We finally found Dr. Lee at the Humane society as a result of a co-worker recommending her to me. We followed Dr. Lee to Family Animal Hospital and could not be happier. Both Dr. Lee and Dr. Chip not only know what they are doing but they know the animals and have put both of my boys at ease. After using three Vets in three years, we are so relieved to have found the perfect vets to take care of our sick boy.

I took my rescue basset here and I couldn’t be more happy with my experience. My basset was abused before I got her and every other vet I have been to belittled me because she acts up when we’re trying to look her over. Dr Chip not only sympathized with me but she’s going above and beyond to find out what could trigger these anxiety attacks. Fair priced and amazing staff! I won’t go to another vet while I live in STL.

Appointment times are taken seriously. The doctors are phenomenal. They have noticed and treated more w my 12 animals than all vets put together my whole 54 years of caring for pets. But most of all is how honest the staff and doctors are. They don't try to add on food or unnecessary items, try the least expensive treatment first and just overall genuine concern.
Have been to over 20 vets in different cities and here. I won't ever go anywhere else again. If I move, I will my most likely drive back to keep Dr C and Dr D involved.

I’ve taken my dogs here for a few years. I just called to get my dog seen for an emergency and was told by Michelle the girl answering the phone they couldn’t see her. She stated they didn’t have any appointment today, Monday or Tuesday. She didn’t even talk to the doctor working.
I would really think twice about using this veterinary clinic. If they can’t even talk to you about what’s wrong first before sending you to an emergency clinic that’s sad. My dogs health isn’t in there best interest.

When I called them back to schedule they claimed they won't take him "just in case his first treatment was bad" and because they buy there drugs from out of the country.. i have no idea what this has to do with dog being able to get treated! At least a courtesy call to follow up would have been nice!

She is the most knowledgeable and compassionate doc in the business. Period. Because she is so passionate about she does, she hires amazing staff who share her love of animals. Love this place.

Dr. Chipperfield (Dr. Chip) is truly the best of the best. It's obvious from the minute she first interacts with your pet that her love of animals runs deep. She has a wealth of experience and knowledge from her years spent with the Humane Society, as well as having her own vet practice. Add to that her kind, caring, compassionate demeanor, and you've got the whole package. She and her wonderful staff at FAH are beyond compare. I wouldn't take my fur baby anywhere else for care. Dr. Chip is good people.

I live in downtown STL but still drive out to 270 and Dorsett as I feel Dr. Chipperfield is one of the best Vets in Saint Louis. Caring, compassionate, honest, and willing to go the extra mile for her patients (and their owners).
She has cared for my 3 dogs and 6 cats over the years through regular checkups to saying good-bye. During every step you can see the love she has for animals and treats them as they were her own.
Dr. Chipperfield has a close working relationship with the Mizzou Teaching Hospital (she is an alumni) so when things get serious, a phone call from her can get you in and directly speaking to some of the best specialists in the nation.
She is also one of the very few that does house calls which can be a huge stress relief on pets that don't like to travel. I can say from personal experience when it came time to say goodbye to my beloved cat Toes and bulldog Myke, she was there and gave them the comfort for leaving us in the comfort of their own home.
I highly recommend Dr. Chipperfield as I am sure my pets do (she spoils them).

This is, by far, the very best vet clinic I've ever been to. Family Animal Hospital is located in a strip center with ample parking, not too far east from the 270/Dorsett exit. The office has two vets, Dr. Chipperfield and Dr. Donnelly. I usually see Dr. Chipperfield, so this review is mostly about her. I don't feel that I can comment much on the other doctor since I've only seen her once for a quick follow-up. I've seen Dr. Chip for several years. Dr. Chip is so incredibly caring with my animals. She is always patient and even gets down to eye level, on the floor, with my little dog to greet and make sure she's comfortable. You can tell that she genuinely cares and isn't there to run people through like cattle. She takes the time needed to answer questions and make a full evaluation. I value Dr. Chip's knowledge and professionalism so much. I really feel that I can trust her judgement and she is very aware of expenses. She's conservative in her approach, when she needs to be. I've referred friends and family to her and everyone is always pleased with her care. Her employees are wonderful, as well. As for pricing...I consider FAM to be affordable. Maybe not the cheapest around, but not even close to the most expensive. You have to be the judge considering your budget, though. Put it this way, I don't dread check out time like I did at past vet offices. I'm definitely ok with the pricing, considering the care that my animals receive. She's awesome! I highly recommend Family Animal Hospital.

I have a geriatric chow that means the world to me and I wouldn't take her anywhere else. When she became a new patient of Dr. Chipperfield's she had some broken teeth that needed to be extracted. Her slow recovery from the anesthesia had me freaked out, not only did Dr. Chipperfield put up with me, she came in on her day off and did some tests to make sure everything was ok. For her to take the time with someone who had just become a client meant the world to me. Dr. Chip never puts her on a table to do exams which is awesome because her hips are shot and it keeps her from getting all tense and injuring them. She genuinely cares for the animals and their owners. The front desk staff are also awesome, always friendly, always caring, you can tell they like their jobs and the animals. I really can't say enough about this place!

Dr Chip brought my dog back from the brink. Unfortunately she was very ill when we got her and it was not really apparent how bad until Dr Chip was able to diagnose her quickly. A few days later, the puppy had a new lease on life and was completely changed. I was really impressed with how the office followed up with us and made sure she was on the mend.

