I give them no stars! Do not take your pet here for the daycare! I recently took my pet here and was told that she was aggressive and so she needed to have special treatment by being placed in a kennel and frequently let out to be played with. I left her and ran some errands that day I dropped her off at 2 and picked her up at 5:30. My dog is a shepherd mix and I just adopted her from KC pet project I’ve only had her a couple months and she is very sweet she loves people and she may act aggressive when on a leash towards other dogs but once off the leash she’s the sweetest to everyone and any dog that aproaches her. She is taken to the dog park a lot so she isn’t nervous or anxious at all when around new people or new dogs. After picking her up I noticed her whole deminor was different she was walking around as if something had happened to her. She was emotionally distraught and when I got home she was very skiddish and went right to her kennel. I then looked at her and discovered a pretty good sized gash on her right lower leg. This gash was NOT there when I dropped her off. By this point I was furious this was her first time even going to a daycare and she had a big gash on her leg. It was 6 pm so I could do nothing except call in the morning. So I called and then I was told that my dog was aggressive so she wasn’t allowed to be in the daycare with the other dogs so instead she was kenneled. The girl that handled my dog told me that nothing out of the ordinary happened to my dog she said my dog was very anxious and jumped on top of all the other dogs to get to the door when she was taken out of her kennel. I was told that my dog may have did this herself and that they would check for blood or sharp areas in the kennel where she was kept. This wound looks as if there was an altercation with my dog. The staff was very nice and willing to look at my dog even though they were all booked for appointments. So I wasted my gas going to liberty and they looked at my dog and called it a “scratch” when clearly it was far more than that. To get a better look they took her back to look at her gash and then brought her back to try to tell me that the wound was a “scab” and it’s three days old and that this didn’t happen here at daycare and that there was no way to no what happened. I was beyond unhappy with this because we both knew that was not the truth. If it was three days old I would have seen it I’m around my dog all day most of the time. When I leave she is put in a safe $159.00 kennel with padding and plenty of room to roam. I think someone’s back was turned when this altercation happened or someone’s not telling the whole story. I am very upset with this place I will not be coming back. I do not trust these people with my dog. My dog clearly went through some trauma by the way she was acting and is still acting today. This would be a different story if they would have called me and told me or told me what had happened when I picked my dog up and then if they tried to handle it or wrap up the wound. But none of that was taken place. If I brought her in with a wound I would have told the staff or made note of it in the paperwork I had to fill out in order for her to be there. The wound is pretty obvious and you can easy spot it out. Everyone in that office and myself all know that I did NOT bring my dog into daycare with a quarter size gash on her leg. This had happened there because she hasn’t been anywhere else where this could have happened. Very unsatisfied with them. Read Less

His first day of daycare was today and I was skeptical at first if it worked. He came home and still wanted to play play play and then all of a sudden, he disappeared. I found him on the kitchen floor passed out! SUCCESS!!! I watched him for most of the day on the doggie cam! He seemed to be having so much fun just running around and being a dog! I don’t know where to start on how much I love these people. I started taking my lab to Dr. Cowan and bringing her to the day care when we moved to the area when she was a young 3 year old. They all have loved her like their own and I always knew she was in good hands. As she started to age Dr. Cowan gave me lots of ideas on how to keep her healthy and active. I can’t say enough about Adequin injections! However, right after Thanksgiving we had to put our now 15 year old ...fur baby to sleep. This has been extremely difficult for me, but the staff have been absolutely the best. They cried with our family and did everything possible to make it a comforting moment. I just recently picked up her ashes and was also given her paw print in clay and a card signed by all of them with kind words of our dear Lucky. It will take me a long time before I can have another dog, but when I do they will come here! See More Read Less

Took my dog in perfectly fine, happy, healthy and very playful, just for an annual well visit. He wasn't the same after we left there. Didn't eat all day and hardly wanted to drink, play or even walk. Thought maybe side effects from the shotts. But it's because veterinarian created a problem by irritating and puncturing anal abscess. My poor dog is now bleeding from his rectum area, less than 24 hours after his appointment. Took him in today and they wanted to charge me. ... Now they said they can express/drain it for a cost... for a problem their veterinarian caused! Veterinarian was very rude, sarcastic, obnoxious, and unprofessional! Of course she denied that it was her fault! Owner refuses to take calls from customers. Very money hungry! Do not take your pet here! They will rob you of your money! They don't care about animals, they won't care about your pet, just care about making money with unethical practices. If you love your pet, please don't take him/her there! All is good, as long as they don't screw up your pet's health! When they do mess up, they will not own up to their mistakes and will not take fault to avoid lawsuits and claims, and also to make money off! See More Read Less

