I picked up a little dog that had just been hit by a car. I rushed to the nearest aninimal hospital to see if they could help. So disappointed. My mom and I have been going here for years and we loved it. It's never too expensive and have always enjoyed the staff.. until now. In December 2017 we took 2 of 4 of our cats in to get weighed for a de-worming treatment, they never showed us how to apply it on our cats we had to call back.. then today I notice one cat has worms AGAIN so I called and a lady told me that we were supposed to be back 2 WEEKS after the first treatment.. we had no idea and were never informed.. then she proceeds to tell me how they suddenly don't have my cats weight.. which in December I watched them write on their file. I'm not sure what's going on with them but I no longer will use them and I don't trust them with my cat or letting them have my info. Huge waste of my morning dealing with this. They were extremely sympathetic and kind to us and even followed up with a card that was signed by the entire staff. I've gone to this vet the last 2 times for shots on my dogs after getting recommended by a couple of people to go there. Today I went in because my dog had been really sick for the past couple of days. The vet did a thorough check up on her and did not over charge me or do unnecessary testing like my last vet would have done. He was super nice and listened to my concerns. I put my sweet and much-loved dog, Riley, down yesterday at Foxwood. For all of the animals I have had and all the vet clinics I have been in over the years. Dr. Migneco is, bar none, the kindest, most understanding, most sympathetic, most compassionate doctor I have ever encountered. She handled the bottomless well of tears shed by my husband and me as Riley laid down to sleep for the last time with the utmost courtesy and respect and kindness. The doctors and staff are so so amazing and genuinely care about our fur babies. We have cats and doctor Robertson is so knowledgeable, he knows any question I have ever ever asked. We move about 20 mins away from the area but I won't ever take my babies to another vet. They are so gentle with them, I never have an anxiety about taking them. Can't recommend them enough! Substandard care bordering on woeful neglect, a repetitively disorganized office staff amongst other things are pretty apparent from the get go. But, boy won't those prices come at you with a wham. I will no longer be taking either of my dogs here and sure as hell won't recommend this facility. My dog hadn't had any major health issues and I've always taken great care of her and now, she's deaf because the staff overlooked some pretty obvious prescription warnings and didn't bother with simple base line follow up advice that any reasonable vet facility takes care of. My dog has gone to Foxwood for several years. I have always had excellent service, the Doctors all of them are great at what they do. The staff is great. Exel suffered a bad illness a few months ago, I thought we were going to lose him. They took him in, explained everything (a few times as I was so upset), put him on an IV, and kept him thee all day. He was still so sick, so they had me take him to an overnight hospital so he could continue IV treatment and constant monitoring. The next day I picked him up and took him back to the vet (they monitor ed him there until the afternoon (on a Saturday). Yes it did cost money, they did work with me to keep the cost down as much as possible. My dog is a part of my family, we all love him so much and I feel the Foxwood family does too. I've been bringing my pets to Foxwood for 5 years how. They receive such wonderful care. The vets and the staff are so kind and obviously animal lovers. We see Dr. Harman and she is so great with the animals and they feel at ease with her. I've always been able to get in quickly if my pet is sick. The only clinic to take my pets! Staff is friendly (and able to clip my grumpy old dogs nails) and quick to help. Both vets are very knowledgeable and truly care about my pets when I bring them in. They don't make me feel rushed, and were extremely helpful and kind with our stray cat we took in that had aggressive cancer. Harman had to put her down while we were out of town, and she sat on the phone with me and discussed my options professionally and put our cat down in a very loving manner. Thanks Foxwood! Read Less

Dr. Rokey isn't there anymore and boy do I miss him. I brought my cat here for liver problems and they shoved her in a small, dirty cage and "hoped" she would eat instead of giving her a feeding tube. By the time they thought about giving her one, it was too late. The Northland Emergency Vet said that she wouldn't have even survived the surgery Dr. Roberson was going to give her that day. We ended up having to euthanize her. Dr. Roberson blames absolutely everything your cat could have on their diet, insisting on this special rabbit meat diet. This includes a visit for a sore on my cat's back. He didn't even touch him - just stated the diet again as usual. I had to bring my cat back a second time for an antibiotic injection, which cleared it up in a day. He just overgroomed because I went on a business trip and got addicted to the feeling. My cat was stressed out. Rabbit meat wouldn't have fixed the infected sore on his back. Don't take your pets here. Read Less

