My wife Stacey summed it up perfectly: "I am seriously just in awe of my experience with Frankie Bowers at Animal Clinic of the Ozarks over this past week. Riley (our boy pup) became seriously ill during our 8hr drive to Missouri for the Thanksgiving holiday. We got to my parents in Ozark late Tuesday night. As the night progressed, I became more concerned and eventually fearful that he wasn't going to make it through the night. We showed up at the clinic just prior to them ...opening on Weds morning in hopes that they could see him right away. Frankie took him right in and advised that she would call us once she was able to see his bloodwork results. The results were horrible and discouraging and she was very open with us about the possibility of losing him. Though the news wasn't good, she still made us feel like he was in the best hands possible. The clinic was closed after Wednesday for the holiday but she continued to treat and care for Riley EVERY day, provided us with updates and let us come to see him. He didn't start looking "alive" again until Saturday and I swear, Frankie was just as ecstatic as we were to see him turn that corner. I have been with Dr. Frankie for 24 years. She has been through 4 dogs with me and 2 dogs with my parents. She is straight to the point. She will not just do procedures or surgery on your pet just for the money. She honestly cares about your pet and strives for the welfare of the pet first. She is not overpriced like some I had been to when I moved away for a year. I was so glad to get back to Frankie for my pets. I don't know what I will do when she retires.. Now, just a heads-up - she does keep extremely busy so be prepared. No question is stupid here. She will explain in terms you can understand and you won't feel rushed. Highly recommend. Read Less

The doctor was wonderful with my two dogs I brought in, was very friendly. However, the only thing I'd change, as of right now, is that the receptionist didn't acknowledge me until she had time to check me in. In my opinion, it makes me awkward and uncomfortable when receptionists, "greeters" in a business don't greet me. Thought they were nice people until today. Tell me my cat is dying and she needs to be put down cause she's very sick and contagious. But the cat that has lived with her for 4 years tested negative. The amount of trouble we have gone through today to just get the cat back was ridiculous. I love vets because they help the animals. But you guys are twisted. Dr. Frankie and Animal Clinic of the Ozarks are amazing at what they do! They are always friendly, helpful, and willing to go the extra mile. They do get busy, with Dr. Frankie being the only vet in the office, but their care and concern for may animals well being has always been evident. They have been my family vet for over 20 years and I can't foresee that ever changing, as long as I live in the area. HIGHLY recommended! Read Less

We are incredibly disappointed. We took our dog in last week to have his leg checked out. On the first visit they took an x-ray and told us that he had a tumor. On the second visit they told us that they weren't going to do a second x-ray because they were certain it was cancer. The Dr. said she could feel that it was definitively a tumor, prescribed pain medication and sent us and our injured dog home. We took him a to vet 50 miles north in Bolivar, MO for a second opinion and lo and behold it was not cancer, not even remotely close. Our poor dog has been limping from a torn ACL, something that the second, and obviously more competent vet, could see from one x-ray. We called to politely ask for a refund because the service was of no use and the receptionist was delightfully helpful, the Vet said she would give us two free visits and look into why there was such a blunt mistake. She called us back no later than 5 minutes and was very short with us. She said she would give us $30 and claimed she never said she would give us free service and her reasoning was that in order for her to determine the diagnosis she would have needed the second x-ray, the one she declined to do in the first place. My dad works in the service industry and if he had made such a big mistake he would own up to it and correct it to the best of his ability and he would certainly not be hurtful toward the customer. If what you're in need of is to speak with a wonderful receptionist look no further, however if you need a reliable vet you're better off going elsewhere. Read Less

Frankie Bowers has been my fur kids vet for over 26 years (wow does that make us sound old!). I trust her totally. I am in the medical profession and she is always spot on and up to date with the latest treatments. She is an excellent surgeon as well. I will NEVER take my kiddos anywhere else.
