We have been taking our dogs to see Dr. Stukey for a number of years and we think he is fantastic! He takes a genuine interest in your pet's health and it shows. We just lost our 11 yr old Sheltie to a long battle with heart disease but we wouldn't have had him near that long if not for the compassionate medical care provided by Dr. Stukey and the staff at Cavanaugh. For the past 7 years every Veterinarian, Tech., groomer and office worker have been nothing less than wonderful. Every person there shows a caring for animals that cannot be matched. Our dog has had a number of issues that were treated with the utmost care and concern. Follow up calls are not at all unusual. Highly recommend NEVER going to Cavanaugh Pet Hospital. EVER. We took Chesty, my boxer, there first for his seizures, and they diagnosed him with pancreatic cancer. They charged me over $200 to do a blood insulin test 11/16/16, as well as another large amount of money to do 2 glucose tests. Still haven't gotten the results of the insulin test, and it is 11/21/16. She said I wouldn't have it until Wednesday at least. When I got a second opinion, they were appalled that the doctors at Cavanaugh didn't provide any additional medicine or care for my boy, and just sent him home. He could have seized at any moment, causing brain damage or death. The second vet took him, IMMEDIATELY, and have provided a VERY successful surgery, removing all cancer before Cavanaugh has even given me my blood results. Not to mention, Cavanaugh is refusing to refund me ANYTHING, and the Dr.'s last (extremely unprofessional) remark before I got off the phone with her was "I hope they told you that the survival rate for this is only 10%!!!!" before she hung up on me. NEVER GO HERE. All they want is money. Worst experience ever. I will also be reporting them to the Missouri Veterinary Medical Board. Read Less

I was incredibly impressed with Dr. Cavanaugh.  He was very accommodating of my schedule- for example when my pup developed a hernia, I took her in on a Saturday and he did same-day surgery, no problem.  Prices are incredibly reasonable.  He took the time to personally call me and explain about the risks of purchasing pet meds (flea prevention etc) over the internet.  Great vet.
