Your pet is your best friend, companion, and (most importantly) your family member. At Noah's Ark, we provide veterinary medicine that centers around your pet and you as an owner. We strive to offer you and your pet the care necessary to enjoy a long and healthy relationship.
Noah’s Ark Animal Clinic was founded in 1970 and has been providing outstanding veterinary care to Brookside and the Kansas City area for over 30 years. Since 1992, Dr. Jane Jeffries has been at the helm. With a deep love of animals and a vision of providing her patients with the same level of medical care and attention given to human patients, Dr. Jeffries has brought Noah’s Ark to where it is today – a four veterinarian, full-service facility offering progressive treatment for pets in a warm and caring environment.
Jane Jeffries, DVM, Practice Owner
Dr. Jane Jeffries, practice owner since 1992, has been practicing veterinary medicine since 1989. Dr. Jane is a graduate of Kansas State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Jane loves her Noah’s Ark clients and the Brookside community.
“Brookside is so much like a small town. I’ve grown to know my clients well over the years and I deeply appreciate the confidence they have bestowed upon me as well as in Noah’s Ark Animal Clinic. I am truly committed to providing their beloved pets with the excellent care they deserve.” Dr. Jane has several furry family members at home including Steve and Marilyn, her Labradors, her tabby cat, Joy, and Cody, a quarter horse.

Kris Neuhauser, DVM
Dr. Kris Neuhauser is a 2004 graduate of the University of Missouri's College of Veterinary Medicine. After growing up in Kansas City, she spent the next 10 years in other parts of Missouri for school and work, but she is happy to be back home for good. She has always enjoyed the Brookside area and and loves being a member of such a pet-loving community.
"Noah's Ark has the special combination of caring, knowledge that make it a very special place to work. I love that I am able to get to know our patients and clients on a personal level." Dr. Kris and her husband, Eric, live with their children Claire and Henry and their three cats, Abby, Clif, and Leroy. Outside of work, Kris enjoys jogging, reading, going to the park and zoo with the kids and trying new restaurants.

Sarah Burkindine, DVM
Dr. Sarah Burkindine graduated in 2002 from Kansas State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. After completing an internship in small animal internal medicine and surgery in a large specialty practice in Atlanta, Georgia, she moved back home to Kansas City. She has spent the last five years practicing in southern Johnson County. With special interest in difficult cases, surgery and ophthalmology, she is dedicated to serving the patients and clients of Noah's Ark Animal Clinic. “I treat all of my patients and their human families as I would want to be treated myself. I strive to strengthen the human-animal bond with all that I do. I am happy to be a part of the Noah’s Ark family!”
Dr. Burkindine lives in Prairie Village with her Keeshound mix, Gabby, and her ragdoll cat, Shadow.

I have taken my pets to that location for convenience since the 70's. I met the current owner , Dr. Jane Reborn, DVM (K State) in the late 80's and was instantly impressed with her demeanor, however, anyone can be gentle and caring with pets...moreover, through the years she has shown her ability and knowledge of veterinary medicine with my pets and at least a dozen of my friends. When she was voted Dr. of Veterinary Medicine of the year (!) it did not surprise me. Nuff said.

What can I say about Noah's Ark? These fine doctors are wonderful human beings who give their time, emotion and effort I to caring for our fur babies day in and day out. I can't thank them enough for their commitment to the livelihood of my animals. I am always greeted with a smile, they know me and my dogs, and are precise in their diagnosis of the problem at hand. Ihave been going to them for over 10 years and would recommend to everyone that they should too.

