Absolutely horrible. If zero was an option for rating, that would be it. I brought my dog on a Friday at 9pm, waiting until 11, was told she needed surgery, so I left her went home got in bed. They called 1 hour later and said condition is worse than they thought, they can't assist, follow up with primary vet. I went to primary vet Saturday morning to find out the ER sent note saying I refused. Primary vet doesn't do Saturday surgeries.Therefore, I went back to er to find out why they put I refused and why they didn't do surgery
The response was it was it must have been miscommunication between them and primary vey, but today is Saturday and vet on staff can't do it. Lets remember my dog is on pain. Their answer was try another hospital. Vet Emily Plante lies and doesn't look out for best interest of you pet, they want your money and nothing else.. At this point, I paid for visit, bloodwork, and meds: so now go do that all again. HORRIBLE SERVICE...... WOULDN'T RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE

First I want to thank the doctors for the care you gave our sweet dog. Everyone was kind and friendly and showed us compassion. We had to make a hard decision and I know that job isn't easy for any vet to have to go through with the pet families. My first impression when I walked into the building was the smell. The front room was full of storage items boxes and dirty pet creates. I realize with covid things are different but this should still be clutter free and clean. We were shown to a room where we could share the last moments with our beloved . This is were I feel things were not good at all. The blanket that was laid on the floor for our dog had other pet hair all over it. Please wash the blankets between guest. We were using lots of tissue of course and went to throw the tissue away in the small trash can provided. The can was stuffed full of someone else's tissue. I rarely write bad reviews but for goodness sake this environment should be clean!

Will never recommend this emergency Vet to anyone ever again. We had two sick animals within two days and only had enough to cover one animal which stayed overnight. Two nights later one of the dogs was having problems breathing and his tongue was turning blue and the vet basically said oh well. No money no service. Found another Vet office in Manchester and Winghaven that doesnt care about money and wanted to help him. The dog passed away on the way to the emergency vet. We have never had problems before until money became an issue.
Terrible! They deserve no stars!!!

Then he comes back to me in his kennel, covered in his feces. Yes, poop. His fur and kennel were covered in it. The technicians didn't "see" it. Really? I saw it immediately and smelt it. Do NOT go here if you value your pet. I'm still furious and frustrated with this situation.

Bonnie & Clyde have always been lovingly taken care of by the staff. Rambunctious Boxers tore their sutures rough housing after being spayed/ neutered ... the staff was there for us. When Clyde jumped off the deck & cut himself on a fence posts .... the staff was there for us. When Clyde’s tumor burst and we had to make the ultimate decision... the staff was there for us. They were caring & understanding as we lay with him before, during and for 15min after. In our emotional state they understood our desire for our 5yo daughter to say good bye and brought him out 30min after we originally left and all the blood was washed away. My only regret is that I never got to know their names over the years .... the staff is always there for us.

Spent 2 1/2 hours here on a Sunday afternoon with our dog. If it's a weekend, I would recommend going elsewhere. There were two vets on staff, numerous assistants, and a couple dogs ahead of us. Everything took so long. Just to get back to the room was an hour. Then another half hour waiting in the room. Another 20 to 25 minutes when they took our dog into a back area. Another 20 minutes for the bill. Ridiculous.

Doctor did not seem knowledgeable and nervous due to my dog being an English Bulldog , had to get second opinion. I didn't realize the second opinion was costing me another $100. Was rude said in some countries its illegal to breed my type of dog (bulldog) because its considered cruel. We were there 5 hours for a pneumonia diagnosis when we started to leave they asked where our dog was. I said my daughter took him to the car. They said oh we didn't give him fluids yet. I couldn't believe 5 hours and they didn't give fluids first thing! My visit cost $600 for xray, second opinion on xray, blood test, and fluids sub q. oxygen and antibiotics. They wanted to keep my dog for 2 days just in case he went into respiratory distress for another $1100. I got the antibiotics and decided to treat at home he was feeling great 3 days later.

The care and compassion here was far above anything we have ever experienced. I unfortunately had to come here with a pet that didn't make it on a busy holiday weekend when they were under staffed for the sheer volume of server cases coming in. The skill at which they set up triage and catered to all of our needs was so impressive. They never turned our back on the pets that waited in line and were able to provide all of us with the love and support we needed. A special shout out goes to Dr. Brian Arnold who has truest found his calling.

