My dog ate a corn cob out of the trash. I went to a horrible emergency vet as gentle care was closed for the evening. Well. I'm SO glad gentle care is here because had I left my baby in the hands of the E vet, my dog probably wouldn't have survived. I paid hundreds of dollars when I should've just went to gentle care. We have used Gentle Care for over 10 years. I highly recommend Dr. Kelly. She is a fantastic vet who treats our pets like she would her own. We have dealt with a number of illnesses and surgeries that have sent us to Columbia and she has been great through it all. SO UNPLEASANT!! They do not Deserve 1 star. We walked in with an EMERGENCY situation with our Fur baby, and three crying children. They asked us to fill out paperwork, asked to give us more paper work and then let us know that they wanted a $200.00 deposit without even looking at our pet. The girl at the front desk was in no way compassionate to our situation, neither was the vet assistant. All they wanted was payment when they had no idea what our pet needed. We immediately called another vet that was close by and very nice over the phone. I would refer them to anyone. The moment we walked into the Cobblestone Veterinarian clinic they took her in, The held her and coddled her and treated her like she was their own. They treated her and comforted us as well as our children. Once our puppy was treated they let us know that she will be fine. All that we needed to pay for the visit as well as her medications was $95.00 a FAR CRY from the $200.00 that "Gentle Care" wanted before they would look at her! They also where willing to let us make payments if needed. "Gentle Care" does not care at all about your injured hurting furry family member. They think that they can trap you there and force you to pay them or they will not care for your animal. If you do not utilize their care they will call animal control when you leave and tell them that you are abusing your pet. THEY ARE A DISGRACE to animal care. I RECOMMEND THAT YOU NEVER USE THIS FACILITY. Cobblestone is a 1 min drive from them. Much more reasonable and SO MUCH MORE CARING. We think of our pet as family member and want her to be treated like a living loving thing when taken to a Vet. "Gentle Care" explained that the deposit was so that they could sedate her, do x rays, and possible surgery. The second vet said that none of that would be necessary. She had no broken bones and nothing that could be x rayed. No need for surgery and no way that they could just assume any of that without even looking at her. Its saddening to know that they will be in charge of "caring" for other animals :( To think that they wanted to sedate our baby without her needing it is heart breaking. She is an old dog going on 14 years old.. In dog years this makes her 98. She in no way needs to be sedated if not 100% necessary. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR FUR BABY TO THIS FACILITY Read Less

My cat needed help and they said she was going to die and I would have to take her to Columbia for her condition well turns out I got a cheaper price and treatment for her. People don't wanna be told their animal is going to die when they're trying to help there animal. Way to burst someone's bubble. Read Less

DO NOT take your dog here for a grooming or Nails. They did such a horrific job. They don't even deserve one star. They messed my dogs hair and nails up so bad. I'm pretty sure a 5 year old could have done better. Never been so disappointed. Read Less

My husband and I recently moved out of state. One of the hardest parts of moving was leaving Gentle Care and having to find a new vet for our fury child Diesel. Diesel has a ton of minor health problems and ends up at the vets office about every other month. Dr. Kelly knew everything about Diesel and was the best at taking care of him. It is such a wonderful thing to find someone that you can trust to make health decisions for your animal. If you are looking for a vet in the Springfield area, look no further. This is by far the BEST veterinarians office out there!  They are also extremely affordable. We have spent more in the past 6 months at our Omaha vet than we did in two years at Gentle Care.
