He explained everything and answered all of my questions , including any diagnostic testing needed. He let me know my options for Friscos plan of care. We started going to Veterinary Care Center when my dog Sasha was about 6 years old.  They were amazing.  We always knew he was in great hands.  In 2011, Sasha developed a brain tumor.  We had a tough choice to make, and the doctors were right there with us the entire time.  Since Sasha was 14, we just didn't think chemo would be the right move.  It wasn't guaranteed to work, and if it did, it would only prolong his life for a short time.  Plus, the side effects were going to be brutal.  We decided to just keep Sasha as comfortable as possible, which included supplies from the vet that we could take home so we didn't have to bring him into the office every day.  On Sasha's final day, it was clear that he was in pain.  We made a rule that if he ever felt pain, we were going to do the right thing.  However, no matter how much you prepare for it, you're never ready to make the call.  Sasha's regular vet was actually on vacation at the time, but when she got the news that Sasha was starting to suffer she immediately called my mom and they talked for almost an hour.  My mom knew what needed to be done, but needed to hear once again that it was time.  Had the vet not called my mom, I don't think our family would have been able to accept the loss.  I saw Sasha a few days before he passed away, but was not there when it actually happened because I live in KC.  I was so worried about my mom and step-dad, but I knew that they were going to be ok.  My mom said the the vet's office was so humane and respectful and that is was truly a peaceful situation.  I never once questioned her decision.  I cannot thank the staff enough for being by my family's side when it was time to put Sasha down.  He was my little dude, and I think about him all the time.  If it wasn't for Veterinary Care Center, Sasha might have died prior to his time.  He was a huge part of our family, and will forever connect us to the staff at VCC.