Brought our pup in for something that was likely fatal and chances were against us (google CSTSS).However, in a rush to get him there I called and asked they be ready to assist as my dog was dying. Well, there I am with a dying dog in my hands waiting to have the door buzzed to let us in. Then, they immediately begin talking about long term epilepsy.. I had to tell them we weren't worried about long term, they needed to go work on my dog!! He had 108 fever and died minutes after. Disgraceful. Take your sick pet to Lake St Louis or Chesterfield. Don't try and speak with the manager Amy Miller, she doesn't come to this office and won't return calls. Somebody shut this place down!

My puppy ate an entire tub of sugar free gum. Which can be deadly. I brought him in and I was seen right away. They made him vomit, tested his blood sugar which came back normal. I was given the choice to keep him there or take him home. I decided to take him home. They said to call again if anything changes or to bring him back up. Dr. Lord was great and even gave me the name of the medicine to purchase at Walmart which was cheaper than at their office. Great service fair price!!

My cat was having difficulty urinating. I am from out of state. I called a local vet who didn't seem too concerned. She said they could get my cat in on Thursday (3 days away). I said he needs to be seen sooner than that. She referred me The Animal Emergency Clinic. It was an awesome experience. My Oliver got in right away. I was kept up to date with Oliver's condition as well as instructions on the disease process, treatment, etc. The staff was wonderful. They were efficient, kind, and answered my questions. I can't thank them enough. I highly recommend this business.

Took one of my dogs there last night with bladder stones that were obstructing his ability to go to the bathroom. Dr Lord was the attending vet and she was wonderful. It was a hectic night. We arrived around 10PM and she was finally able to operate on him at about 6am. Dr Lord called me about 9am to let me know he was doing well and to feel free to call anytime to check on him. We discussed because of his age that he should spend the night for observation. I called at about 3pm and spoke with Dr Milker who again told me he was doing well. My final check in was around 6pm to make sure he was settled for the night and let them know I would see them first thing in the morning to pick him up. At 8:30pm, I received a call from Dr Arnold and he started out by saying we have not heard from you all day. I informed him that I had called and checked in on my baby three times today. He continued with saying that surprises him because he knew nothing of me calling and checking up. He continued to say that people who care about their pets usually call and check on them continuing the accusation. I was appalled by this. He told me my dog was ready to come home. I started to tell him that the other doctors thought it best if he spent the night based in his age but thought I better just get my dog out of there. I know this is a stressful place to work. I sympathize with these doctors but at the same time I didn't deserve to be accused of not caring for my pet. Especially from a vet that was not involved in the entire situation. It appears they do not document well or he would have known I had called in three times that day. There are obviously people who don't belong in certain professions and vets like Dr's, when you lose your bed side manners you have this lost your compassion. Find a way to recharge or think about changing professions.

This "vet" operates like a shady mechanic. Only, instead of them relying on your lack of automotive knowledge, they prey on you doing whatever it takes to make sure your pet is healthy and alive. I called Saturday evening because my Aussie had gotten into some chocolate. The woman who answered asked for her weight, how much chocolate she ate, and what kind. When I told her she put me on hold for about 4 or 5 minutes. When she came back she told me to bring my dog in immediately so they could induce vomiting, put her on an IV, then monitor her. They quoted me $90, literally just for me to walk my Aussie in the door. The vomiting, IV, and monitoring would all be extra that they would suspiciously quote me on later, after she was already in their care (how in the world would you not know how much it's going to cost for something you've done probably thousands of times?).
So I got off the phone prepared to take my pup up there. But my husband did his own research and found that for a 40lb dog, who ate less than an ounce of milk chocolate has what risk of poisoning? Zero. That's right. No risk. It still terrified me because of how serious they made it sound. So we cancelled our anniversary dinner plans and stayed at home to monitor her ourselves. She was perfectly fine. Absolutely no different other than a little constipation. The next day I talked to my sister and she said her vet told her milk chocolate isn't a problem unless it's a large amount.
I know this is the only option in the area after hours. But if you go here during normal business hours, please find another vet. I go to Gentle Doctor on K and they are amazing. Do not let these hacks prey on your love for your pet so they can gouge you for every penny you've got.

