Dr. Kolich is the best Vet ever. My dog NEVER saw another Vet, even after we moved 30 miles away. I always trust a dog's instinct, and she was always SUPER excited to see him! The staff were great as well. On one occasion, I had a small fender bender on my way to take my dog for her yearly shots. When I called to let them know I'd be late, one of the receptionists actually asked where I was and came down AND PICKED UP MY DOG!!! So that I could finish dealing with the police, etc. All because they were concerned about the welfare of my baby dog! Just the best staff ever! The morning following the death of my dog, I went to the office as early as possible. While I was standing at the front desk, Dr. Kolich walked in and looked at me and instantly said, "Is it Hunny?" He knew her by name. And then because I was so grief stricken, he went to the car and carried her in for me. It just all meant so much to me. I can never express my gratitude enough. Thank you all! The ladies at the desk were extremely rude. The oldest lady would not say one word to me. I even tried talking to her and she just stared at me with her arms crossed. I called before my appointment and asked if they registered dogs and they said yes and quoted me a price. When I got to the facility they told me they didn't register. When I told the lady I called before hand she said fine she would do it. She told me she only does it for certain people because it's to hard. When I asked her how the registration process worked she got an attitude with me and avoided the question I had. So I explained to her this was my first time getting a pet registered and I wasn't sure how the process worked. I started to ask her if the tags would come in the mail and before I could finish she snapped at me and said we have your tags here. I had finally had it when I over heard them trying to register my dog as a pit bull! I had clearly written down on the paper that she was an English bulldog mastiff. I told them she was not a pit and the older lady again didn't acknowledge me but told the other lady to put down English bulldog because they wouldn't accept a mixed breed. There was so much more that happened but I don't want to write a book. Basically, my questions were avoided, the attitudes towards me were uncalled for, and I don't think my animals had a proper check up. Read Less

The only reason I would put 1 star is because of the groomer. She (Alyssa) does a great job on my dogs! However, the service from the receptionist (Michele) is terrible. She is one of the rudest, most impersonable, and horrible person I have ever come across. Handing over my dogs and my money to her is excruciating, since she is such an unpleasant person. Her attitude is beyond rude! How can someone keep a receptionist like that up front to greet people? I just don't understand. I will NEVER take my dogs to the vet there (Dr. Kolich), again! Not only are there extra additions to services without my knowing, until I have to pay (which Michele gives me a "that's your problem" spiel), but my dogs came back shivering. That NEVER happens, even when they just go there for a grooming session- only when they go to the vet!I have heard other customers (friends of mine) who have taken their pups there and they also have felt that they weren't taken care of either, when they go see Dr. Kolich! I KNOW dogs have lost their lives there, due to negligence. I stopped taking them to the vet there as soon as I found out! Just horrible. I just wished their groomer would work somewhere else. The vet is a really nice guy, does good work and seems caring, BUT his miserable receptionist, who is his wife is always miserable, complaining and was EXTREMELY rude the last time I went to this office. Because of her (because you have to deal with her extensively) I would probably not recommend this office. I demand when I'm paying money to a service that I get friendly people who take my money and this woman is NOT that. After reading many reviews here, I have to recommend them even less. When my dog was returned to me after being in their care and under anesthesia, he wasn't the same for about three weeks. It seemed like it took days for his personality to come back. He seemed ill. He's never acted like that when returned from any other clinic. I'd not bring your animal here. Read Less

Dr. Kolich has always been very kind to me and my family. We have been his clients for over 18 years. However, we will NEVER EVER go back to his office again. The woman who handles the front desk/receptionist area (who is his wife) is so very RUDE, CONDESCENDING, DISRESPECTFUL, very unpleasant and difficult to deal with. She had the audacity to use the F-bomb in front of my 9 year old daughter and make her cry. She always has a scowl on her face and a harsh, unpleasant demeanor, she has always spoken rudely to us as if she were perturbed by the very presence of other people. This is NOT the way you treat customers, let alone loyal, long-term ones. We finally decided enough was enough when Dr. Kolich put our 11 year old dog under anesthesia. He was supposed to clean his teeth and remove a cist on his back. When we picked up our dog and he forgot to take the cist off, she argued with us and had the nerve to tell us, "You didn't remind the doctor you wanted that done this morning, so he didn't do it, this is not his fault." Of course, we explained that no customer should have to "call and remind the doctor what he is supposed to do" for a procedure, especially after we had a pre-exam and we had already worked these details out. She was unwilling to work with us on the price for this mistake, argued it was our fault for not calling the doctor and reminding him what he was supposed to do. When we were trying to figure out how to right this mistake, she was unwilling to work with us and said we could put our elderly 11 year old dog under anesthesia AGAIN (something we told her we're not comfortable with, and also which we would have to pay for AGAIN at a barely reduced rate). So we asked to speak with the doctor regarding this ridiculous situation, and she refused and then got belligerent with us, started screaming and shouting at us, and then started using inappropriate language in front of our small child and brought our daughter and I to tears. She is so unpleasant and disrespectful, we have chosen to never return there again. Read Less

