I have been a fan of Eagle Animal Hospital since it was owned by Dr Noise and first met Dr Sparks when he was a kennel attendant when my brother was bringing his dogs here! I have used them since moving here in 1980 and am very impressed by every aspect of this entire clinic..they have helped me with so many issues with my 5 fur babies over the years and given emotional support when desperately needed. I'm really picky were I take my dog and I've been to a lot of different vets!! Eagle hands down is the best I've been too!!! They don't treat you like a cash register like a lot of other vets do. They are clean and friendly. I needed in one day without an appointment and they got me right in. I use Dr Silvius and he's great!! Highly recommend them!!! Read Less

This place has really turned out really well. We started taking our pets here way before they renovated it and turned it into this really nice pet resort. Horrible experience with our dog!! Staff was very unfriendly and unwelcoming! They did not properly care for our dog. He was very unhappy and we could tell he had been very isolated. He did not get any attention or love and in return destroyed his entire bed that he loved very much. The staff had it in a trash bag in pieces and tried to send it home with us. Also gave him a shot and charged me for it with no explanation. Very unpleasant experience and would not recommend them to anyone. We will be finding a new vet and boarding spot immediately. We were referred here by a neighbor for our elderly poodle and cat. They were so compassionate and good with our pets, and never did we feel like they were in a hurry. From the time you walk in the door, you and your pet are treated with dignity and respect. The pricing is reasonable and they don't try to gouge you with unnecessary tests and treatment. I have been going here since about 2003? 4? When I got my first cat. Back then it was the old style but the care was beyond amazing. They were there for him all the way up to his trip to the rainbow bridge. Then with my second cat they renovated the place, but they saved his life when his bladder was blocked. They were there for him with his ailments and asthma. He wasn't the nicest cat to them at all, but they still lovingly dealt with his cranky young ass. He didn't live to be even 5 years old, but they were there for him all the way till his trip to the rainbow bridge. I now have a beautiful ocicat rescue cat with pterodactyl thumbs. He's super patient and kind to them, so much more healthy too. When I do take him in they are happy to see him, one girl always makes my day bright as she squees over him and wants to see him or pet him or hold him. She is gaga over his thumbs. He kindly lets her do whatever she wants with him, along with the doctors, and is a happy boy. Unless I move, I would never go anywhere else than these guys. They are so up to date with everything and so compassionate, I couldn't imagine my pet's life and health under anyone else's care but them.Read Less

Have taken our baby Zeus here for many years and have always been very pleased. We have used the boarding and vet services. I am always seen quickly, even when I have had to walk-in without an appointment. The doctors are caring and take the time to talk to you about what is going on. And biggest of all, my dog has no reservations or fear when he is here. This is the largest reason I would recommend them. If my pet trusts them, I trust them! :) Read Less

Let me preface this review by saying I have not had any actual vet work done here but I did stop by for a tour to try see the facilities for our upcoming puppy.I called on a Friday morning looking to set up a tour for a Saturday and was warned that they were very busy, not surprising at all, but that they would have some pamphlets and documents waiting when we arrived.  When we first arrived we were blown away with how nice the facilities were and just the overall feel.  The front desk staff was very nice and when we offered to come back later due to them being busy she insisted that we stay and someone would be with us shortly.When the young lady called us in for the tour she introduced herself but never asked for our names or anything about us; should of been a sign of things to come. As the tour started she was obviously in a hurry and speed-walking through all of the boarding facilities, she actually walked away from us a few times where we had to darn near run to catch back up. It wasn't all bad though. she did stop to chat in both the cat room and the upstairs dog boarding rooms but those moments were few and far between.  Towards the end of the tour of the boarding facilities we were asked if we had any questions and we responded that we weren't really all that interested in the boarding and were more interested in seeing the veterinarian side of it.  