I can't believe that I haven't written a review for this most wonderful vet clinic and for my most awesome vet yet. I regret that it's taken me so long to think about it! I've been a client for about 5 years now. In that time, Dr. Kris and the exceptional staff at The Ark (as I like to call it) have helped my family of furkids through major medical crises and serious illnesses. They have also treated chronic conditions with expertise, diagnosed illnesses that were difficult to pin down, and performed routine veterinary care (including euthanasia) with skill, care, and love. Kris has been there for us during some of the most difficult times we've ever experienced: She's given us sad news, she's held me when I cried, and most importantly, she truly cares about my dogs and my cats. Kris is also a top veterinary doctor: a sharp critical thinker, a skilled surgeon, and a creative problem-solver who is full of empathy for her patients (and, I believe, for her clients). Her guidance and support have been especially helpful to me when it comes to making end-of-life decisions, and I'm so grateful for that. I also adore the vet techs there, and I'm not listing their names only because I'm afraid I might accidentally leave one out! Every single person who works at this practice--clinical and nonclinical staff--is a friend of mine now. They've seen my ugly cry dozens of times at this point, but they don't mind. I'm lucky to know these smart, caring, skilled folks and to have them taking care of my beloved animal family. If I were to list every single time that they have gone well beyond the call of duty for my family, then that list would be a mile long.

Found lumps on my dog's chest and was afraid they might be tumours, was able to get an appointment the next day and was shown straight to a room where we had very little wait time to see a doctor. They were able to take samples with a syringe and confirm that they were benign lipomas. The whole visit was under $100 and was well worth it to make sure our dog was healthy and did not have cancer.
Staff was friendly and even had treats on hand that I was able to use to coax my dog into holding still. They were very gentle with him and the whole experience was very easy on him, even though he usually gets overly excited. We had been looking for a Kansas City veterinarian to be our go-to vet, and I believe we've found it!

Veterinarians are excellent and provide very good care. however, staff is not trained in customer service or how to maintain loyal clients.Unfortunately, my neighbor became blind and asked me to pick up dog food at clinic for her pet shortly after she lost her vision. I was advised by their accounts receivable person that they do not allow any charging. After multiple conversations the clinic staff at Noah's Ark was very disrespectful, unprofessional and downright mean. We have immediately switched our two pets to a nearby, much more professional and caring Vet clinic which is locally (owned unlike Noahs Ark who is owned by a management company based in Chicago).

I love this clinic. The vets and technicians are professional and always friendly. My dog is a bit stranger-wary. The doctor and staff always sit down on the floor with her during appointments, talking to her and giving her treats until she ends up cuddling with her head in the one of their laps. They can always get her to relax. When we had to take our dog to the emergency vet, we got a call from our vet at Noah's Ark as soon as the paperwork was faxed to her. Loved that. We're to the point where staff recognizes our dog when we stop by to weigh her or pick up her favorite treats (very inexpensive and not sold in stores). So glad that Noah's Ark was recommended to us. It's a truly wonderful place.

We followed Dr Noella Allan here from Lakewood Animal Health Center and couldn't be happier with our choice. The staff at Noah's Ark are friendly and helpful. Dr Allan is absolutely wonderful!! She truly cares about animals and is very skilled and knowledgable in her field. We are moving out of state soon and I am absolutely devastated that we have to find another vet to care for our fur babies. She always picks up my little dogs, loves on them, and really does listen to owners and their concerns. She even calls and checks on them after their visit if they were sick. You will not be disappointed with Dr Allan or Noah's Ark!!

The absolute best in KC! World class Vets and amazingly compassionate care. They go above and beyond any expectations you may have of them. No rubbish, straight-shooting good and honest people there.

I have taken my pets to that location for convenience since the 70's. I met the current owner , Dr. Jane Reborn, DVM (K State) in the late 80's and was instantly impressed with her demeanor, however, anyone can be gentle and caring with pets...moreover, through the years she has shown her ability and knowledge of veterinary medicine with my pets and at least a dozen of my friends. When she was voted Dr. of Veterinary Medicine of the year (!) it did not surprise me. Nuff said.

What can I say about Noah's Ark? These fine doctors are wonderful human beings who give their time, emotion and effort I to caring for our fur babies day in and day out. I can't thank them enough for their commitment to the livelihood of my animals. I am always greeted with a smile, they know me and my dogs, and are precise in their diagnosis of the problem at hand. Ihave been going to them for over 10 years and would recommend to everyone that they should too.

