If you love your animals, find another vet. The kennels are so overcrowded during busy days, It is worse than any pound I have ever seen. The Dr's kids run around this place like it is a playground, including in the surgery room. Compassion only showed when the pet owners are around. I don't trust the staff here. 1. I scheduled a rabies shot and nail clip, with a quoted price. When I checked out, I was charged a shot, nail clip, and exam. I was charged more than my quoted price. This happens almost every time I come in. 2. After the shot and nail clip, the tech came in and said the vet examined my dog (which I didn't ask for), didn't see anything wrong, and needed to call me if I had any questions because he had an emergency to get to. I didn't mind that all. But then, the vet came in. I said, " Oh, don't you have an emergency to get to? I don't have any questions." He said he didn't have an emergency to get to. So, either the tech lied or the vet lied. It just made for an awkward moment. 3. Since the vet was in the room, and I guess didn't have an emergency to get too, I ended up talking to him further. He was so stone face and cold as we were talking about a variety of subjects; the passing of my other dog, the dog food I feed my current dog, etc. I try not to let other people's personalities effect me, because we all are different, we are not robots. But that's the thing, he's so robotic, no emotion. It makes me feel like he's just reading from a script, not from experience or from the heart. Because of frequent unexpected charges, untruths, and vets that speak to you with no care or emotion, I give them only 1 star. The one star is only for their convenient location. Read Less

One of our dogs had breast cancer and they worked very hard with us to ensure her treatment was affordable yet effective. When we first started going to Raintree thier office was in a small mini mall type building and our experience was wonderful. Dr. Placke was wonderful, he took his time and listened to my grandmother. Being hard if hearing I normally went with her and her beloved iguana. Now back then, Dr.Placke was a very different kind of individual and it showed. The poor iguana was just a baby then some 6 years ago. And had devolved egg binding. Dr. Placke and his staff took a real interest in "Pretty Girl" and my grandmother Loved that. Now don't get me wrong Dr.Placke saved her iguanas life. Having no real experience in reptile care, he performed surgery on pretty Girl with the aid of a colleague via phone. The operation went smoothly and not only Pretty Girl was saved but I think a tiny part of my grandmother was too. It may sound silly, but it's the little things that count to a woman of her age i suspect. I'm positive She will never forget what he did for her that day, I know I won't. And over the course of 6 more years my grandmother put dollar after dollar into pretty girls health. Even to the point they were attaching instruments to the lizards legs to ease its sore thighs. Dr. Placke's effort meant the world to my grandmother, he was kind helpful and his words of encouragement meant everything to her. So it was a great shame when the day came that he quit on her. Slipping out backdoors so as not to be seen on the last days of her appointments. Having her pay for lab work only to not return her phone calls on the results. Or make empty promises of returning the concerned phone calls of a worried elderly women. Thanks for memories Mr. Placke both the good ones and the bad. Good experience overall. Dr. Waltz is great! She is really good with Rory (my yellow lab). They seemed to have some computer problems the first 4 months I came here. I had to keep bringing in my previous records during that time as they were never scanned in. It was becoming an issue as I'd always have to be spot on with why I was there/why he didn't need an extra shot etc, but they finally resolved it and gave him a free bath for all the computer issues during his boarding. Today was my first experience at this vet office and although it was hard everyone there made it a little easier. We will be moving into the area soon and needed to switch vets. so when my dog (Jade) started not feeling well yesterday I decided to take her in today. It was not good news but Dr. Waltz was so nice and really made me feel like the best decision was to not make Jade live in pain anymore. Absolutely the BEST veterinary clinic that ever was. Sadly our older German shepherd was too ill to keep living comfortably and Dr.Placke along with his team of kind, caring, and sensitive assistants made Izzys transition to heaven a peaceful one. Exceptional Services!!!!!!Recently took my boxer mix into Raintree Animal Health Center. They squeezed me into there schedule immediately and were very compassionate towards us and our dog. EVERYONE in this office loves animals, especially MY animals. I expect that any animal clinic that I take my animals to will treat my critters as family, because they are my babies. I appreciate all of the extra attention we get and the follow-up phone calls. I have never had to wait to get my animals in and on one occasion when my cat threw a blood clot, we were able to get him in immediately on a Saturday. The first time I took one of my 8 cats (babies) toDr Placke I was'nt sure if anyone could help myBuddy. He was throwing up everyday for 1 yr.He also had shewed all his hair on his belly off.The vet I took him to had always taken care of mycats, but the Prozac, Pepto Bismo, and so onwas not helping. Dr Placke took one look in hisear and said he had ear mits. The medicine hegave me cured him and now all his hair has grown back and he is so happy. I have farrelcats that I also have taken to him and he is so kind and gentle that they don't mind what he hasto do. I would recommend him to everyone wholoves their animals. Doc and Kimberly are knowledgeable and compassionate, and my husband and I love how they care for mable and kaylee. Mable is 13 years old and was very sick when we where told about the doctor and Kimberly. He and his wife have gone above and beyond any other veterinarians that we have ever used in getting the girls back to a healthier life style.
