I have taken my dog to the Blue Springs Animal Hospital and Pet Resort since my older dog was a puppy. Another vet had suggested I put her down due to fear aggression. (only 2 months old). Dr. Bradley examined her and had no problems. I took my puppy to doggie playtime there several days a week and they worked with her. She became a wonderful dog that loves people! Forever grateful. Now I have a new puppy. She had her first visit and had some health issues (she is a rescue). Dr. Peyton was kind and patient, treated my puppy and answered my endless questions. This animal clinic is the absolute best of the best. Every single person in there truly cares about you, your pet and your concerns. I work in the medical field and know the stresses, worries and unknowns of treating patients. At Blue Springs Animal Hospital you are always treated as though you are the only patient they have. They take the time to answer questions and give honest, genuine suggestions. And my dogs RUN TO THE EXAM ROOM!! They can’t wait to get through the door! At my previous vet, that was not the case. The doctors call you with updates/results and the technicians and receptionists are so knowledgeable! If they don’t know the answer, they don’t hesitate to have the doctor call you back. They have state of the art equipment but not at outlandish prices. I spent 15 months, several thousand dollars and had to leave my dog for days at the former vet trying to figure out what to do for my her. One visit at BSAH and she was home with me on one temporary pill, and has been better than ever since. They’re sensitive to the costs associated with caring for a sick pet and talk very openly about pricing and options. My boxer had a run in with a raccoon. Poor thing got her face scratched pretty badly. Her nose was really messed up. I was referred to Blue Springs Animal Hospital. I was able to get right in and was very impressed with their customer service. The vet and everyone in the office seemed to really care about my boxer during the initial examination. They treated her gently and made me feel better that she was going to be ok. I received a phone call a couple days later checking on her. I also received a nice thank you card in the mail. Over the years, I have taken two cats to Blue Springs Animal Hospital and Pet Resort-first my childhood cat saw Dr. Carey who has now retired but I remembered his care and take my current pet there. Dr. Bradley is wonderful with my cat and you can tell she is a cat person. I am sure she is probably a dog person too but I like that I can tell she has a special fondness for the kitties and she has one of her own. I also find the front desk team and assistants very personable and friendly. On my recent visit, I had a nice chat with the receptionist about an active cat enjoying kitty city and you could tell she enjoys her job. It is a caring, friendly and clean environment. I have been taking our pets here for years, but recently I had to take my daughter’s dog, Harley, in for some serious surgery: she had to have her eyes removed. She had developed glaucoma that was painful; the pressure in her eyes should have been below 15. Each eye was measured at over 60. Harley was pawing at her eyes & they were watering. I had already researched the issue & pretty much knew what was going to be recommended. There really wasn’t any other good option. (She was already blind by this point as well.) Harley came through this difficult surgery with really good results. Dr Owens did Harley’s surgery, and she is a really competent, caring, & empathetic veterinarian. We love her. Harley is still walking around blind, but she’s doing it now without pain & is thriving. I’m constantly amazed at how resilient this little dog is, even without her vision. Unfortunately, I had to visit a pet hospital while I was in the Kansas City area for a football game. I brought my dogs with me into town and my friends and I were introducing our dogs. As you'd guess, it didn't go as planned and my pup took a pretty nasty bite at the base of her ear. My friends immediately loaded her and myself into their truck and took us straight to Blue Springs Animal Hospital & Pet Resort. We called ahead of time to verify they'd have the availability to sew my dog's new ear piercing up and upon arrival they knew who we were and why we were there. Everyone, including the patients and their owners were so friendly! Once we were taken back into the room, the veterinarian that helped us was so kind and extremely relaxing for a nervous pet that just got into a little squabble not even an hour earlier. She was up front with costs, discounts, and exactly what she was going to do for my dog. She made the process so smooth and easy to handle (which was so nice because last time I was at a pet hospital I cried hysterically in fear of what was going on with my stitches-prone dog and never received an update until she was done hours later and with hundreds of dollars more in charges). To say the least, I was in complete surprise to not have gotten a call about extra charges, complications and to just have such a pleasant visit for such a stressful situation. Blue Springs Animal Hospital is BY FAR the best experience my pet and I have ever experienced in the 10 years she's been alive. Thank you all for what you do! They're all so sweet giving my puppy treats and hugs and kisses. The vet comes in does all the normal things but then she goes over what my puppy is doing at this age what I need to be doing with him and all of that, that you normally just have to figure out. We were told by another Veterinarian that our little dog had a common disorder called fluxating patella and that it would probably improve, nothing to be concerned about. 2 months later our little guy didn’t want to bear weight on his leg at all so I decided to get a second opinion and brought him to Blue Springs Animal Hospital to see Dr. Rodier. What Dewey had was a torn ACL as well as a torn MCL and needed surgery to repair his knee. From the moment we were seen all the way through to Dewey’s 2 week post surgery follow up, everyone has been so wonderful. Dewey is getting back on top of things, Dr Rodier and the entire staff are so terrific. Love this place. It might be an hour drive for us but it is so worth it. Read Less

