Stuck up technicians. Doctors are nice but most of the nursing staff is rude and judgemental. Technicians make new people feel unwelcome and unworthy. Very uncomfortable work environment. Would not recommend. Read Less

i Took my sick dog there. Without even doing a basic exam the female doctor suggested “we should do an exray fit $130 and privenly schedule exploratory surefery and soar dog wile we at it for $800. $30 got every day she stayed at clinic. I opted to take my dog to MU after giving her $140 for no help. My dog had a UTI. Easily treated with antibiotics!!!!I wonder if DR Herzog knows how his employees work. Read Less

I don't usually write reviews, but i wanted to say something about this hospital. I have taken my dogs (and now a ferret) here for several years and have experienced visits with several different veterinarians at this practice. I've never had a bad experience with any of them and my most recent visit today was the best yet. Dr. Bock was awesome. His "bedside manner" with both dogs and people is great. He was very thorough and didn't make me feel rushed or like I was taking up too much of his time. I could tell he had a genuine love of animals and his job. The prices here are pretty reasonable as well. All of the staff, including the folks running the front end are super nice. I would recommend them to my friends. Read Less

I have taken my dog there multiple times and they have always been wonderful. One of my dogs had surgery and was treated for cancer and I couldn't have asked for better care. If I could give zero I would.. I purchased a ball python a while back and discovered it had mites. I called ls animal hospital to see if they had an exotic pet doctor since I take all my other furry friends there I wanted to stay local. They assured me Dr. Hertzog would be a great doctor for my snake. I took him in for a check up and to get some meds for his mites. Dr. Hertzog sprayed DOG flea and tick spray on my snake.. hours later he began seizing.. I watched him suffer for hours whole frantically trying to get ahold of the doc but with no luck.. we eventually had to ask someone to put him down. I took my dogs to Lee's Summit Animal Hospital for 20 years. Our kids' favorite doctor was Dr. Gary Austin, but every one of the staff members there is really wonderful with the animals and the animal parents. We moved to Montana and I wish I could have taken Dr. Austin with us! I can't say enough about this place - even through the loss of 5 of my fur babies over the years, the compassion shown by the people at this animal hospital is more than just above and beyond. They are more about taking care of the animals than worrying about the bill. When my Kodiak got Bloat and had to stay there for a week after major surgery that cost us over $5000, I said, what am I going to do about the bill? The response was "Let's not worry about that and just get Kodiak well and home. We will worry about the bill later". I will NEVER forget that. Thank you so much for the love you showed to all of my fur babies over the years and the kindness shown when we lost one of our fur babies, each time it happened.Read Less

They've seen our cat 10+ times in the last 2 years. She's had problem after problem, that they cannot seem to figure out. They recently gave an archaic method of medicine that is BAD for cats, to our cat. That ultimately led to her death. The staff up front is rude and always appear that they are just hating life and hate their jobs. The vets (we've seen 4 of the docs) don't really seem to care either. They make you feel like a number, just another patient to get in & get out. They've seen our 3 dogs too. For regular exams, etc...and they hardly check them. Not worth whatever it is they charge. We've gone to 3 other vets in the area, and every single one of them says LS Animal Hospital uses old methods, cuts corners, etc. We've mentioned our experience, and they literally guessed that it was LS Animal Hospital. That's ridiculous. Not going here ever again.Read Less

We just adopted or second kitten from here, and the staff was so friendly! Our vet was super nice and gave my boys the chance to look under the micro scope to educate them. What a great experience for them both. They also were very helpful in educating us on our next steps with our kitten. The staff was sweet enough to also let the boys go play with the other kittens while awaiting there kitties first check up. Thanks again... we will always be happy to keep coming back. ! Read Less

I absolutely love this vet office! Dr. Hertzog has been our vet with both our horses and our dogs and cats and he's an excellent vet. He also sees exotics - we saw a monkey in the office one time! Since Doc Hertzog is semi-retired, I usually see Dr. Theiss now. He's a great vet and very kind and caring. And the girls in the front office are always very helpful and always have smiles on their faces. I wouldn't go anywhere else!! Read Less

Time is precious, so I will make this short as possible. Our story is too long with 3 dogs and 3 cats...but I just have to say, we stumbled upon LS Animal Hospital only because our vet of 10 years decided not to help when our dog had clipper burn from the groomer. In our first year with LS Animal Hospital, they have literally saved our two dogs...one was hit by a car...and the other is suffering from "older" age, but still has so much life yet to live! We love our babies and just hope that the staff at Lees Summit Animal Hospital knows how grateful we are for their tender care and superior level of service. Read Less
