I am very satisfied with Vogel Vet. I have been taking my cat here for almost 2 years. Dr. Gerfen & Dr. Shelton are absolutely amazing. Unfortunately I had my Cece put down today & Dr. Shelton & his staff were absolutely wonderful. They were very gental with him, took great care of him. They were patient with me, let me take as much time as I needed to say my goodbyes before & after. I have been to multiple vets in the area. This by far is the best. My 1st encounter was having to take our 16 yr old dog in to be put to sleep. They were very caring and allowed our family time to grieve and say our goodbyes. A few days later we recieved a hand written note expressing their condolences. I moved to the area late last year, so I needed to change where I was taking my dog. I called said I needed to get up to date with whatever she needs, had my previous vet send all of Ava's (my dog) records over. All she was up for was a heart warmer. Great, took her in got it done fine. Went to call Petco a few months later to make a bathing appointment. They called Vogel to get her records and Vogel told them that Ava's shots expired in 2014! So they called to cancel my appointment. I was so upset because I knew they had not. When I called Vogel they claimed to me that they had no previous records of Ava only the appointment we had. "SO you took my dog in told me what they needed without ever receiving the previous records?" I asked. (Which I knew they had received them because we discussed it before and during her app.) Her only answer was we must have gotten the records saw what she needed and no one ever input the information. Someone had to have literally seen the fax of papers and threw them in the trash before checking to see if they were entered? And you mean to tell me that someone told another company that they expired when really they had no record so how could you tell somebody that! I know this is a rant and I never do this kind of thing. But when your dog is your child and you trust them to the professionals that's suppose to take care of your dog and they make so many little mistakes it's hard to trust them. They didn't ask how can I make this to you, just kept making excuses, oh he's new, oh we messed up and didn't put it in. That's not just a oh we messed up one time, that is obviously we're a mess over here and get things done right! How are you suppose to trust their doing anything right! I am so disappointed! Just another vet to me. I initially brought my puppy to this place because he was having issues with his stool and after talking to his old vet in another state they suggested doing another fecal exam.  Plus I'm a first time dog owner and had lots of questions about my puppy. Making the appointment was easy and the receptionists are super sweet. When we got there we struggled to get him on the scale, no biggie and then went into a room. The room seemed out dated and a little drabby. Luckily my dog is outgoing and didn't seem to care while I was nervous as can be.. A woman came into the room and gave us a questionnaire to fill out and then returned just to ask me to hold my dog still so she could get his temperature and look at him. He's a puppy and the previous vet we took him to handled him very well, but this was a joke. She then had to go get the actual vet to hold him down with us (he's only 7 months old). The vet was very polite; he introduced himself and shook my hand. I liked him from the start.. Then I did what everyone else does and asked him about dog food brands. He hadn't heard of our dog food but suggested that Walmart brands aren't a big deal and also stressed about Science Hills Diet. I also asked him to look at a weird lump on my dogs belly, he answered that question perfectly.. But then when it came to eating stools he didn't really have too much to say so I left clueless and went to purchase the Science Hills Diet.. Once I got home I visited dog food advisor and found out that not only is that food a lower grade than what I was feeding him, one reviewer posted that her daughter works in a veterinary hospital and said that the main reason vets recommend that food is because it pays for scholars. I was infuriated! Returned that dog food and now wonder if he even cared about my pet's health. I don't know where to even take him to find a descent vet around here, but at least now I know where this guy stands. Read Less

The employees here are always so nice.  I recently had a medical emergency with my elderly dog who was staying at a local kennel.  I was 8 hours away out of state and called them to let them know I was driving home to get my dog and asked if I could get him in the following day.  To my relief they said they would squeeze us in and to get him there right when they opened at 9.  We got there at 9 and we got right in.  The vet took a look at him and gave us our options.  He explained everything clearly.  Unfortunately we had to do what every pet owner dreads.  The staff was so very caring and sympathetic, they allowed us as much time as we needed with him.  They even sent a sympathy card in the mail. Big thanks to Vogel for supporting rescues!!  Their entire staff is organized and easy to work with.  Very easy to schedule appointments, bonus points for being open until 7 several nights a week.  Requests for paperwork are filled quickly and efficiently.  I've actually never worked directly with a vet since all of mine have been drop offs but the office spaces themselves are quite nice.  Love the availability of coffee and hot chocolate in the very spacious waiting area. Vogel Veterinary Hospital has by far exceeded my expectations for pet care. I recently adopted my first puppy and was recommended to go here by my brother. I recognized a friendly staff and atmosphere from the first phone call I made, even before stepping foot into the office. Dr. Maledy is a great guy, and his love for animals transpires with every visit. My dog got injured and had a femoral fracture on her left hind leg. Like any first-time dog owner, I was a mess and worried as can be. Dr. Maledy was great with her. He took care of the situation in a timely manner and referred me to the best specialist he knew. Dr. Maledy assured me that he'd take the best care of her while she had to stay overnight. As a college student, the tab for this sort of care is frightening, but Dr. Maledy did all he could to work with me and help out. When it comes to my dog, I won't settle for less than the absolute BEST, and that's exactly why I'd give Vogel Veterinary Hospital my highest recommendation. Read Less

Best vet in the Arnold, MO area. Great with cats.  All of the doctors and staff members I have met have been great with my cat, knowledgeable and compassionate - which I'm sure isn't always easy.  Also, everyone I see coming and going with their dogs appear to be equally happy with their treatment during their visit as well. We moved to Arnold earlier this year. I had taken my cats to Webster Groves Animal Hosp for years. Decided it was just too far to go my cats hate the ride and looked for a vet in the Arnold area. Every time we take Gunner and Daisy to Vogel, they are awesome. Dr. Shelton is fantastic, and knowledgeable, and doesn't rush you or make you feel like you're taking up his time like my previous vet (ahem, Banfield).