I was very please with the knowledge of Dr Nye. My dog is having a ruff time and I had been doing to another vet. Dr. nye was very sweet and gentle with my dog. She was able to figure at some of the issues going on with him and when I go back in April, she will run more tests. Very nice clean and updated vets office. I enjoyed watching the dogs play in the playroom. I also got a tour of the boarding area and was very please of how clean it was. February 9, 2018, was one of the worst days of the year for me and my family. Even now it brings such pain to think of the events. Our Basenji, Mandie, started acting as if she couldn't stand up. Mandie had Fanconi Syndrome and was on a lot of medications and yet we couldn't get her to put on weight. Dr. Ryder and Dr. Bradley worked with us and encouraged us that we were doing the best for her. Unfortunately, we came to the point where she was too ill to carry on and with ...all the care and support that could be given we let Mandie cross the rainbow bridge. My husband found the Blue Springs Animal Hospital online and the reviews were awesome. We decided to give them a try because we needed a new vet. The staff was all very nice and knowledgeable. They listened to my concerns and answered my questions when my dog needed surgery. I felt much better when I dropped her off for the procedure. They even called me after her surgery was completed to let me know how things went and how she was doing. The price of her surgery and the medicine she needed afterwards was very reasonable. Well I have had Dallas since he was 8 weeks old and he has always gone to Blue Springs Animal Clinic. From the time you walk in all you see is smiling faces and a warm greeting. Dallas is just over 8 years old now and I would never take him anywhere else and I live about 48 miles away from the clinic. When I walk into the door all I hear is," Hi Dallas" and it always make me feel really good! He's a Long Hair Belgium Germany Shepherd, Black and Redness tint, my Service Dog and Best Friend. My wife and I take a lot of trips during the year and I always feel confidence take he is receiving the Best Care and Treatment available. He has two hours daily for play time, one hour in the morning time and one hour in the afternoon not including being taken outside for a walk. If the Veterinarians feel that they need to contact me about anything they will contact me no matter where I maybe. The facility is always clean and never has a smell. They even give Dallas a Report Card which I think is really unique and cute. It tell us all his new friends names he made, games they played like King of the Hill, tug of wars and so on. If it wasn't for Blue Springs Animal Clinic my wife and I would never travel to some of the places we have been. I could not and would not leave him anywhere I did not believe he was not given the same Love, Care and Attention that he receive from us. Read Less

Last month my dog, Berlin, showed signs of something being seriously wrong. Her vet recommended that I take her somewhere for an ultrasound. I had never heard of Blue Springs Animal Hospital, but they came highly recommended, and after doing some research I decided to make the hour drive to have them do the ultrasound. The story doesn't end well, and it's still difficult for me, but I can not thank Dr. Morehead, and everyone who cared for her enough. I'm sorry I can't rem...ember everyone's names. We take our puppy Chewy to see Dr cook and she calls him her husband and all the vet techs love him so much. He literally jumps out of my arms as soon as we walk in the door. I love the staff here! They are all very caring and want the best for your furry family member. I've been going here for years, and I trust their judgement. Dr. DeMarco is my primary vet and we have a pretty good relationship and he'll tell me how it is without sugar coating things, which I really appreciate. I have a "problem" animal that is not in the best of health currently. He isn't responding the way they want to see, so instead of trying to figure it out individually, the vets act as a team and all give their input to come up with the best treatment method. Fingers crossed that my Scruffy recovers, but either way this goes, I know that BSAH and Dr DeMarco gave it their all and gave Scruffy the best treatment possible, to make him comfortable. Read Less

