We took one of our pups to Dr. Leonard today and I can't say enough good things. Our pup is nervous around new people and everyone took their time to let him get comfortable and didn't rush him. I know they had other clients to see but we didn't feel pressure to get through our appt. Dr. Leonard and Taylor acted like we were their only patients and made us feel so comfortable. Cricket was SO sweet and loved on Pirelli as soon as we got there. Everyone's passion and love for animals truly shows as soon as you walk in the door. She knows her stuff, and if she doesn't know the answer, she uses her many contacts with colleagues to find it. Her office staff are knowledgeable, kind, and ready to help. Dr. Leonard is compassionate and empathic. She has guided me through extremely difficult situations with my animals and with the children at scho...ol when difficult decisions needed to be made about our school animals. Dr. Leonard recently supported my family through the death of a dog. She clearly and gently laid out all the options, and was comforting and reassuring with the tough decision to put him down. Dr. Leonard and her staff are wonderful. I have taken my dogs for routine care and most recently one of my dogs has been diagnosed with stomach cancer. It has been a very painful journey. I was lucky enough to have had Emily Leonard as our vet before she went to Cherry Hills. I was SO sorry to see her leave and you are very lucky to have her. She is one of the most caring vets I've ever had the pleasure of working with. While I'm still with her last clinic (and honestly love them there) if Cherry Hill were closer I would have followed Emily. Not only were all of my pets comfortable with her but I was comfortable with her. I enjoyed seeing her and probably took up way too much of her time but she never rushed us. She always seemed happy to see us. She showed sorrow when my cat, who she had only seen once, died while we were on vacation. I have had the pleasure of working with Dr. Leonard at a previous clinic. From a "behind the scenes" perspective, she is very much a "what you see is what you get" doctor. There is no show being put on in the exam room to win clients over; she extends her professionalism to beyond the exam room by pushing her techs to go beyond their own expectations and *always* putting the pets first. The night before Thanksgiving we took our precious kitten Kakoo in for express service and they accommodated us, patiently and thoroughly. The whole team there puts humans, canines and felines at ease with in depth and accurate assessments, recommendations and care. Very professional. Prices were comparable to others in the area, i.e. a little pricey but not too bad. The staff all LOVED my dog and gave him with copious pets and puppy talk.
