My parents brought a dog in that was more of a family member. Dr. Mitzs was very rude, my parents dog was mis diagnosed 3 times before getting an x ray, he shouldn't have been operated on in the first place because the dog was low on blood. Dr. Mitzs used his own dog over and over again for blood transfusions. And some of the staff was very rude, the dog was very scared of some of the staff, when they would walk back to the kennel, he would cower to the back of the kennel, as if they had been mis treating him... The dog lost lots of weight as if they haven't been feeding him. They even made a comment that they want to keep their animals hungery. Whenever my parents called them and said that maybe the dog would do better at home so that the dog would have the comfort of home. Dr. Mitzs said that if they take him home to not bring the dog back. My parents took the dog to longs veterinarian clinic. Where the dog was better treated and seemed to be more caring. Unfortunantly the dog was too ill and died. Longs veterinarian clinic sent a condolances card in the mail to my parents. Now that they look back on things. They wouldnt have taken their dog to the holt vetinarian clinic and would have just taken him to longs. They now say they will never take another animal here again. Read Less

Called the office after hours in what I felt was an emergency situation. While other area clinics wouldn't answer or referred me to a place in the middle of Kansas City, the Doctor took my call and me and him were able to come up with a solution over the phone after I described the problem. Made me feel so much better about my dog's issue knowing that it was a manageable situation. When my dog needs a visit in the future I will happily come in and also recommend to others. Thank you so much to Dr. Mitts & Staff! I was so worried about my Rottweiler, Bruno. He's never been sick & was not acting like himself at all. They got me in at the last minute on a Friday, no less.