I can't believe that I haven't written a review for this most wonderful vet clinic and for my most awesome vet yet. I regret that it's taken me so long to think about it! I've been a client for about 5 years now. In that time, Dr. Kris and the exceptional staff at The Ark (as I like to call it) have helped my family of furkids through major medical crises and serious illnesses. They have also treated chronic conditions with expertise, diagnosed illnesses that were difficult to pin down, and performed routine veterinary care (including euthanasia) with skill, care, and love. Kris has been there for us during some of the most difficult times we've ever experienced: She's given us sad news, she's held me when I cried, and most importantly, she truly cares about my dogs and my cats. Kris is also a top veterinary doctor: a sharp critical thinker, a skilled surgeon, and a creative problem-solver who is full of empathy for her patients (and, I believe, for her clients). Her guidance and support have been especially helpful to me when it comes to making end-of-life decisions, and I'm so grateful for that. I also adore the vet techs there, and I'm not listing their names only because I'm afraid I might accidentally leave one out! Every single person who works at this practice--clinical and nonclinical staff--is a friend of mine now. They've seen my ugly cry dozens of times at this point, but they don't mind. I'm lucky to know these smart, caring, skilled folks and to have them taking care of my beloved animal family. If I were to list every single time that they have gone well beyond the call of duty for my family, then that list would be a mile long.

Found lumps on my dog's chest and was afraid they might be tumours, was able to get an appointment the next day and was shown straight to a room where we had very little wait time to see a doctor. They were able to take samples with a syringe and confirm that they were benign lipomas. The whole visit was under $100 and was well worth it to make sure our dog was healthy and did not have cancer.
Staff was friendly and even had treats on hand that I was able to use to coax my dog into holding still. They were very gentle with him and the whole experience was very easy on him, even though he usually gets overly excited. We had been looking for a Kansas City veterinarian to be our go-to vet, and I believe we've found it!

Have been going to Noah's Ark for several years for our English bulldog. What a great team. They are a caring group of vets and support team and would not go anywhere else. We use them for checkups and boarding services as well as kibble. Reasonable prices. They love animals and it shows. .we love Noah's ark.

She stayed after hours and talked to me and gave me some new food samples to try since my cat us having urinary issues. Id give them 10 stars if I could. Peetey and I are greatful..

Dr. Noella is the BEST vet I've ever worked with. She is gentle, caring and beyond attentive. You can tell she genuinely cares about the animals she encounters and strives to provide them with the best care possible. I wish we could have moved her to Denver with us, as we've struggled to find a vet her who even comes close to providing the care and competency Dr. Noella did.

Dr Noella Allan is brilliant, hardworking, keeps up with all the latest advances and encourages questions. She's kind and caring. Like many of her patients I insisted on staying with her when she moved to Noah's Ark even though it's much harder to get to for me. I'm so glad she's available to see my pets.

Veterinarians are excellent and provide very good care. however, staff is not trained in customer service or how to maintain loyal clients.Unfortunately, my neighbor became blind and asked me to pick up dog food at clinic for her pet shortly after she lost her vision. I was advised by their accounts receivable person that they do not allow any charging. After multiple conversations the clinic staff at Noah's Ark was very disrespectful, unprofessional and downright mean. We have immediately switched our two pets to a nearby, much more professional and caring Vet clinic which is locally (owned unlike Noahs Ark who is owned by a management company based in Chicago).

I love this clinic. The vets and technicians are professional and always friendly. My dog is a bit stranger-wary. The doctor and staff always sit down on the floor with her during appointments, talking to her and giving her treats until she ends up cuddling with her head in the one of their laps. They can always get her to relax. When we had to take our dog to the emergency vet, we got a call from our vet at Noah's Ark as soon as the paperwork was faxed to her. Loved that. We're to the point where staff recognizes our dog when we stop by to weigh her or pick up her favorite treats (very inexpensive and not sold in stores). So glad that Noah's Ark was recommended to us. It's a truly wonderful place.

We followed Dr Noella Allan here from Lakewood Animal Health Center and couldn't be happier with our choice. The staff at Noah's Ark are friendly and helpful. Dr Allan is absolutely wonderful!! She truly cares about animals and is very skilled and knowledgable in her field. We are moving out of state soon and I am absolutely devastated that we have to find another vet to care for our fur babies. She always picks up my little dogs, loves on them, and really does listen to owners and their concerns. She even calls and checks on them after their visit if they were sick. You will not be disappointed with Dr Allan or Noah's Ark!!
