I cannot speak highly enough about Dr.Jones and his staff. He is so kind, patient (with my crazy dog mom anxiety) and my dogs (who are scared of everyone) adore him. I have been to many vets over the years, but never have been to a clinic where there are so many amazing people on the staff that genuinely care. They have very reasonable pricing for their services, and they are not trying to nickel and dime you or put you and your pet through unnecessary stress by doing things that line their pockets, but do not add any value to your pet's health. I have worked with Gabby, Dr. Vale, and Dr. Jones the most in my recent visits for my dear cat that has CKD and now hyperthyroidism. Dr. Vale and Jones have both been straight forward without any drama to underscore the position of my cat's health, and that's what I need and greatly appreciate. They are both very kind, passionate, experienced, and knowledgeable. They are the first doctors that even introduced the idea of a pill to help return some blood flow back to my cat's kidneys. I would have never have known that otherwise, even with all the Internet searches I have done to try to prepare myself for what could be in-store for my cat. She is presently fighting a toxic episode, and I strongly feel she is being given the best chance of survival. Aside from that, they are very clean, organized, and quick to take you in. I have been to other places where I have been charged 3x what they charge and it can take up to 30 minutes to be seen. I have been seen immediately (less than 3 minutes) each time I have been there. We are still new to pet ownership and Strothertowne has been more than accommodating to our needs, questions, and schedule when it comes to our Rhodesian Ridgeback puppy. She loves coming to vet, what dog loves the vet?! She gets super excited when we go to the vet and everyone greets her every time. We recently had her spayed and it couldn't have gone any better. We chose the laser surgery route and it was definitely worth the extra money. They are so reasonably priced and I never feel like they order or prescribe anything that is not needed. Dr. Jones is one if my absolute favorite vets of all times. He works with you for the best and most affordable solution for the well being of your pet and you. Today I walked in with a barn kitten I was given, who landed or did something and I was sure her paw was broken. I showed up at 8am when they opened, no appointment because she didn't have her accident until after hours on Saturday. There was a line of people but the receptionist despite being very busy taking calls and dealing with people with appointments was very friendly and didn't treat me like a burden. She got me into a room quickly where Dr. Jones came in promptly and gave my kitten her x-rays (no break yay!) gave me some meds for her and showed me how to give them if she wouldn't eat them in her food also giving me instructions if I don't see progress to call him. I was in and out with in a half an hour. They did not have to be so kind and accommodating as I didn't have an appointment and a broken paw on a kitten could have really tied up what was an already very busy day, but they didn't make me feel like I was a problem or any kind of burden. They made my kitten a priority and lifted a lot of worry off of me very quickly! I love how they treat all the animals as if they where their own. It's just an absolute great group, I'm so glad I ended up finding them!Read Less

Mercy, my pitiful mix, always does so good at her vet appointment because Dr.Jones is THE greatest vet ever. He's so good with her and she loves going there even though she has to get shots, haha. We have only bought dog food here, so I can't comment on the vet or boarding services, but everyone is really friendly and helpful. It's great that they offer all of the Red Paw food varieties. Brookside Barkery got our dog hooked on Red Paw Perform 32, then flat out lied to us about the manufacture discontinuing it. I emailed the manufacturer and they recommended we stop in at Strothertowne. Our dog is really happy we found another Red Paw supplier. Read Less

Dr. Warren Jones is a wonderful and down to earth vet.  He obviously loves animals and it shows in the care he gives my two cats.  We first met Dr. Jones when we adopted a cat from the Lee's Summit Animal Shelter (the city's shelter).  Dr. Jones gave our Mr. Bub his first shots and did the required surgery to fix Mr. Bub before we could adopt him.  We liked Dr. Jones so much on the 1 year follow up visit with Mr. Bub that he has become our family vet.Today we took our 10 year old cat in for a check up and shots.  Dr. Jones didn't get all excited about the possibility that our cat might have a more serious problem, but in simple terms explained to us what all possible options for the symptoms were.  We were given a very simple solution to try and asked to bring the cat back for a weight check in a few weeks.  I really like Dr. Jones' down to earth, practical and less invasive approach.Oh, the waiting area may be small, but it is intimate.  We got to talk to other pets and pets and pet owners.  The dogs and cats all got along (most dogs were on leashes) the kitties in boxes didn't hiss.  It was relaxed and the animals coming from the exam rooms looked relaxed too.Even my little Pooh cat, who would pee in her travel box going to our old vet, was calm.I am so glad I found Dr. Jones and Strothertowne Pet Hospital.  A place that loves it's patients and their two legged owners. We have been with Warren since 04 except the year after he left blue springs , but when we found him didnt wait at all to transfer to him. The animals he has he treats them as his own. Dr Jones is Incredible!We started taking our pets to him way back when he first came to Lee's Summit. We lost track of him when he went to Independence and we missed him greatly.