Completely Disappointed.My dog Mason injured his leg and was brought to Foxwood Animal Hospital for an exam with Dr Roberson. He was diagnosed with a cruciate ligament injury and was placed on meds to see he could get better and if surgery could be prevented. About two weeks later I came back to the office and was considering surgery. Dr Roberson was unavailable so the other vet, Dr Harman examined Mason. We had X-rays taken and he diagnosed Mason with a hip injury. She referred me to a specialist since hip injuries requires a specialist, while knee surgery could've been done at Foxwood.The orthopedic vet specialist finalized the diagnosis as an anterior/cranial cruciate ligament tear, in which surgery would cost $3,000. The specialist suggested that the TPLO, newer technique is done to larger dogs that need the stabilization. My dog is 17lbs, considered a small dog. The exam with the specialist cost me $100. Since common knee surgery could've been done at Foxwood, I called to get an estimate. Dr Roberson estimated that it would cost $800-1000 for a procedure that he calls "modified faciotomy" or intracapsular repair that the research shows that is no longer done in the United States due to poorer outcomes then other techniques available! http://www.veterinarypar…With that said, the condition of Mason is worsening due to time passed related to their misdiagnosis. I still asked him questions about the surgery, recovery time, outcome ect. I scheduled the surgery anyway because of the possibility of irreversible degeneration/arthritis. Dr Roberson said that he's had success with previous surgeries so I trusted his word. Mason was scheduled for surgery on the following Monday at 9am. I had unsettled feelings and questions that I wanted to ask him, after all, the procedure he uses isn't even done in the US! So I called Foxwood that morning. He called me back said that I had too many questions and he will not do the surgery. He basically also said I should just go back to the specialist and pay the $3000 vs. the $1000 that he would've charged. Making it seem like I'm getting such a deal and I shouldn't be able to ask anything. Remember that I am paying for all the previous office visits to Foxwood and the unnecessary costs/visit to the specialist due to the misdiagnosis.I had to get both of my dogs medical records from them. And when I did, I calmly told the person at the reception about the reason why I was not coming back. and to relay the message to the owner Dr Harman. Melanie the receptionist/vet tech or whoever, had to correct me by saying, "it's Dr Roberson not Robertson" rather just listening to what happened and just relaying the message as she was asked. The Vet's name is Robert Roberson. Give me a break.At the end of the day, my dog Mason is the one that has to suffer. Prolonging his surgery/recovery and possible worsening of his condition. Look for a more compassionate and a competent vets / staff then what was shown at Foxwood Animal Hospital. Read Less

She spent time with my puppies and really cared about their problems while being very intelligent about the overall situation. I was just reading where the new vet there insists that someone in that neighborhood stops feeding 1 feral cat, the vet would apparently see him starve to death than someone attempt to help him. No I won't ever take my babies there, or in strays they deserve more compassion than she has. As a vet I would think that she would have more helpful suggestions with a stray than to let him starve. I have taken 2 of my dogs to see Dr Harman and Dr Roberson.The first time I had an appointment,got in quick and out quick.Dr Roberson treated my dog as his own.He's very compassionate and I would never take my dogs anywhere else. The second visit was an emergency and I took our 10 year old Jack Russell as soon as possible.Dr.Harman was out to lunch and I figured that we would have to wait behind those that had appointments.It wasn't 10 minutes after she came back from lunch that she came in to see us.She has a big heart for animals and she goes above and beyond to take care of those that come to her office.I read these reviews a couple of days ago and wasn't going to give my own review,but for someone to comment that Dr Harman would suggest that they let a ferral cat starve is just absurd! Yes, the building is a little old, and the location is a bit out of the way, although very easy to get to (I-35 to Vivion). But Dr. Rokey is really nice, very considerate, and thorough, and his vet techs?especially Dawn?are really nice too. (I'm sure the other vet is fine as well; I've just never seen him.) We had changed to another vet several years ago, and while they gave our animals good care, we always felt that we couldn't get in when we needed to, and that their prices were awfully steep. Yesterday afternoon, we called to get our dog into this other vet for an emergency, were unable to, and so I called Foxwoods. Even though they had never seen our dog before, they let us bring her in, and she received excellent care. She is back there today for more care, and I feel confident that we will not change vets again. The two doctors are very competent, kind, and the staff is compassionate and invariably helpful.