I took my rescue basset here and I couldn’t be more happy with my experience. My basset was abused before I got her and every other vet I have been to belittled me because she acts up when we’re trying to look her over. Appointment times are taken seriously. The doctors are phenomenal. They have noticed and treated more w my 12 animals than all vets put together my whole 54 years of caring for pets. But most of all is how honest the staff and doctors are. They don't try to add on food or unnecessary items, try the least expensive treatment first and just overall genuine concern.
Have been to over 20 vets in different cities and here. I won't ever go anywhere else again. If I move, I will my most likely drive back to keep Dr C and Dr D involved.

I’ve taken my dogs here for a few years. I just called to get my dog seen for an emergency and was told by Michelle the girl answering the phone they couldn’t see her. She stated they didn’t have any appointment today, Monday or Tuesday. She didn’t even talk to the doctor working.
I would really think twice about using this veterinary clinic. If they can’t even talk to you about what’s wrong first before sending you to an emergency clinic that’s sad. My dogs health isn’t in there best interest.

Called these folks to finish my dogs heartworm treatment because my original vet does not take care credit. Left a voicemail with this place and they never bothered to call back. When I called them back to schedule they claimed they won't take him "just in case his first treatment was bad" and because they buy there drugs from out of the country.. i have no idea what this has to do with dog being able to get treated! At least a courtesy call to follow up would have been nice!

She is the most knowledgeable and compassionate doc in the business. Period. Because she is so passionate about she does, she hires amazing staff who share her love of animals. Love this place.

Dr. Chipperfield (Dr. Chip) is truly the best of the best. It's obvious from the minute she first interacts with your pet that her love of animals runs deep. She has a wealth of experience and knowledge from her years spent with the Humane Society, as well as having her own vet practice. Add to that her kind, caring, compassionate demeanor, and you've got the whole package. She and her wonderful staff at FAH are beyond compare. I wouldn't take my fur baby anywhere else for care. Dr. Chip is good people.

I live in downtown STL but still drive out to 270 and Dorsett as I feel Dr. Chipperfield is one of the best Vets in Saint Louis. Caring, compassionate, honest, and willing to go the extra mile for her patients (and their owners).
She has cared for my 3 dogs and 6 cats over the years through regular checkups to saying good-bye. During every step you can see the love she has for animals and treats them as they were her own.
Dr. Chipperfield has a close working relationship with the Mizzou Teaching Hospital (she is an alumni) so when things get serious, a phone call from her can get you in and directly speaking to some of the best specialists in the nation.
She is also one of the very few that does house calls which can be a huge stress relief on pets that don't like to travel. I can say from personal experience when it came time to say goodbye to my beloved cat Toes and bulldog Myke, she was there and gave them the comfort for leaving us in the comfort of their own home.
I highly recommend Dr. Chipperfield as I am sure my pets do (she spoils them).

This is, by far, the very best vet clinic I've ever been to. Family Animal Hospital is located in a strip center with ample parking, not too far east from the 270/Dorsett exit. The office has two vets, Dr. Chipperfield and Dr. Donnelly. I usually see Dr. Chipperfield, so this review is mostly about her. I don't feel that I can comment much on the other doctor since I've only seen her once for a quick follow-up. I've seen Dr. Chip for several years. Dr. Chip is so incredibly caring with my animals. She is always patient and even gets down to eye level, on the floor, with my little dog to greet and make sure she's comfortable. You can tell that she genuinely cares and isn't there to run people through like cattle. She takes the time needed to answer questions and make a full evaluation. I value Dr. Chip's knowledge and professionalism so much. I really feel that I can trust her judgement and she is very aware of expenses. She's conservative in her approach, when she needs to be. I've referred friends and family to her and everyone is always pleased with her care. Her employees are wonderful, as well. As for pricing...I consider FAM to be affordable. Maybe not the cheapest around, but not even close to the most expensive. You have to be the judge considering your budget, though. Put it this way, I don't dread check out time like I did at past vet offices. I'm definitely ok with the pricing, considering the care that my animals receive. She's awesome! I highly recommend Family Animal Hospital.

I have a geriatric chow that means the world to me and I wouldn't take her anywhere else. When she became a new patient of Dr. Chipperfield's she had some broken teeth that needed to be extracted. Her slow recovery from the anesthesia had me freaked out, not only did Dr. Chipperfield put up with me, she came in on her day off and did some tests to make sure everything was ok. For her to take the time with someone who had just become a client meant the world to me. Dr. Chip never puts her on a table to do exams which is awesome because her hips are shot and it keeps her from getting all tense and injuring them. She genuinely cares for the animals and their owners. The front desk staff are also awesome, always friendly, always caring, you can tell they like their jobs and the animals. I really can't say enough about this place!

Dr. Chip is in a different universe from all other vets. We have trusted her with our dogs since she was at the Humane Society, and I wouldn't think of taking them to anyone else. When we had to make the heart-wrenching decision to let one of our fur babies go, Dr. Chip came to our home to let her pass away in her familiar surroundings. She is simply amazing.

Dr Chip brought my dog back from the brink. Unfortunately she was very ill when we got her and it was not really apparent how bad until Dr Chip was able to diagnose her quickly. A few days later, the puppy had a new lease on life and was completely changed. I was really impressed with how the office followed up with us and made sure she was on the mend.
