She has developed a tumor over the last couple of months, and I was concerned about how to go forward. Ultimately I knew it was time for us to see a new vet, and I’m so grateful we came here. I have had the opportunity to work as a contractor at Amity Woods. I'm behind the scenes when no one is watching (even the employees) so I think it shows that what I see is consistent. For the last 15 years we have been so impressed with the care, the results and the compassion that the entire staff at Amithy Woods has shown to our pets and to our family. Today we had to put down Percy, our last pet. 10 months ago we had to put down her Brother, Bubba. The dogs were over 14 years old and have received excellent care from Amity Woods during their lives. Very good option for cat lodging. The 17 year old cat visited for 10 days and enjoyed the visit. Visit the vet in advance and have the vet coordinate with the lodge for the required paperwork and the required flea and ticket treatment. The location includes a separate cat location and a cat play location with a cat tree. I knew I was impressed when I picked up my best friend's dog from boarding, and all the staff members were loving on him, telling us both how much they'd miss him. Then I rescued my own dog, and he came with a set of medical issues like non other. The staff has been incredibly patient while we try med after med after med. They've picked up the phone when I've called and talked things out with me. They've offered to run tests I didn't even know existed. One thing I know is, amity and their patients are family, and they treat each pet like they're a celebrity and the most important pet. Everyone from the vet to the receptionist are very friendly and know what their doing. I've taken two of my animals there who sadly had to be put down due to cancer. They sent a card for my ferret to my wife and I saying how sorry they are for our loss. When we had to put down our first baby together cat they took paw prints and put it into a cast and wrote her name on the other side along with another card with kind words for our loss. They know what they are doing and only care about well being of your animal whether it be a ferret, cat, dog, rabbits, rats and so on and so fourth. These people are amazing and actually cares for your animals. To me it doesn't matter how much money they ask as long as my animals are taken care of and they do this even if some times it's hard on us who remain in the physical world. Money isn't everything it's the well being of your animals that should be the most important thing. So if you want your animals to be in good hands then I highly recommend this place because they truly care and want what's best for your furbabies. Read Less

My dogs and I love amity, they go to doggie daycare and come home exhausted which makes it nice to have tired puppies after a long day of work. The staff is extremely professional and nice, I've never had a bad visit. Sadly I've lost a dog like most of us have, amity was extremely extremely supportive and understanding, and later i was given a clay paw print of my doggies paw. I took our Bettis in today, it would seem he ate some wire....he met Dr Sambel for the first time. Xrays showed he had passed it since xrays taken by a place up north yesterday. We used Amity a lot when Jody ran the lodge. Since then it has deteriorated. We first noticed it when our directions were not followed. We asked for some biscuits to be given them each day. After a 10 day stay, the biscuit box was unopened. This occurred twice. Second our dog came back with teeth marks in her ears. We found the small dog playtime is unsupervised. Our beagles were attacked by a Jack Russell the second time after the ear punctures and defended themselves. Because of this they are no longer allowed with other small dogs so we had to look for other options. We found two alternatives, Pete and Macs where the attendants care more for the dogs than the job, second larger enclosures and the same price, and finally best of all supervised play time both for the small dogs and larger dogs. Better yet though we found an at home service where my beagles are having a wonderful time. Good Luck if you decide to use Amity. Dr. Jones has more than met expectations as a veterinarian. My dog had an emergency surgery at another facility that resulted in my dog having some complications due to incorrect procedure. Dr Jones went out of his way to contact the other facility that is now taking 100% accountability for their mistake. Amity Woods has done a great job with my dogs. Was checking the webcam on our current "pups" Lab Mandy n Shorty Jack Jesse when "memories came flooding back of the last time we checked on Toby our Black Lab. We lost Toby over 2yrs ago. He was limping (had hip rep 10yrs prior. He suddenly went lame LATE that same evening and we couldn't get him a big boy 110lbs on his feet. Panic stricken we called Dr Jones at home. Without hesitating he said hold on I'll be right there. He and his son arrived put Toby in his truck and said follow me. He worked on him and after a few hours said he stable, we"ll stay with him. After a week he called and told us he was trying to hang on lifting his head wagging his tail but would never walk. It was time and again he was there with us when we said goodby. Kennel staff are young kids and dont care and the owner is there only for the money.... i called and they gave me a price for 3 days and was goin to be $67 . So i took my dog there to drop him off when i got there i gave them all of his shot records and paid for it upfront.. when i went back 3 days later to pick him up they brought him out and the young kid was so high that could not walk straight line and was laughing nonstop so i made a comment to the lady behind the desk and all she could do is say im sorry. Then she asked for me to sign the paper work and then she handed me a bill for $320 i told her i had paid in fullwhen i drop him off .she the said that was just for the the boarding this bill is for the shots and to be seen by the vet. So she called her "megan" and she came down and said that they dont take shot records from petsmart and thay had to give all the shots again and had to be seen by the vet. No one called to tell me or anything so i refused to pay and she said that they had my cc on file and would charge it.so i asked to talk to vet he want there that day or rest of the week..so whos looking at the animals then??? I asked if there is anyone else there to talk to about this and the office manger is gone and shes the only one there and that i would have to call later..i check my cc and they did bill me so i called and talked to carol and all she said its the " new girls" fault and the ones the trained her and she cant do anything about my charges so i asked to talk to the owner dr jones and she sent me to his vocie mail.. i have called to talk to him 7 times and hes either not there or they send me to vocie mail. This is a fantastic facility! Dr. Jones at Amity Woods was recommended to me by my local pet store Miles of Exotics. My dog injured himself while attempting to jump a fence. I called Amity shortly after. They were very nice and got me in the next morning! They were also very helpful telling me what to do for him until his appointment. Dr. Jones explained what they needed to do and explained the after care thoroughly. He answered all my questions while I was there. When I called with more questions the vet techs were also helpful! My dog is a large breed and the bill was less then what I was expecting! I was happy with the very reasonable pricing. Nothing was misquoted in any way. I highly recommend Amity Woods. A vet did snap at me once for being late for an appointment (after I waited in the waiting area for 15 minutes or so) but the care my dog has received has always been top notch. The vets and techs have always taken time to explain to me all of the options available in caring for my dog, explained in detail the expected costs of each option and presented me with all of the information necessary to make a decision regarding the care of my dog. This place is ridiculous. As far as looks yes they do have it going on, anything past that is a joke. Money seems to be the main thing for this staff. They overcharge for any services rendered, give you a quote that is well seems to be fair and then when it comes time to see a bill the quote you got goes out the window and you are charged nearly double the price. The main issue with this place is the left hand NEVER seems to know what the right hand is doing. They need to work on their communication skills to better care for the pets. They tell you one rate over the phone and then charge you another rate. I would not have used their so called services had I of known that there were untrained children that take care of your pets and they over charge by far. I called around and found 3 other places so far that chrage half their rate of which once again was not what they had quoted. None of their staff seems to be on the same page as far as any type of care or any other concerns regarding your pets. I have had multiple experiences with them so far where they would flat out tell you one thing then do another. The medical treatment I paid for in advance for my dog wasn't even being given to him until I said something about it, even then the other staff members weren't aware of what I was told by the other staff member, which seems to be the case quite often. They lure you in because yes the facility does look nice, but why would anyone want their loved animals cared for by a staff that doesn't know what they are doing half the time. You are better off going somewhere better and I can assure you there are many places better than this one in this area. And beware they are more concerned with $$$$$$$ than they are about your pets care. Read Less