That's where the tour ended... she said thanks for stopping and showed us back to the lobby.  No recognition of our comment about seeing the vet side.Upon re-entering the lobby the front desk asked if we had any more questions but couldn't provide many answers on pricing for puppy shots, meds etc.  Just told us to come in when we get her and they will let us know what we need to know then.  She did talk to us about Spay/Neuter prices and gave us a rough estimate on flea/tick and heartworm.We will give the vet a chance when we get our puppy and hope to have a much better experience on that side of the practice.  Unfortunately the first impression left a lot to be desired and for many people it probably would've been enough to not come back.  To be fair though I was told when I initially called for a tour that Saturday's were very busy. Jim Sparks is our regular Dr but we have seen all the vets in this practice and there all top notch. We have used Dr. Sparks and Eagle Animal Hospital for 17 years and wouldn't think of going anywhere else. They take outstanding care of our fur children from the minute you walk in the door. We just visited with our 8 week-old Aussie Doodle, Tucker. The only think more amazing than the beautiful and clearly well-thought-out facility was the staff. AMAZING DAYCARE. I have tried several daycare in this area and none of them compare to this one. The place is immaculate, the staff is friendly and caring, and MOST importantly my 2 very high energy pups come home EXHAUSTED. Even though we received some disheartening news, he assured us we could get through it. My family now places my Shepherds well being in his and his staffs hands, and I would recommend them to anyone who has a pet ( or as we call them our 4 legged children) to bring them here for everything you would expect from your own physician. I live in Olathe but have felt for many years that Eagle Animal Hospital is top notch and was worth the drive. Today reinforced my feelings. Just driving by this vet you will want to take your pets here. Then once you get inside it is even more beautiful and nice. They are by far the most professional, most welcoming and most talented animal care facility I have ever experienced. We recently had the pleasure of boarding our Bull Mastiff at Eagle's Pet Resort. He had a luxury suite that was very clean and spacious. My grown daughter's dog got extremely sick over the weekend. We made 3 trips to the emergency vet for test...then on Monday morning went to see Dr. Sparks at EAH. Jack had to be put to sleep because he was just too sick and suffering. Dr. Sparks treated him with so much gentleness and respect. Jack slipped away as if going to sleep without a whimper. We all got to be with him and kiss him goodbye. Even after Jack was gone, Dr. Sparks continued to be so gentle and respectful of him. Then we wrapped him in a blanket and drove him to Rolling Acres for a private cremation and were able to pick up his paw print and ashes that evening. I took my furkid to Eagle Animal hospital for many years before we moved to Florida.  I cannot recommend this place highly enough!Every member of the staff we encountered were always helpful and courteous.  The Dr.'s would thoroughly explain things to help make the best decisions for our beagle.  From boarding to checkups to emergency visits, I honestly can't say I ever had a bad experience bringing our boy there.  Reasonably price, knowledgeable, and caring - you can't ask for much more from a vet.  (There were also times, because Fonzi was a regular patient and they knew his ailments - I could just call in and they would prescribe me his meds over the phone if his allergies flared up - in order to save me the office visit charge.  Made me feel like they cared more about providing quality petcare than nickel and diming us - a rarity in this day and age.)Now, that being said -- just so this doesn't sound all  canned -- I should say one negative thing.  Their slope driveway can be a tad dicey in the winter time. We moved to Florida a few years ago, and never quite found a vet up to the par of Eagle down here.  But if you are in the KC area and looking for a quality vet...you will NOT go wrong with Eagle. When I saw their reviews on Google and Yelp, and all of the 50 reviews minus 2 or 3 were 5 stars, I couldn't believe my eyes.  So I called them around 2-3 pm on a Tuesday to see if they were able to get my dog in for an emergency sick appointment.  They were very nice and said as long as I got there before 5 pm, they would be happy to see me.  I got there in plenty of time where we were treated very nicely and everyone was smiling.  