I've never been so happy ! The staff, especially Christina, really.go out of the way to make you feel comfortable and make ypur animals feel safe and loved. They have a" no fear policy " & do everything to make your animal comfortable and feel secure. I had an emergency with my dog and they took the time out to see her right away and gave her such love and care. From now on Roxie will see Christina and the whole staff when she needs her medical care. I also would like to say that the cost of this emergency was very very affordable. Really wonderful place to take your pet. The entire staff was great, and everyone truly engages and takes an interest in your pet. That's what I noticed the most on my first visit; I was not rushed or given a stock answer about any of my questions. They really took the time to consider and explain all options for my dog based on his health history and personal quirks. I can't believe I continued to see my other vet for so long when this gem was right down the street from me! The staff at Brentwood Animal Hospital is amazing. My first visit was on a Saturday and they were short staffed but that didn't mean their service suffered. Yeah, I waited a while but it was not a big deal. They still took the time to educate me about their facility and I left feeling like they truly cared. Every visit or phone call since then has been great! I took my puppy Brooklyn (Boxer/Lab Mix) to Brentwood Animal Hospital to see Dr. Heider right after I adopted her at 8 weeks. A week later Brooklyn started vomiting and had profuse diarrhea - unfortunately it turned out to be parvo. Dr. Heider was instrumental in assisting with setting up care with a specialty animal hospital and called the hospital daily to check up on Brooklyn and called me daily to relay information. I can't say enough positive things about Brentwood Animal Hospital! I recently went in with my 9-month old pup for the first time as he was having some issues. I called earlier in the day and they were able to fit me that evening for a 7 p.m. appointment. Before going, I feared that having the last appointment of the day we would be rushed or not given as much attention as an earlier appointment, but boy was I wrong! Upon arrival, we were greeted by friendly. smiling faces at the front desk. The waiting room was very spacious and clean. They immediately brought us back to the examination room. Two vet technicians were playing with Charlie (the pup) and asking a multitude of questions to get to know him better. Dr. DeWilde came in the room (after no wait at all) and was nothing short of amazing -- after giving him a physical examination, she took the time to explain what could be potentially wrong with my pup with descriptions that were easy (for the non-dog expert -me) to understand. I felt like she REALLY cared about Charlie and his health AND answering any questions I had. We were the last ones there and no one seemed in a rush to get us out at all! It was a very thorough appointment and I felt so great about Brentwood Animal Hospital when we left. They will most certainly be Charlie's primary vet from now on.Extra Points: They gave Charlie the CUTEST little yellow bandanna to wear when we left. Read Less

My furbabies adore Dr. DeWilde and we have politely stalked her from clinic to clinic, but so far this is our favorite. The waiting room is huge so you aren't forced to sit uncomfortably close to someone and their pet. The exam rooms are spacious and very clean. And of course Dr. DeWilde is wonderful! Read Less

I have been going to Brentwood Animal Hospital for MANY years. They care for animals in such a way that its amazing. They care for your "furry children" as if they were their own. The know that these are not just your pets or animals. They know that they are part of your family. The staff are such warm people. Marilyn, Lori, Lori-the groomer, and Cee Cee are wonderful people. Dr Ryterski is such a wonderful man. He takes his time with each animal and you can tell he enjoys his job. They are there to support you in your time of need when you loose a pet, and also in the time of joy when welcoming a new member to your family and theirs. They are ready willing and able to help answer any questions that you may have. I recommend them to anyone that asks me for a referral to a vet. I have a 12 yr. old Australian Shepherd who has elbow dysplasia.  She takes Rimadyl daily and is on Adequan therapy.  I have taken my dog to Dr. Headrick for acupuncture treatments.  After the treatment, my dog has her old bounce in her step; so it does seem to help.  Dr. Headrick is very thorough and I really appreciate the time she spends with my dog. After moving to STL from out of state our little dog fell gravely ill. I took her here for an emergency appointment simply because it was close to my house. I met with Dr. Ryterski and within a minute of looking at her he diagnosed her with Cushings disease.  (My vet back home had missed it and blamed her symptoms on aging.) He quickly did followup testing to confirm the diagnosis and started her on medication. Even though she was in such bad shape he remained positive, nonjudgmental and gave me hope for her recovery. I was in and out of the clinic a bunch over the next month and the entire staff was very caring and supportive, I always felt good handing my sweet girl over to them. Have you ever been mugged?  Keep an eye on your wallet.  Dr. Perez conducted a number of unnecessary tests on my dog totally $250.  "Renal kidney failure" we need more tests and hundreds more of your dollars.  We said no thank you and went to another Vet.  New Vet said previous tests were not necessary but helpful.  Here are some antibiotics, call back in a week.  New diagnosis - simple infection.  $96 and my dog now has no further health concerns.  All clear and doing great.  No additional ultrasounds, IV treatments or special prescription diet needed. Please do not use this vet!!!!!  I had them clean my dogs teeth 11 months ago - brought him back last week for his yearly.  Decided as a preventive messsure to have his teeth cleaned again. Told Dr. Shore at the time I wanted to be proactive and not have the dog loose any teeth. Today I signed a release that they could extract any bad teeth.  Again - they just saw him last week and did his last cleaning 11 months ago.  This is a three year old dog.  Got a call after the cleaning - he did great but we pulled EIGHT teeth - they were falling out with no root structure and don't forget you sighed a release.  I asked - if they were falling out did you charge me for the extractions - he says - Oh that's what you are worried about the charges per extraction.  NO!!! I am beyond upset for the reckless pulling of teeth - that were in his opinion beyond saving.  He told me the teeth had no root structure left but when I asked for the teeth they had little or no loss from my laymens pespective.  I had recently written a good review - PLEASE DISREGARD this earlier review.  I asked if they were aware of dental surgery for gum issues and they said that that did not exist for dogs.  Unfortunately they are wrong.  I have now found out there is a dental specialist - which I have an appiontment with - but for me too little too late.  Please - I can not say strongly enough to stay away from this vet.  I do not want anyone to feel the heartbreak I am enduring by not reading the release more throughly and realizing I was authorizing this vet the ability to pull any tooth he saw fit - again in his opinion.I did not pay for the extractions - I imagine he had racked up a BIG bill with all those pulled teeth - but there is no way I would pay for this reckless care.  This is my opinion about this care but I have never heard of or experienced something like this with many years of pet ownership. I highly recommend this place.  It's very welcoming for a vet's office, and super clean every time too! You can tell that they truly love what they do, and love animals. I'm a bit overprotective of my dog and feel 100% comfortable bringing him to BAH. Disclaimer: I have only taken the dogs to this particular animal hospital.  The cats go to Clark Animal Hospital.  We have also never had any medical emergencies (thank god!), so I am reviewing them based on their routine checkup services and their attention to detail when we have had the occasional small medical issue.  Dr. Shore is a great vet! He genuinely cares about the well-being of our pups.  Recently, Stan (the Pit Bull mix), started to lose some of his hair.  Dr. Shore ran some tests, re-checked his results, gave us a diagnosis, and called on a Saturday about a month after the initial visit, to see how he was doing.  Great follow-up! Don't worry, $300 later, he just has some seasonal alopecia.  Walter (Lab) has had an array of non-emergency medical issues that have been identified, treated, and followed up with on a later date.  I'm not really sure how they run in terms of pricing.  I personally cannot put a price on the well-being and health of my fur babies, so for me, no dollar amount is too large.  I am an animal LOVER and I feel very comfortable with the care that the boys receive from this pet hospital.  If you're in need of a new vet, check them out!
