Florissant, Missouri
General Info
Pawpatch Animal Hospital in Florissant continues to be a significant part of local pet owners’ lives. Pawpatch Animal Hospital delivers services to Missouri homes through the careful monitoring of parameters and animal wellness programs. During the initial appointments, experts examine any changes in behavior, appetite, or mobility that might have occurred recently. Pet owners often take their pets to the hospital for vaccinations, dental cleanings, wellness exams and testing. However, the hospital can also handle emergencies like sudden injuries, swelling, or stomach problems. Based on the initial findings, it might be necessary to perform additional tests such as blood work, urinalysis, or imaging studies. Allergy treatment services, surgery consultation, and geriatric care options coexist. Pet owners receive an extensive analysis of the test results and a detailed plan ranging from medications to long-term care goals. Veterinary clinic procedures undergo alterations for the animals suffering from arthritis, skin disorders and metabolic changes. Multiple clients from nearby cities and rural areas surrounding Florissant travel to seek knowledge and continuity in their pet’s health care evolution. The clinic provides a systematized follow-up program with detailed record keeping and adjustable timelines, which is helpful for families with multiple pets or those requiring post-procedure observation. The formulation of care recommendations is a multifaceted process that relies on the interconnection between climate, breed, test results, and household factors. Pawpatch Animal Hospital designs specific plans that easily fit into the pet owners’ daily routines in Florissant. Both pets and people experience reduced stress while health outcomes improve across seasons through these techniques. Some of the popular services at this facility include laboratory, diagnostics, cardiology, surgery, microchipping, nutritional counseling, parasite prevention and control, preventive medicine, and reptile care. Whether it is a routine wellness plan or a complicated medical issue, pet owners are confident in Pawpatch Animal Hospital because they know the facility strives to be the best through open communication. The staff at Paw Patch are incredible. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my fur babies! My family and I have been going to Paw Patch since we moved to Florissant around 1999. I have taken cats from the age of a few weeks up to almost 20 years to them and they always know what to do. Everyone is always kind, gentle, loving, and compassionate. Their hours make it easy to fit my schedule, and if I have questions about my cats' health or behavior, I call to ask and they either provide an answer right away or have Dr. Welch call me back. Everyone who works there has been there so long that they remember your name and your fur babies, even when you run into them outside Paw Patch. I highly recommend their staff. Read Less

I have been using Paw Patch animal clinic for many years with my first dog(Nykki) who passed away and was put down at their facility. I recently purchased another puppy (Alexis aka Lexi) seven months ago I was taking her to Paw Patch animal for all her shots and whatever other treatments she need it. I called to inquire about getting her spayed and was told that I just miss the cut off point of getting it done for $99 providing she was six months old or younger, she's seven months old now. When I told Renee that no one mentioned to me about getting it done before six months for $99 she replied to me that all of our techs make sure we tell customers to go out on the website and get this done before their six months, I told her no one ever told me anything about a website and $99 prior to six months of age and do you really think that I would have missed this by one month if I'm trying to have it done now ....it was not told to me.... bottom line is they can document whatever they want in their chart and say that it was told to you and it's valid to them even if they never discussed anything with you at all.... SO BE AWARE THAT WHATEVER CONVERSATION YOU HAVE IN THE ROOM MAY NOT BE THE CONVERSATION DOCUMENTED IN THE CHARTS.... SO ANGRY WITH THEM AND THEY JUST LOST A PATIENT!!!!!!! Read Less

I have been going there for many years and really like them. The staff are all very helpful and great to work with. When I took my old cat in because of a sudden onset of problems, I learned his mouth was full of tumors. I asked my vet if anything could be done to help him. She said that there was an operation but I would have to take him somewhere else. She refused to do it because it was expensive, very painful for him, and he might not even live through it. So, I could take him home and watch him die slowly and painfully from starvation or take him to another vet to have the operation done or have him put to sleep. The vet and staff are so kind and considerate when you have to lose a furbaby. Read Less

I was so nervous to bring my pit to the vet to begin with but when her behavior changed and she was getting aggressive I absolutely had to. I knew this was a great place from bringing my parents dog here multiple times but they absolutely exceeded my expectations. I called and explained what was going on with her and they promised to do what they could. When the vet and receptionist came in together they absolutely commanded respect from my dog and she was the best behaved I've ever seen her. They showed so much compassion and care for her. They did muzzle her, which was for everyone's safety and they did it to where she was comfortable and barely even realized it was on. They checked her over, and mind you she was still on her best behavior with these complete strangers. They found a couple things that possibly could be triggering it, due to allergies. We agreed it was the best place to start and they prescribed her the best medicine to fit my budget. They gave me so much information to read up on and I can not thank them enough for all they're help. I was at a complete loss and due to the safety of my family I was sure I would have to give her up. But they assured me that there are so many resources out there for my beautiful rescue pit and that they would absolutely help me to the best of their abilities. Thank you again paw patch!Read Less

Hi, everyone, first off, I would like to state that I believed what the doctor & staff told me about my cat for ten years.. I even had him tested yearly and even for the senior blood work & test. In the past, I called in or went up to the doctor's office when he started throwing up a lot and always being hungry, and was only told that he eats too fast.. My cat was over weight and put on a diet by the doctor with the prescription food. His recent test and blood work came back fine with no none illnesses (clean bill of health). Ok, a few months pass and within the last 2 days my cat's health significantly declines. I take him in because he is yelping really badly & peeing everywhere. The doctor states, that he has blood & crystals in urine, low white cell count, low glucose (diabetes), & etc.. The only thing she recommends is that my cat be hospitalized with no guarantee of survival & that it will be extremely expensive and/or I can take him to the humane society to have him euthanized for free.. How does a cat go from being perfectly normal (in my eyes) to ready to die in 2 days..!! Thus, my cat is no longer here and my family and I are devastated!! I just don't understand how doctors can be so quick to want to kill the animal instead of trying to work something out on saving it & getting it out of so much pain..? I even ask for pills for him for his conditions and she declined me!! Unfortunately after the fact, I found on the internet that pills can be given and he should have never been given dry food because of the over weight & the conditions that come with a male neutered cat (which I did not no about).. The doctor also stated to me, well didn't you see the signs? Well, I don't speak cat, so I did not know what to look for.. I just told you about him throwing up and always hungry.. So please try to do your own research and just don't trust solely in any doctor!! I just assumed they had my cat's best interest and did what the doctor stated.. They even knew my cat by name as soon as we came in the door by his meow's:). Now, it is so hard for my family to keep going without our cat...:(.Read Less