I did have to wait a little while but I did not mind since they were squeezing me in.  I think I waited less than 45 minutes.  Dr. Silvius was amazing and treated Roscoe with respect and made sure he felt comfortable.  He was very informative and the visit was very comfortable.  My pup had kennel cough and was given just the right amount of shots and medicine to heal right.  Hearing all of the other guests in and out while I was waiting showed their compassion towards all people and animals.  I will definitely recommend and continue to use them as long as I live in KC. I've been taking my chow chow here since he was a puppy and they do an amazing job.  Dr. Silvas is great with my pooch and is very honest and thorough about explaining to me the details with what is going on with Yo-Yo this month (I swear it seems like there is always something going on with him).  I like that Dr. Silvas' recommendations make sense and he's not always pushing me to do a more experience procedure.The ladies at reception are also very friendly and they know my dog by name.  Not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing It's great that the remodeling is happening and I think it is long overdue.  I can't wait to see it when everything is all complete!  The models make it lol like a whole new office all together! We moved to Kansas City and were looking for a vet for our two kitties. Eagle Animal Hospital was recommended to us and now we would never dream of going to any other office. The vets there, in particular Dr. Silvius, treat our animals as their own. A lot of people can say that, but they really put it into practice. They have genuine compassion and concern for not only the animals' well being, but also their overall health and lives. The Dr.'s and staff here have been nothing short of amazing. They were there when my old sharpei had to be put down due to a tumor crowding her insides and I have a new rescue that they have done such a great job of treating. I feel so secure boarding her there with them when I am out of town. This will be the second time and I know that they employ people that are animal lovers. This is hugely important to me as well. Helwo, I'm Jake the Labrador. I LOVE EAGLE ANIMAL HOSPITAL! SPECIALLY DR. READ! He's operated on my eyes and recently did three tendon repairs, only 1 hour after I hurt myself! Eagle also did after care when I had two ACL surgeries, yes TWO! Gina, Clare, Christy, Nicky and Britney take such GOOD care of me - and they're all so sweet and pretty...they give me free treats. My Mom, who is super smart, says she won't take me any place BUT EAGLE ANIMAL IN RIVERSIDE! They call her with reminders, and always follow-up on me to make sure Mom treats me good! Although they did put me on a diet recently... MOM SAYS THEY ARE THE BEST IN TOWN, and did I mention how smart Mom is? Smart... SHE GOES TO EAGLE ANIMAL HOSPITAL FOR ALL MY NEEDS!! Jan 3, 2011, I paid for a nail trim on my eight years old dog. After that, she limped and finally I checked her feet. Some front nails still were long. Jan 29 I returned to have the nail trimming repaired. Eagle requested I again pay for the Jan 3rd service. I explained that was wrong, especially after the many years I'd taken my pets to Dr. Sparks. After debate, a new dr approached me to say I could go somewhere else if I'm not satisfied. I told the new veternarian to have Dr. Sparks call me. Today is Feb 15, no contact from Dr. Sparks. Good business standards? Charge a consumer twice for original service? I'd hired that animal hospital for various services, put pets to sleep, yearly shots, so forth. Now -- do poor nails trimming so that the customer returns for repair and try to get the customer to pay again??? Read Less

On the eve of taking my kitties back to the vet, I'm reminded of why we go here.  We got our first kitten four years ago in May and I was a nervous mama.  She came from the farm was of course was wormy and needed to have "the" operation.  They took such good care of her and her owner (me) who must have called three times that day to make sure the surgery went well and I asked if someone would be there overnight for her.  (I know, it's just a cat, right?)  When we got our other kitty we had all sorts of questions about introducing the two of them and all questions were patiently answered by the staff and our vet.  The younger kitty did well with his first time at the vet, we were proud.  Once again, tonight, we are nervous.  Kitty I can't keep any food down and I'm afraid Kitty II has a gum infection.  We will figure it out, for sure. They always answer all of my questions and don't make feel like I'm being dumb or paranoid about the health of my animals. Read Less