We boarded 2 puppies and had their annual shots/boosters done here. What a wonderful place they are! The entire staff was friendly, helpful and professional. You couldn't ask for a better all around pet care facility. The building was built/designed with pets and owners in mind. Our dogs came out as happy as when they went in and got great marks on their pet stay report card. Which was surprising considering one of them has trouble minding at home. Excellent. We took my dog here for a second opinion, knowing that Blue Springs has many doctors who could be consulted, regarding a medical issue that our regular vet has been treating. The vet who saw our pup was professional, thorough, and took more than 45 minutes to look over our dog. He listened to what I had to say, explained blood work that our regular vet had done, as well as new blood work that was run in the office. The service charge was overall cheaper than where we normally go and the vet followed up the next day to see how our dog was doing and to provide more input. We will be switching from our old vet to Blue Springs Animal Hospital and I highly recommend them. Read Less

We love the staff at Blue springs animal hospital. We've seen Dr. Bradley and Dr. DeMarco in the past. Recently, we saw Dr. Cook and absolutely loved her. We've never had a problem getting in when we call, some times same day appointments are available. They are always respectful and informative and take the time to answer all of our questions. Blue Springs Animal Hospital is a wonderful place to take your furry friends. I had a precious Italian Greyhound who came down with a rare form of stomach cancer and had only a slim chance of survival. The staff and veterinarians were incredibly supportive, and gave my precious baby another year and a half of good health before the cancer came back and took her. They are incredibly caring and knowledgeable and I highly recommend them. From grooming and doggy day care to state of the art health care, they are hands down the best! Read Less

What a great first experience! My family just adopted our first pet and I asked around and searched online before deciding to start our kitten's care with Blue Springs Animal Hospital. From my initial call to set up the appointment to the check out process, everyone was so friendly. I love that they have a separate waiting area for cats. My kitty loved watching the fish while waiting to see the Dr. The facility was clean. The staff was caring, professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. Dr. Williams genuinely seemed to care about our fur baby's well being and set us up with a plan of action for vaccinations, routine testing, and spaying. I did a lot of research before picking this vet because I have a little dog I rescued that has displaysia, and Cushings. I drive a looooong way to take my dog there to be seen, and let me assure you, they are WONDERFUL!!! I have been through two other vets that just suck till I found BSAH. The staff is also fabulous!! You can tell the dogs and cats that come in really like it. Side note: We adopted two kittens from them. The ladies behind the desk love and totally socialize their kittens before you get them. BSAH has been a blessing to my family and I! We have been taking our special kitties here for a while now! This past Friday we lost our sweet baby kitty Slice. We had him in our family for 13 years and he brought us so much joy. We had to put him asleep because of a large cancerous tumor in his chest that was producing painful blood clots. Dr. Williams was incredible and SO loving towards Slice and my family. She helped us through the pain of losing our special friend. Dr. Williams also showed me how respectful and caring this animal hospital truly is by letting us have our last final moments with Slice in a quiet room filled with comfortable couches and relaxing surroundings. I just want to say that this Animal Hospital is amazing! I bought my puppy from Petland and was a little upset about their recommended vets office was in Blue Springs since I live in North KC but when I went there I was in awe! Everyone was so nice and welcoming. We did end up having to make a couple more trips since puppy was sick but the three doctors we had were AMAZING!!! So worth going there to see everyone. The entire experience was so seamless and professional that I was inspired to make my office more like this (and I work in human health care). We brought our dog Duke to Blue Springs Animal Hospital to have surgery for a torn ACL. No one in our area could do the surgery on such a large dog. We first discovered this place a few years ago when he tore the other ACL. We had no hesitation in bringing him back here once we knew what his problem was. The doctors and staff here are excellent and so caring. Dr Demarco did a great job and was truly a pleasure to deal with. Just so everyone can be aware, this hospital works in conjuction as the treating Veterinarian for Petland (Yes.. Puppy Mill Petland at the Independence Center) Please know this means they check those sickley puppies in to Petland and they also are the warranty vet provider for them when you purchase from Petland. We made the huge mistake and got suckered into a cute face and purchased a sweet baby English Bulldog from Petland on Thursday 9-8-16 Took our 9 week old baby to BSAH on that Monday, from day one of bringing him here for his "well puppy first visit" our puppy has been sick and got sicker with Kennel Cough which turned into a severe respiratory infection. Took puppy in for a sick visit with BSAH and they never got him better just added more prescriptions instead of chosing to take an x-ray or bloodwork even after coming in & us saying he's getting worse and vomiting now. My puppy was coughing with puss, green puss out of his nose and sounded extremely conjested...mind you he's an English Bulldog. We had to rush our puppy to the Emergency Vet on Sunday & he was diagnosed with pneumonia in both of his lungs & was fighting for his life. We transport our dog from the Emergency Vet first thing Monday morning over to Blue Springs Animal Hospital where they suggest later we take him back to the Emergency Vet at night and transport him daily back to them because they did not have a nebulizer there to treat his condition to the best of their ability. BSAH still couldn't figure out a good plan of action for our puppy, nor had the equipment to care for a puppy with severe pneumonia. At this point we decided to remove our puppy from their care and chose to go outside of our puppy warranty and take him to our regular pets Veterinarian. The care was less than average because I feel BSAH is contracted with Petland to just suffice you until the 14 day puppy warranty runs out and then your on your own with your sick puppy. We will never EVER take another animal to this incompetent animal hospital and I would never recommend this place to anyone!!!Read Less