All they care about is money, not the health or wellbeing of your pet. I recently spent $400 to have my dog seen here, partially for concern of an ear infection, and as the week went on his ear was actually getting worse--even though I was told there was no infection. He was shaking his head, there was yellow drainage and a foul odor coming from his ear. I called Shoal Creek to see if I could get him seen and told them he was just there less than a week prior and I'd like to get it reassessed. I was told I'd be charged again to be seen by the vet. I told them I'd gladly pay for medicine, but as I was just seen there 6 days prior maybe they could do something about an additional exam fee. The answer was no, I'd be charged again. I will never be going back to this joke of an office. So much for follow-up visits or customer service. There are much better veterinarians in the area and they will provide much better care than the care your pet could get at this place. Read Less

Please do not take your animals here. I wouldn’t wish what we are going through on my worst enemy. We boarded our dog at Shoal Creek Animal Lodge over Labor Day weekend. We dropped off a happy, energetic and healthy 2 year old French bulldog. We picked up a dog paralyzed and in pain. They carried him out to my husband saying that when they tried to take him for his morning walk his legs wouldn't work. No one knows what happened to him or when. No one bothered to call us or take him to the animal hospital attached to the facility where he is an established patient. They also did not provide us with his normal logs at the time of pick up that show when he was cared for. With spinal injuries immediate action is imperative which we have no idea when it occurred. We called them and demanded he be seen and that someone be responsible for this. They saw him and did a quick exam and said French bulldogs are prone to spine problems and that they are not responsible. "It just so happened he had an incident while he was there, it could have happened at any time." They sent him home with prednisone and muscle relaxers and no pain medication. They did not do an xray. How can they make the assumption that he was predisposed to spinal problems without doing any diagnostic testing and no history of any health issues including spine problems. They did not give us instruction on how to express his bladder seeing that paralyzed dogs can’t pass urine on their own or even mention this to us. They did not tell us how to care for him at all or support his spine. They told us "Feel free to get a second opinion." This is all from the facility that had always treated him. They were so busy not claiming responsibility that they did not provide adequate care or concern. Once he was home he was in so much pain that he flopped around like he was having a seizure. Most likely this made it even worse. This could have been avoided if they provided us with pain medication and instruction on how to care for him. They have never once called to check on him and see how he is doing. However, they did call later that day to tell us that they wouldn’t bill us for the visit but we have a balance on our account for the medication. Since having him home we have found that he has a loose front bottom tooth, a 1 inch laceration on the back of his head, and two puncture marks on the right side of his neck/shoulder area. It makes me sick to not know what happened to him. We have no idea if he will ever improve and we don't have the money for surgery and all the extensive treatment he may require. I am disgusted at the lack of care and concern for what happened to him while he was there. I will never know if it truly was a malformation that caused the paralysis or trauma. How can you pay for your pet to be safe and taken care of and they have no responsibility if the animal becomes injured while in their care. My family is traumatized. They proved to be the exact opposite of their mission statement. I pray no one else has to endure what we are going through. Read Less

Shoal Creek Animal Hospital was built not too many years ago. I've spent a lot of time in the area, in fact living there most of the last 15 years but leaving for a bit, shortly after Shoal Creek Animal Hospital was built. The building looked amazing for an animal hospital and frankly, I felt like it was probably outside my budget. So a little less than a week ago, my dog of eleven years was accused by a neighbor of biting them. Never mind the politics and unfortunate events that followed over the holiday weekend before I could get my dog transferred to Shoal Creek to serve out her 10 day quarantine, Mousse was transferred on a Tuesday and within an hour of hitting the ground, she'd already been bathed and dotted on by the staff. She couldn't hang out with the other dogs but the staff promised they'd give her extra love and attention and in watching them interact with her, they were profoundly sincere in promising to take good care of her during this unfortunate time. They encouraged me to bring her bed and toys and made her and themselves available for me to visit her as often as I could. Biting is not within my dog's character but they didn't know that, to them she wasn't a bad dog who got into trouble, she was an eleven year old Chocolate Lab that needed care and they were more than capable and willing to give the best care they could. Brilliant work to the staff at Shoal Creek Animal Hospital. I couldn't say better things about them. Read Less

Read Less