Worst vet experience ever! If Dr Jeffery Vemmer was not there i would have given this a way better review but that was not the case tonight. I strongly suggest to ask for someone other than Dr Vemmer for you and your pet if you go here. (My dog was bloated and lethargic so i gave this vet a call because it was after hours for non emergency vets. I was told to bring my dog in because it could have been a life or death situation. My dog was getting a little less lethargic throughout the day but still bloated so i wanted to make sure he was OK)The girls at the front desk were very friendly but Dr Vemmer not so much. I paid $90 for an exam and before the veterinarian even checked my dog out the assistant said i needed to get him an xray for another $90. So i asked for the veterinarian to come in the room to check if he actually needed the xray because i thought that was what the exam was for. So the assistant sent in Dr Vemmer. When Vemmer came in the room (before he even said hi or greeted me) he handed me a mussel for my dog and said im not touching him till you put this on him with a very snobby, i hate my job attitude. My dog is a lab mix and i mentioned to him that my dog is not aggressive one bit. So i got the pointless mussel on that was also making it hard for my dog to breath and stressing him out just so Vemmer could check him out. After that my dog was a little scared and wouldnt stay still by Vemmer. Vemmer then shoved my dog against the wall to make him stay still and was cursing and dropping f bombs to my dog with me right there watching. Extremely rude and unprofessional. Been to many vets with many dogs and never experienced a veterinarian like Dr Vemmer. I will also never return here because of my experience with Mr Vemmer. GO TO Midwest Veterinary Referral Center in Chesterfield. Much friendlier veterinarian and care more about your pet than your money!

Be careful going here. Somewhat of a scam for money. They will tell you they have to run several tests and keep your pet overnight with several IV fluids, several meds and several X-rays. They send out the X-rays since they are not radiologists there which takes hours and your bill runs up. I spent almost $1000 for an upset stomach. I heard them yell at my puppy to stop moving and I could hear him screaming just getting a blood test. They don't treat the animals well and are rude. Be careful

We took a kitty with a bleeding foot in here. It was around 10PM. The staff is nice, but very slow. Our situation wasn't a dire emergency, but I feel like we waited a lot longer than we should have. They wrapped up our kitty's foot, and that alone cost 90 dollars. As soon as we got home, the wrapping came off. not because the kitty starting playing, but because his foot was just poorly wrapped. We called them to let them know - they told us to either keep a close eye on him (which we were doing beforehand), or they could rewrap it (a 20 minute drive back).

She has a huge gash on her side and she is bleeding...and it's 8pm at night when all the clinics and vets are closed!!!"That is exactly what I said when it happened this week. I looked online for help and found nothing but closed animal clinics, or clinics not willing to help since they were closing in an hour. I was terrified...until...I discovered "Animal Emergency Clinic" AEC O'Fallon. I sped that direction and was met with a very friendly and compassionate staff, caring and wonderful service and a bunch of animal lovers like me.Fox had a 1.5" gash one her right flank, it was pretty bad and I was not happy. They were able to take care of her on the spot, stitch her side, provide antibiotics and a prescription pain killer for a reasonable fee. Now, it's an emergency room, so the cost is going to be higher, but it's worth it when your puppy/kitty/tyrannosaurus is hurt badly.They gave me and upper/lower estimate and they were able to stay close to the lower estimate and save me some cash.Thanks for what you do, you saved me and Fox's day!!!

The response was it was it must have been miscommunication between them and primary vey, but today is Saturday and vet on staff can't do it. Lets remember my dog is on pain. Their answer was try another hospital. Vet Emily Plante lies and doesn't look out for best interest of you pet, they want your money and nothing else.. At this point, I paid for visit, bloodwork, and meds: so now go do that all again. HORRIBLE SERVICE...... WOULDN'T RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE

First I want to thank the doctors for the care you gave our sweet dog. Everyone was kind and friendly and showed us compassion. We had to make a hard decision and I know that job isn't easy for any vet to have to go through with the pet families. My first impression when I walked into the building was the smell. The front room was full of storage items boxes and dirty pet creates. I realize with covid things are different but this should still be clutter free and clean. We were shown to a room where we could share the last moments with our beloved . This is were I feel things were not good at all. The blanket that was laid on the floor for our dog had other pet hair all over it. Please wash the blankets between guest. We were using lots of tissue of course and went to throw the tissue away in the small trash can provided. The can was stuffed full of someone else's tissue. I rarely write bad reviews but for goodness sake this environment should be clean!

Will never recommend this emergency Vet to anyone ever again. We had two sick animals within two days and only had enough to cover one animal which stayed overnight. Two nights later one of the dogs was having problems breathing and his tongue was turning blue and the vet basically said oh well. No money no service. Found another Vet office in Manchester and Winghaven that doesnt care about money and wanted to help him. The dog passed away on the way to the emergency vet. We have never had problems before until money became an issue.
Terrible! They deserve no stars!!!

Then he comes back to me in his kennel, covered in his feces. Yes, poop. His fur and kennel were covered in it. The technicians didn't "see" it. Really? I saw it immediately and smelt it. Do NOT go here if you value your pet. I'm still furious and frustrated with this situation.

