner instead of the vet, very limited parking available, and staff complaining about dogs/puppies barking that were there for illness or surgery! All in all it couldn't have been a worse experience. Lesson learned......all of our pets will go to Cat & Cow from now on! Read Less
