I've been meaning to write this review for quite some time, so I'm finally sitting down to it. I have lived all over the country and Dr. Voris at Lees Summit Animal Hospital North is the best vet I've ever had. I have great danes and cats, and no matter what I have ever needed to bring them in for, Dr. Voris always has the time. The things I like most about this clinic: 1. I can get an appointment the same day I call, sometimes within an hour of calling. 2. The cost of treatment here is the best I've seen. I have lived in the big apple, in the middle of the desert, in the gulf coast, and in the mountains, and I've always been charged office visit fees at the other vets I've seen, but not with Lees Summit Animal Hospital. They charge me for the initial visit, but all on-going appointments (same issue, same animal) are free of charge, minus any tests or medication. 3. Dr. Voris never tries to scare me into getting lab work or other tests run that he doesn't see as immediately necessary. One of my great danes got really sick out of nowhere and Dr. Voris did a normal physical and blood work. We made medical decisions together based on the symptoms instead of the cost. Other vets have tried to scare me into getting ultrasounds and xrays without first having initial results from blood work back, and without the presence of symptoms that would suggest the need for such things, but Dr. Voris cares more about what's best for the patient, not his pocketbook.4. When he doesn't know the medical answer, he always consults with the other vets within the Lees Summit Animal Hospital system, and even reaches out to area specialists to get the answer. Once again, he puts the patient and parent first. It turns out my dane has atypical Addison's disease, which shows up suddenly and can kill a dog left undiagnosed. Because of Dr. Voris's quick research and consultation, we caught it within 36 hours of the first appointment, and it's all because he took the time to look into the symptoms after my dog's blood work came back normal. 5. No matter where I have lived, because my family is in KC, if I come visit and have the animals, I know I can always bring them in without having to start over at a new vet. 6. The staff, everyone at this facility, is always pleasant. My first dane died unexpectedly right after I had purchased a year's supply of heartworm and flea/tick preventative, and when I called them to tell them what happened, they were heartbroken with me. They also mentioned that I could bring the unused prevention meds in for a refund. As strange as it might seem, it made the burden slightly easier to bare, not being out nearly $300 with no dog. I simply can't say enough about this clinic. I still call and ask questions even though I don't live there, and I always get answers. I am forever grateful that Dr. Voris saved my boy's life and has looked after all of my fur kids with the best intentions. I wish I could find a vet just like him everywhere I live. Life would be so much easier! Read Less