Truly a very warm feeling from the moment you walk in to checking out. Very caring and informative staff and doctors. We brought our cat "Leo" in the other day to remove an almost 3 pound tumor off of him. They evaluated him through a variety of tests to find the best course of action for his treatment plan. We were treated with the upmost respect and courtesy as they walked us through every step of the way. You can tell that they have a sincere passion for animals, as it shows throughout the facilitiy . I have two cats and one dog who all see Dr. Bradley at Blue Springs Animal Hospital. A few years ago I moved about 45 minutes away from this clinic and for convenience decided to take my animals to a different small town vet. Unfortunately in May my cat Isadora developed a cancerous tumor under her tongue. After taking her to the smaller vets office and being told there was nothing they could do (they didn't even prescribe her pain medicine) I knew I had to go back to Blue Springs Animal Hospital. Dr. Bradley ended up performing surgery on Isadora to help reduce the tumor and make her as comfortable as possible during her last few months of life. She treated my animals like they were her own and helped guide me through this really tough situation. I could write a million words on how amazing Dr. Bradley is but honestly I could say the exact same for every single staff member here. A special thanks to the front desk staff who are also wonderful and understanding. They are awesome! The staff is so friendly. We have never waited more than 5 minutes in the waiting room. It is super clean. I love that they have doctors who are specialized for dogs and cats and for different types orthopedic. They will work with you to find the best solution for your pet. I never feel pressured to go through with a procedure. We went through several vets before a recommended Blue Springs and now I would never go anywhere else. Approaching Lucy's two year birthday also comes with a trip to see Dr. Willis. As a first time dog mom, and being completely new to Missouri, I couldn't have picked a better place if I tried two years ago. Since day one, Lucy has been beyond well taken care of. From her puppy visits, to Dr. Willis and the rest of the staff providing tips and tricks for every day issues, to reminding me about her heartworm medications. Even after she was spayed, Samantha was excellent and called to tell me that she was fine...and went to the extent of sending me a photo, just so I could get through the rest of the work day. She absolutely loves attending daycare which is convenient on my long work days, because they don't mind if I drop her off at 7 am and pick her up at 7 pm...they embrace it. With all of that being said, Lucy will have a new English Bulldog puppy to begin playing with beginning this weekend. I'm so excited for Charlie to meet Dr. Willis and the rest of the team in a couple weeks. Every time we pull up, Lucy will bounce around and race to the door as if she couldn't get inside quick enough. Everything was explained to us before we made any decisions, and they were upfront about costs and procedures. I blame this facility for the death of my beloved Toby. When you board your dog here, they lock the doors at 7 p.m. and no one ever checks the pets again until the next day. There are no security cameras, no guard. My dog died over the course of hours, alone, suffocating from bloat while boarded here. ( I was NEVER told about bloat or tacking a stomach despite Toby having a previous attack & taking him to this hospital.). I thot by paying a hospital top dollar and signing waivers to pay for any emergency, we would be safe. I trusted this "hospital" and they totally failed us. Don't make the same mistake. If I had known how incomplete this facility was, my Toby would still be sleeping with his head on my pillow. Read Less