Bonnie & Clyde have always been lovingly taken care of by the staff. Rambunctious Boxers tore their sutures rough housing after being spayed/ neutered ... the staff was there for us. When Clyde jumped off the deck & cut himself on a fence posts .... the staff was there for us. When Clyde’s tumor burst and we had to make the ultimate decision... the staff was there for us. They were caring & understanding as we lay with him before, during and for 15min after. In our emotional state they understood our desire for our 5yo daughter to say good bye and brought him out 30min after we originally left and all the blood was washed away. My only regret is that I never got to know their names over the years .... the staff is always there for us.

Spent 2 1/2 hours here on a Sunday afternoon with our dog. If it's a weekend, I would recommend going elsewhere. There were two vets on staff, numerous assistants, and a couple dogs ahead of us. Everything took so long. Just to get back to the room was an hour. Then another half hour waiting in the room. Another 20 to 25 minutes when they took our dog into a back area. Another 20 minutes for the bill. Ridiculous.

Doctor did not seem knowledgeable and nervous due to my dog being an English Bulldog , had to get second opinion. I didn't realize the second opinion was costing me another $100. Was rude said in some countries its illegal to breed my type of dog (bulldog) because its considered cruel. We were there 5 hours for a pneumonia diagnosis when we started to leave they asked where our dog was. I said my daughter took him to the car. They said oh we didn't give him fluids yet. I couldn't believe 5 hours and they didn't give fluids first thing! My visit cost $600 for xray, second opinion on xray, blood test, and fluids sub q. oxygen and antibiotics. They wanted to keep my dog for 2 days just in case he went into respiratory distress for another $1100. I got the antibiotics and decided to treat at home he was feeling great 3 days later.

The care and compassion here was far above anything we have ever experienced. I unfortunately had to come here with a pet that didn't make it on a busy holiday weekend when they were under staffed for the sheer volume of server cases coming in. The skill at which they set up triage and catered to all of our needs was so impressive. They never turned our back on the pets that waited in line and were able to provide all of us with the love and support we needed. A special shout out goes to Dr. Brian Arnold who has truest found his calling.

Well, there I am with a dying dog in my hands waiting to have the door buzzed to let us in. Then, they immediately begin talking about long term epilepsy.. I had to tell them we weren't worried about long term, they needed to go work on my dog!! He had 108 fever and died minutes after. Disgraceful. Take your sick pet to Lake St Louis or Chesterfield. Don't try and speak with the manager Amy Miller, she doesn't come to this office and won't return calls. Somebody shut this place down!

I was given the choice to keep him there or take him home. I decided to take him home. They said to call again if anything changes or to bring him back up. Dr. Lord was great and even gave me the name of the medicine to purchase at Walmart which was cheaper than at their office. Great service fair price!!

My cat was having difficulty urinating. I am from out of state. I called a local vet who didn't seem too concerned. She said they could get my cat in on Thursday (3 days away). I said he needs to be seen sooner than that. She referred me The Animal Emergency Clinic. It was an awesome experience. My Oliver got in right away. I was kept up to date with Oliver's condition as well as instructions on the disease process, treatment, etc. The staff was wonderful. They were efficient, kind, and answered my questions. I can't thank them enough. I highly recommend this business.

Took one of my dogs there last night with bladder stones that were obstructing his ability to go to the bathroom. Dr Lord was the attending vet and she was wonderful. It was a hectic night. We arrived around 10PM and she was finally able to operate on him at about 6am. Dr Lord called me about 9am to let me know he was doing well and to feel free to call anytime to check on him. We discussed because of his age that he should spend the night for observation. I called at about 3pm and spoke with Dr Milker who again told me he was doing well. My final check in was around 6pm to make sure he was settled for the night and let them know I would see them first thing in the morning to pick him up. At 8:30pm, I received a call from Dr Arnold and he started out by saying we have not heard from you all day. I informed him that I had called and checked in on my baby three times today. He continued with saying that surprises him because he knew nothing of me calling and checking up. He continued to say that people who care about their pets usually call and check on them continuing the accusation. I was appalled by this. He told me my dog was ready to come home. I started to tell him that the other doctors thought it best if he spent the night based in his age but thought I better just get my dog out of there. I know this is a stressful place to work. I sympathize with these doctors but at the same time I didn't deserve to be accused of not caring for my pet. Especially from a vet that was not involved in the entire situation. It appears they do not document well or he would have known I had called in three times that day. There are obviously people who don't belong in certain professions and vets like Dr's, when you lose your bed side manners you have this lost your compassion. Find a way to recharge or think about changing professions.