If i could give this place less than one star, I would.  The rudest, most inconsiderate, TERRIBLE group of employees and vets at this place.  DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE NO MATTER WHAT. NO. MATTER. WHAT.  I have an aging cat (16 y.o), and took her in to have a physical exam.  I discussed with the vet that I didnt want to do ANY blood work or diagnostic testing, other than the urine sample and overnight stay, for which he quoted me $40.  He agreed that any undue stress is not good for her, and when I left, I felt that we were on the same page for her treatment.  When I picked her up the next day, they had run completely unauthorized blood work, give her a prescription and charged me over $250!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No call, no discussion, nothing.  They STILL have not been able to give me the results of the 'urine' test they performed.  The lady who answers the phone is a real treat.  She is condescending and does not know what she is talking about.  I am absolutely livid at the way me and my pet were treated, and I am recommending to everyone i know to never take your pets to this death trap.  Wow. Terrible people, terrible place. Read Less

We had three Ferrets we adopted. One had a severe Adrenal problem, one developed cancer. They were all very attentive and helped them the best that they could. Surgery was done to remove a tumor on the one with Cancer, and he was made as comfortable as he could be. Having set appointments always got us seen on time. Expecting a single doctor to step out of surgery, is a bit of a high expectation. While I understand an emergency, I would not think that walking in to any clinic, animal or otherwise.. to have a Dr drop everything they were already doing. Read Less

On Tuesday, July 29th I noticed Buster & Ruby lying on the floor seizuring and pawing at their mouth. All 4 of the ferrets in the group had started shooting green, slimy, nasty stool out of their rears. These 4 ferrets were rescued and under the Kansas City Ferret Hotline shelter program looking for a home. I called my normal vet and he was not in. The staff at my clinic said there wasn?t a vet available that treated ferrets. I said ?no problem? I am going to call the vet the Hotline uses since they are Hotline ferrets. I called the Animal Clinic of Antioch Annex and told them my name and that I was fostering these ferrets for the Hotline and what my concern was about the seizuring on top of the slimy stool. I asked if Dr. Kolich was in and they said ?yes?. I told them I was on my way to their clinic to bring the ferrets in to see him because they really needed to be seen. When I got there I walked in on the dog side and put the carrier down on a chair. Nobody greeted me or even came to the front. After a few minutes someone finally came to the front. The woman immediately copped an attitude when I told her who I was, and that I just called and explained who the ferrets were and gave her a brief summary of what was happening. They told me I didn?t call and that the vet was in surgery. I asked if there was a vet tech to help since I had very little time to wait at the clinic and that the ferrets were seizuring and the stool was getting worse. They said no and they finally put me in a room. I told them I was going to give them a sample of the stool and watch to see if the 2 would seize again. Once I got a stool they were reluctant to take it. They told me he wouldn?t be out of surgery for an hour. I couldn?t wait that long. During this time, I had someone from the Hotline, on the phone talking to me and to the clinic. **** see another post for remainder... ran out of room*** Read Less

Of course, we explained that no customer should have to "call and remind the doctor what he is supposed to do" for a procedure, especially after we had a pre-exam and we had already worked these details out.

Read Less

If you love your pet do not take them there. Took my dog there while he was having a stroke, they said he was having seizures-there is a difference. They made me take him home overnight and bring him back the next morning-while he was in their care they never watered him or feed him and did not treat him-matter of fact they would not return my calls, I had to go there and wait! They charged $300 to do a simple blood test and give him antibiotics. Thanks to this poor treatment I lost my best friend Read Less

Read Less

I have been to several different vets in the Kansas CIty area. Although this office may be a little older; when my dog was taken to the emergency vet and charged a hefty fee for a shot and his assistant seen the bill for what was given, he lowered my bill for the over weekend stay she had to have. It was half of the bill at the emergency vet. He takes great pride in his work and answers any questions throughly so you understand.