Went to have our cat put down and the vet forced my wife to have tests run that cost over $600 even though I kept telling them to put the cat down, played me against her. Cat was finally put down, a blessing as the cat had no quality of life and we ended up oweing over $600 that they harrased us about for months until it was finally paid. Would never take a pet here again as it seemed they were trying to make as much money as possible instead of putting the animals welfare first. We had such a great experience and because of this program our puppy loves going to the vet! We got free daycare and classes for socializing and lots of other perks for being in the program. From the time I walk in the front doors, to the time I leave, I feel good about taking my pets there. I love the friendly staff, and so do my dogs. ( I really love that my dogs drag me * IN* the doors, rather than out.) I am glad to have found them for the care of my four legged kids. I know they will give me all my options and not just assume that I want standard service, I really trust them to vaccinate with what my pets really need, sedate with all proper precautions, or even just a nail trim. I have gone to this place for TOO LONG! They charge you way more than other vets in the area for the exact same thing and are rude! A friend of mine had their pet stay there over a weekend and I went to check on her. She had a large puddle of urine in the middle of floor for lord knows how long and her water bowl was bone dry. I will never take my pet back and neither will my friend. I would hate to see your loved pet be mistreated or you be overcharged to the tune of $50-$80 more than you should every visit. Read Less

My little dog has been going to see the doctors at Blue Springs Animal Hospital for over 16 years now. I truely do not believe that she would be in such great health and so active and puppy-like if I had not found such an awesome group of people to care for her. I can't even count how many times I have had them exam her, give her shots and clean her yukky teeth over the years! She has been on pain medication for a bad back for almost 10 years now so I always have them do blood work and so far that has been perfect! She has been groomed there many times over the years as well and I honestly can say I have never had a complaint. I just love them all and so does she! My cat is over 16 years old as well and although she doesn't enjoy the visits as much as my dog (that is just her nature!) I think they have been good for her. She was diagnosed with a liver problem several years ago and by folllowing their recommendations and advise she has had a very comfortable life with no signs of illness. I'm sure I'm very lucky to have had my pets so long but I am very thankful that there is such a trusting place that has helped us get this far! I would recommend them to anyone. Read Less

Blue Springs Animal Hospital is the only animal hospital that I trust my 3 dogs healthcare with. If they are sick in anyway the Doctor's will give you an estimate of the tests and various procedures before their treatment begins.. They are honest in everyway. If they think they problem isn't treatable with a good outcome,you as the owner can make the choice to treat or not. Every Doctor is highly edcated and continues to learn every year the latest procedures, which is what makes them an AAHA animal hospital. Our dogs are members of our family just as are children are, would you take your children to a Doctor which doesn't contine to learn and strive to do the best for children? Wow! The staff are so friendly and knowledgeable. The facility is clean and modern. They got us right in for an appointment and had the equipment and capability to do the tests our dog needed at their hospital instead of referring to the specialist in Kansas. While our dog was hospitalized we visited her and the staff took such great care of her. Everything was first rate, just like a human hospital, and we thought the fees were very fair compared to other vets we have gone to in the past. My wife took our cat to have it put down as she was very ill. Before they would do as we asked they had to perform some tests, 500.00 worth. The result was the same they cat was put down and now we owe 500.00 for what another vet said should have cost 50.00. Seems they are only interested in making money, not the welfare of your pet.
