I was referred to Dr. Hormuth after my cat had a botched spay at another clinic 15 years ago. She was amazing and we have been with her ever since. She always presents all of the options for treatment, not just the most expensive one. I can tell she really cares about my pets and they adore her. When she's not available we are able to see one of the other vets who have all been great as well. I also LOVE the Vet Techs! They are friendly, caring and super helpful when you call. We typically see Dr Acree, and she is absolutely fabulous. Today we had vaccines and our boy had a reaction. We called right as they closed. They saw our number and realized he’d been seen that day. Worried for us, they called us back right away and stayed late to see him. This was done, for free, by Dr Whiting. Every vet and tech we have encountered there has been compassionate and competent. We switched to KAH based on a recommendation of a friend. We love all of the people there. They always make time for my 3 dogs (emergency or not). You are moved quickly into an exam room and pay in the room so your pet does not have the stress of waiting in the lobby. The doctor's take time to listen to you and give you practical advice. We absolutely love Kirkwood Animal Hospital!  We started bringing our little Diesel here when we lived in the area. And now that we moved to the DC Metro Area, we still love this place!  We would not trust anyone else with the care of our fur-baby. The staff are amazing and treats us well and Dr. Hormuth is truly top notch!  The care, patience and understanding she has with pets is amazing!!!  She ALWAYS take her time to discuss every single detail of treatment and best practices. Today, our little guy had a small surgery and teeth cleaning, and we could not be more thrilled with the results and care. Kirkwood Animal Hospital is great. I usually see Dr. Schuessler for my cat but have seen other vets there and always had great service and care. I would never go anywhere else. They have evening and weekend hours and it usually doesn't take long to get in for an appointment. The office is clean and appointments are efficient. I rarely wait more than a few minutes. They also have a drive-thru pharmacy for picking up meds, which is nice. The entire team not only takes great care of my pet but also took care of me during some challenging times saying goodbye to a pet.
