The staff at Pet Doctor words can not express how outstanding they ALL are. I have never experienced such a wonderful group of compassionate knowledgeable people. I live in the city and will continue to drive the 40 minutes to take my dogs there as they are the best vet techs and Veterinarians I have experienced. I have one Saint Bernard that needed double knee surgery. The care and attention he got was more than I could of done myself. They were genuinely happy to see him and treating him so well was from the heart. I was so impressed and I felt he was in the very best hands. I never once doubted anything they ever did nor said. I have 100% faith and trust in their skills and ability to care for animals. I also had a Saint Bernard that had become increasing aggressive and needed to be put to sleep. The hardest thing I have ever don was to put my 2 year old pet to sleep. They were so kind, compassionate and heartfelt in everything they did and said. They made a very difficult decision and experience peaceful and bearable. I felt like I was in the best hands possible as well. I will never forget their kindness they showed to me that day. I am so grateful for them all. Words can not express how much they all mean to me and my fur kids. Someone mentioned they are "pricey". The love, attention and knowledge they have is worth the cost and more. The cost was never an issue for me. Read Less

Our 11-year old Golden Retriever went into the Pet Doctor for laser therapy, which was recommended to me for his arthritis. The doctor noticed him limping and said that she didn’t like the way he was walking. She took an xray and found bone cancer. They talked with us about our options and they were very compassionate and caring. He goes there every month for a treatment to help strengthen his bones, as we opted not to amputate or do chemo. He is still a very playful 11-year old and I couldn’t imagine him with an amputated leg. They show him so much love and he absolutely loves going there. Read Less

Our dog had major skin irritation and had it going on for about two months with three vet visits, nothing was working. We went to the Pet Doctor after reading the website and reviews. They diagnosed him with low thyroid and maybe allergy and put him on the three medications. Three weeks later, with no help to the dog, sent off blood for allergy testing. My dog was suffering big time, so we went to another vet and within minutes diagnosed him with mites and showed us the mites under a microscope. After digging into the prescriptions recommended by the Pet Doctor, found out they were the same as we had been giving our dog for the two prior months (shame on me for not reviewing closer what the prior vet had used) and The Pet Doctor had the prior vets paper work and history. Paid the Pet Doctor over $600 for incorrect diagnosis and caused my dog to suffer for the extra weeks. Had my dog there all day, but never checked for mites and apparently never read the reports from our prior vet. The people were always nice, but maybe the vet is too busy to do thorough work at times?? We won't go back. Read Less

I just read online that you have decided to refuse declawing cats. THANK YOU! More people need to be educated on this topic! I recently had a co-worker refuse to come to my home because she learned neither of my cat's is declawed. Her reasoning was, "They might scratch me"! My response was, "You might step on their tail. Should we have your feet amputated"? Keep up the good work! If I lived in your area (I am in Indiana and drive across state lines to a wonderful vet) I would seek your services. Your refusal to declaw is a huge indication of your care! Thanks again, Fyllis Williams Read Less

