The vets here seem to be good vets. The middle age last with the bob haircut that has been there 10+ years is rude and did not seem to care one bit when I had to have my cat put down. Best vet in the area. They have been instrumental in my horses care and provided the greatest care to my dogs. They are like family to me. Last year we had to put my 13yo golden retriever down and they had as many tears as we did. Around the same time they did a lifesaving ligament replacement on my youngest golden giving her the complete ability to run, jump and enjoy life as she always had. Hmmm. I've been going here for about 5 years. They originally told me they are also an exotic vet. Dr. Stafford seen my first rat Twist and treated him. He then treated my rat I have now when he was younger. Then when I bring my rat in we are never seen by same vet. They give him antibiotics and send us home. Rat gets better for a few weeks now sick again with uri. Send home with same meds as before and tell me if they don't work well try something else. I go home an a few hours later my rat is extremely ill. I'm up all night with him and call VGVS the next morning. I tell the lady he's extremely ill and she puts me on hold for tech. I wait. She then tells me a tech will call when they get a minute. The noise in background was so loud I could barely hear or tell receptionist my phone number. 30 minutes later I get a call back from a young girl that tells me the vet says continue meds and it should run it's course. I was extremely disappointed and knew if I didn't take my dear rat to another vet he could die. I did find an exotic vet and they seen him and confirmed what I had thought he had. Mycoplasma flare up and ruptured nasal blood vessel. Fairgrove vets had been treating my elderly rats with the wrong meds. My new vet said so and got him on the right meds and doing extremely well after 3 days now. I sent Fairgrove vet a message on Facebook and was very nice I told them about the meds and asked if they have an exotic vet in office anymore. They don't. Dr.Stafford was the only one qualified and after he left to care for zoo animals the care for exotic pets is just not there. Please tell someone if you don't have anyone there qualified to treat a rat. One of their vets Ellen messaged me back and really didn't make much sense but was nice. I wasn't going to say anything but when I went to reply and tell her it is ok and I was not mad. She blocked me. I was like what just happened. So this is why I am here to tell you I don't know hoiw they are with other animals but please don't take your rats or exotic animals here. There is nobody there with that kind if experience although they will treat all animals. Take your small rodents to hint hint James River Animal in Nixa. Tons and tons of experience. I feel these jerks in Fairgrove owe me an explanation of why Ellen blocked me. I have a copy of the messages. I want a refund for my recent visits and an apology. Read Less

Our cat had a UTI over the weekend and Fair Grove Vet was able to see us on Monday. The staff there was very professional and kind and we were put into an exam room right away. Dr Ellen was extremely thorough and patient with us. They ended up keeping out cat overnight. I really appreciated that Dr Ellen didn't want to jump to conclusions about the issues our cat was having and not just throw medication her way. Dr Ellen had a very thorough plan of action and spent a good amount of time talking to us to make sure we were comfortable. They have been amazing to my sweet Lilly girl (131 pound daniff, Great dane/mastiff mix). We have been so grateful for Dr.Talbot and his staff for their love and compassion even though they just met her first the first time on surgery day and even when this crazy mama called to check on her baby several times a day after her surgery. We've been looking for a decent vet in the area now since 2/28/12 and have taken our pets to 3 other vets in the area and were VERY unsatisfied with them. We took our 2 dogs down today and both me and the wife were VERY IMPRESSED with the staff and our new doctor. We've been getting the run-around with skin sores on our 5 yr old Lab for about 6 months now and everything we were told was reversed by FGVS. The doctor and the staff were very hands on, treated the animals softly, but firmly and weren't afraid to get down on their level. Our Doctor spent the entire visit down on the floor on the dog's level and had no hesitation on letting Nox sniff her face and eyes. The doctor acted more like a old-fashioned country pediatrician than a vet. Neither the staff nor the doctor were rushed and took the time to actually listen to our observations and concerns. So far, we are very pleased with the service. VERY AFFORDABLE and worth every penny we spent. Read Less

I love the people that work here ..they made me very comfortable in my dogs last few days and did everything they could for her.. I couldnt have found a better vet than ellen ..I would highly recommend this verterinary office to everyone !! They are absolutely wonderful with animals!!!! Read Less
