After 14 years of taking my pets to Animal Medical Center, I am done with AMC. Dr Kaemmer informed me today that for several months now, one of my dogs has been very difficult during his boarding stays. When I asked why this was the first I'd heard of it, she said "maybe my staff was scared to tell you for fear of how you'd react". She also said that the staff there get bitten by pets all of the time, and if they told all pet owners about incidents where their pets act up, the pet owners would turn it back on AMC and be critical of AMC's care. First of all, Dr. Kaemmer, as owner of AMC, should take full responsibility for what her staff does or doesn't do. Withholding information from owners about their pets' behaviors can be dangerous. One of the reoccurring issues, which no one ever mentioned to me until today, is that my dog with the reportedly bad behavior has been "attacking" my other dog while in boarding. While I can't even imagine how my 40-pound dog could "attack" my 70-pound dog without serious retribution, if it is, in fact, happening, I NEED TO KNOW THIS. They've allowed me to continue to board them together in the same kennel knowing they do not do well when boarded together. Withholding this information about my pets' behavior has proven to be detrimental to their well-being, as I've continued to board them together thinking all is well. I can tell you all is not well at AMC...They're more concerned about their reputation than the well-being of the pets in their care.Read Less
