I love this office. They are one of the only few places in Missouri that takes care of chinchillas. As a owner of 9 they have been so much help. They were thorough with explaining X-rays and doing the surgeries. One of my animals is sick and has teeth issues so I see them every 6-8 weeks. Thank you for your help. Highly recommended. Dr. Kersting is currently treating my homing pigeon, Spigot, for an undefined mass in his body that is displacing his organs and minimizing his air sac volume. When my pigeon first got sick, it happened suddenly and traumatically, and I was so afraid for him. It's still a terrifying and uncertain experience, but Dr. Kersting and the vet techs have been doing everything that they can to ensure that he and I are as comfortable as we can possibly be in a situation like this while still being truthful and realistic. Their level of care and compassion for the animals in their care and their owners is comforting, and their depth of knowledge is exceptional. Spigot will have his operation tomorrow, and it is uncertain if what they will find is treatable. Whether it is or not, I trust that my bird is in the best hands he can possibly be in, and if Spigot can be treated, I trust that he will be. I highly recommend this vet.Read Less

I looooooooove this place! Doctor Kersting is amazing. He spent more time then anyone I have seen with the animals. He looked at everything. So I dropped my bird of also when we went on vacation. Omg! The cutest thing ever. She was actual upset when we left the office. They had put her by another cockatiel. They have barriers up that are see through so birds stay healthy but can see each other. I felt so bad when my birds little buddy she made started screaming for her awe......They give this adorable card,that tells you how they did while you are away. When our African Grey became egg bound we drove 2 hours on the recommendation of another parrot owner. They saved her life that night and they did it with professionalism, care, courtesy, and did not charge a huge amount despite being an emergency on a holiday weekend. Dr Kersting was great with my birds but when i needed help with two sick koi fish worth about 1100 dollars, I was heart broken over there lack of concern. I've been calling every day since last Friday and the tech acknowledged that she would need to do a home visit but I have yet to be able to get them to schedule anything. I won't be using their services again and my fish will most likely die as a result of there negligence. I can't believe a doctor would treat an animal this way. It's absolutely disgusting. Read Less

We took our Birds to Dr Kersting last night after they were injured Friday night when the electricity went out . One injured his wing pretty bad . We did take them to Emergency hospital Friday night . This Dr came highly recommended and now I see why . We received the best care , exam and explanations about his recovery and injury . Dr. Kersting is just the absolute best. He is very caring of your pets, and is easiest one of the nicest people I have met. His staff is wonderful, too. Nice people who know what they're doing, and who will bend over backwards for you of it means taking care of your pet (s). They stayed late once for my fiance, who was putting 15 birds into boarding for 2 weeks during an emergency. If you need a vet, Kersting is just who you go to. Period. Read Less

Best vet I've ever been to. Dr. Kersting is wonderful to talk to, answers questions in an educational manner, and is great at handling my cockatoo and gray. I've boarded my cockatoo here as well.