This "vet" operates like a shady mechanic. Only, instead of them relying on your lack of automotive knowledge, they prey on you doing whatever it takes to make sure your pet is healthy and alive. I called Saturday evening because my Aussie had gotten into some chocolate. The woman who answered asked for her weight, how much chocolate she ate, and what kind. When I told her she put me on hold for about 4 or 5 minutes. When she came back she told me to bring my dog in immediately so they could induce vomiting, put her on an IV, then monitor her. They quoted me $90, literally just for me to walk my Aussie in the door. The vomiting, IV, and monitoring would all be extra that they would suspiciously quote me on later, after she was already in their care (how in the world would you not know how much it's going to cost for something you've done probably thousands of times?).
So I got off the phone prepared to take my pup up there. But my husband did his own research and found that for a 40lb dog, who ate less than an ounce of milk chocolate has what risk of poisoning? Zero. That's right. No risk. It still terrified me because of how serious they made it sound. So we cancelled our anniversary dinner plans and stayed at home to monitor her ourselves. She was perfectly fine. Absolutely no different other than a little constipation. The next day I talked to my sister and she said her vet told her milk chocolate isn't a problem unless it's a large amount.
I know this is the only option in the area after hours. But if you go here during normal business hours, please find another vet. I go to Gentle Doctor on K and they are amazing. Do not let these hacks prey on your love for your pet so they can gouge you for every penny you've got.

I strongly suggest to ask for someone other than Dr Vemmer for you and your pet if you go here. (My dog was bloated and lethargic so i gave this vet a call because it was after hours for non emergency vets. I was told to bring my dog in because it could have been a life or death situation. My dog was getting a little less lethargic throughout the day but still bloated so i wanted to make sure he was OK)The girls at the front desk were very friendly but Dr Vemmer not so much. I paid $90 for an exam and before the veterinarian even checked my dog out the assistant said i needed to get him an xray for another $90. So i asked for the veterinarian to come in the room to check if he actually needed the xray because i thought that was what the exam was for. So the assistant sent in Dr Vemmer. When Vemmer came in the room (before he even said hi or greeted me) he handed me a mussel for my dog and said im not touching him till you put this on him with a very snobby, i hate my job attitude. My dog is a lab mix and i mentioned to him that my dog is not aggressive one bit. So i got the pointless mussel on that was also making it hard for my dog to breath and stressing him out just so Vemmer could check him out. After that my dog was a little scared and wouldnt stay still by Vemmer. Vemmer then shoved my dog against the wall to make him stay still and was cursing and dropping f bombs to my dog with me right there watching. Extremely rude and unprofessional. Been to many vets with many dogs and never experienced a veterinarian like Dr Vemmer. I will also never return here because of my experience with Mr Vemmer. GO TO Midwest Veterinary Referral Center in Chesterfield. Much friendlier veterinarian and care more about your pet than your money!

Be careful going here. Somewhat of a scam for money. They will tell you they have to run several tests and keep your pet overnight with several IV fluids, several meds and several X-rays. They send out the X-rays since they are not radiologists there which takes hours and your bill runs up. I spent almost $1000 for an upset stomach. I heard them yell at my puppy to stop moving and I could hear him screaming just getting a blood test. They don't treat the animals well and are rude. Be careful

We took a kitty with a bleeding foot in here. It was around 10PM. The staff is nice, but very slow. Our situation wasn't a dire emergency, but I feel like we waited a lot longer than we should have. They wrapped up our kitty's foot, and that alone cost 90 dollars. As soon as we got home, the wrapping came off. not because the kitty starting playing, but because his foot was just poorly wrapped. We called them to let them know - they told us to either keep a close eye on him (which we were doing beforehand), or they could rewrap it (a 20 minute drive back).

I looked online for help and found nothing but closed animal clinics, or clinics not willing to help since they were closing in an hour. I was terrified...until...I discovered "Animal Emergency Clinic" AEC O'Fallon. I sped that direction and was met with a very friendly and compassionate staff, caring and wonderful service and a bunch of animal lovers like me.Fox had a 1.5" gash one her right flank, it was pretty bad and I was not happy. They were able to take care of her on the spot, stitch her side, provide antibiotics and a prescription pain killer for a reasonable fee. Now, it's an emergency room, so the cost is going to be higher, but it's worth it when your puppy/kitty/tyrannosaurus is hurt badly.They gave me and upper/lower estimate and they were able to stay close to the lower estimate and save me some cash.Thanks for what you do, you saved me and Fox's day!!!