Dr. Marcy and Dr. Kelly are compassionate and skilled and thorough individuals who obviously chose the right profession.  This is shown in the way they interact with and listen to patients, ask relevant questions, formulate diagnoses, administer treatments and treat/hire their staff.  Everyone is so welcoming, that walking in is like coming into a gathering at a friend's house.  If the front office is empty, someone immediately pops in.  If the ladies happen to be behind the desk talking, they immediately stop, look up at us with large smiles and welcome us.  This happens 100% of the time! Not only does the entire staff treat us like family, but they're on time for appointments, they remember my pet's name, they somehow always know why we're there (i.e. meds, vaccinations, check up, etc.), they briefly review our pet's history, and they always come out from BEHIND THE DESK to welcome us to our appointment, and they do the same thing while wishing us well when we're leaving.  And it's not just us they do this to.....I've seen it do this to the other in the office, many times. They behave as if they're genuinely sad to see my pet leave!  Wow!I've seen them minister a rescue animal brought in for examination; they have a business to run and a mortgage to pay, yet they extend themselves to the weak and sick who can't care for themselves.  That is true compassion and dedication.  I believe they're the only accredited hospital in St. Charles County....this gives me peace of mind in their training and schooling.  I know others who have been given gifts of their kindness and advice with hospice care, and with home care assistance for geriatric animals.  And when the times comes to let go of a family member, their comfort, understanding and patience is stabilizing.  It's one thing to take your pet to a place where you trust the knowledge of the veterinarian, but it's a whole other ballpark to take him or her to a place where you trust the knowledge of the veterinarian A-N-D you have the amazing feeling of warmth and caring.....this staff actually loves to go to work!We are currently raising a Service Dog who goes to the Pet Doctor.  Last year, while we were waiting to receive our puppy, we approached a few veterinarians to inquire about the costs we would incur for his care so we could budget: vaccinations, office visits, spay/neuter, and meds.  Any puppy is pricey to raise and care for, ut these are companions most will have for 10-15 years; we won't have that luxury with this guy.  We will have him for only 18 months. Then we give him up to Advanced Training and then placement with his disabled individual.  DR. MARCY AND DR. KELLY OFFERED US COMPLIMENTARY VET CARE DURING OUR ENTIRE TIME WITH POET.  This was very unexpected!  No other veterinarian in O'Fallon or Wentzville or Lake St. Louis were interested at all in what we were doing. We didn't expect vets to bend over backwards and a big parade, simply more information about total costs.  And we certainly didn't expect such a generous offer.  It's been a year, and we have another few months with Poet, and are most grateful for the care our vets have given him. They have truly shared in providing independence to a Wounded Warrior, an autistic child, an individual in a wheelchair....someone we'll never meet but someone who decidedly needs and deserves it.  These are the kind of vets you can imagine who go home and bring your pet "home" with them----they think about strange symptoms, they try to piece together a logical diagnosis, they probably call colleagues for second opinions.  They live and breathe animals.  Other hospitals and vets in the area are big into promoting themselves.  And that's okay, too.  But for my money, those who are good at marketing themselves, aren't paying attention to business at home.  Those truly good at their craft are usually quite humble and into their work rather than touting their own horn.  So that's where a satisfied client comes in.  I can speak for Dr. Marcy and Dr. Kelly. The best way to define the doctors and the staff at the Pet Doctor is to say they practice with their expertise, but they LEAD WITH THEIR HEARTS.Poet and I thank you, Dr. Marcy and Dr. Kelly and staff.  WOOF. The Pet Doctor's staff is knowledgeable and Dr. Marcy is one of the most qualified and credentialed veterinarians in the state of Missouri. They care more about giving the highest standard of care than they do about seeing as many patients as possible in a work day. So many vets only allow 15 minutes per client and never really get to know their clients or their pets. The Pet Doctor is different! They never man-handle pets or traumatize them just to "get it done". They take their time and use gentle, low-stress handling to make sure that your pet has the best possible experience. We have been taking our 3 dogs to The Pet Doctor for many years. We have always been treated with the utmost respect from both Dr. Hogan (no longer there) and Dr. Hammerle. We recently had to send our Havanese baby over the rainbow bridge and Dr. Hammerle and staff couldn't have been more compassionate and loving. I so much appreciated their kindness at such a sad time for us. In my opinion, Dr. Hammerle and her staff are the best.

They are amazing. You can tell they really care for each person's pet. My husband and I drive 40 minutes to them because they are so great and our fur baby is worth it for the excellent care pets receive. They get on the ground with your pet to help comfort them and the staff has always answered our questions. Dr. Hammerle is very through and is patient with us when/if we have questions.Read Less

There just aren't words for how much I appreciate Dr. Hammerle and the entire staff here. You all make it possible to fight the ongoing battle of being a mommy to special health needs kitties. My deepest, heartfelt gratitude for your support with Taffy this last week. I'm not sure if Dr. Sycamore from VSS has called yet, but the biopsy results held good news. She's going to be just fine. WOOF. Dr Marcy has been caring for my critters since she opened her doors for business. I have never received anything but honest options to provide the best health care that I can personally afford for my pets. I am forever grateful to be "heard" by Dr Marcy when ever I'm worried about one of my fur-kids, it doesn't matter how silly my worries may sound either, she's still listening:).Having been a client this long, I can say that I am continuously impressed by Dr Marcy's never ending desire to stay with the current times and push ever forward by continuing education that enables our pets to receive the latest treatments available to them. I recommend them to everyone! Read Less

I am cross-posting this review with FBI must say I am completely discouraged when I placed a call yesterday to your facility to try to get a copy of my pups Rabies shot records, only to find out, you have absolutely no record of ever giving my pup his shot. Yet I have his tags and Petco holds the records for the shot... I unfortunately will not recommend anyone to your facility.I will say this much, the staff was great with my Pup and extremely friendly, but bad record keeping is not the way to go. Read Less
