Every last employee we talked to were more than helpful & extremely pleasant. Everyone there seemed to truly enjoy their job. I even noticed a few employees taking a moment to pet the dogs while reassuring their owners that their fur babies were in good hands. I arrived early to assure I had a good parking spot & didn’t have to wait long to check in. The process is down to a science there. They have designated areas for each step & our visit went quickly & smoothly. Considering the amount of cats & dogs that come through this place it is extremely clean & does not smell as some previous reviews mentioned. When you arrive for pick up, they again have a great process for giving you your information, teaching you a bit about after surgery care & getting your pet back to you. Not a single complaint from us! I was able to get my pet fixed, microchipped & her rabies shot for around $120!!! This is an amazing deal from a passionate organization who truly goes above & beyond!! Read Less

I have absolutely no complaints about staff, service or the facility. We've used this service numerous times and been more than satisfied with everything provided. The staff is courteous, friendly and very professional. They obviously care about customer service and the pets they care for. The entire facility is clean and tidy. Several waiting areas that do get crowded quickly on walk-in days. Take the advice, on those days show up WAY EARLY to avoid a lengthy, but understandable wait. If you call on the phone and they don't answer, it means they are tending to animal and existing customer care. First come, first served. Phone included. Fees are extremely reasonable, and donations are appreciated to offset the charitable aspect of the business. Also, ask for their material goods "wish list". A few rolls of paper towels, toilet paper or retired bath towels, etc, would be appreciated, I'm sure. This place provides a wonderful and much-needed service. I'm very grateful for all they do. Very thorough and friendly. You could tell they really cared about the animals. Very cheap, and the offer free follow up. The reason this isn't 5 is the fact that the entrance is a little odd to find and the fact that they can add on fees, such as if they find a flea on your pet, theyll give them flea treatment and charge without consulting you first. But they do have signs alerting you to these, so just read them before you leave Read Less

The pros: Extremely affordable vaccines and standard annual blood tests (cats and dogs). Super efficient and friendly staff who love what they do. Super clean and well appointed waiting rooms, office, and exam rooms. The cons: Popularity and restricted hours means very full waiting rooms and considerable wait times. Minimal parking and a difficult to enter/exit lot directly located off of Jefferson. Tip: Come 30 mins before opening to be one of the first in line. Otherwise expect a significant wait (which isn't too bad if you're a people watcher and animal lover like me.) Read Less

I took Tony in to be neutered. My cat had a black tar like substance all over his face when I picked him up. No one explained to me why. And he was in the kennel, so I didn't notice until we got home. When his cone came off, he tried to clean this substance off of his face, it ripped all his fur off causing him to bleed. The surgery was a success and he had no complications, but this was very upsetting. Read Less

Very nice people and very caring of the animals. They call and check up on how their doing after spay or nuetering. Their a non-profit organization so all donations are appreciated. They help with low cost if you qualify. But if not they are still cheaper than the veterinarian I have around here.i was in a spot with several females being pregnant. I didn't need more animals to feed. The vets here didn't care they just wanted all the they could plus more for pregnant ones. To help me. In which I got none. But I will donate to the carol house when ever I possibly can. If your on low income and need help with your pets, that's the place to go.also certain times of the month they have a transport that can pick up the pet and keep overnight bring back next morning. Just call them and they will try to help anyway they can. Read Less

Sometimes it's a little dicey getting in and out. The staff is all in all great. But dealing with the public and upset / nervous animals, sometimes they get a little crabby. Buts it's a machine. Will always recommend them to anyone that needs animal care. Wish our local veterinarians would offer services at a lower cost too. Read Less

This place is awesome. If you need anything like shots, chips, or grooming for your pet go here. They love their jobs you can tell. I went here with my mom and Mellow (cat). The clinic opens at 12 but they will let you in at 1130. Go early because it fills up fast. Take my word. We went for a rabies shot. They looked mellow over gave her the shot and that was that. They are about their business. It's based on first come first serve. They have separate waiting rooms the the animals, which is awesome. Dogs are to be on a lease, cats in a crate, cage, bag. Some of the rules they had...... You are responsible for your pet. Do not let them walk up to other pets. If you bring children do not let them pet other pets you are responsible if something happens. Also the pricing they have online are the prices you pay. Tax is already included. We sent our pup in on their low-cost spay and neuter program. They offer a "special" where they come down to Wayne County where we live, pick up your pet and transport them up to the clinic, perform the surgery and return them the following morning. When we picked him up, his carrier had crumpled up, urine-soaked newspapers in the bottom. When we asked if he had any antibiotics or pain meds and we're told no, they don't furnish any.Three days later his scrotum became massively swollen and inflamed. We called the clinic and we're told that we would have to bring him in to the clinic (120 miles from us) or wait four days until one if their vets could see him at a closer location that was still an hour drive. Obviously he was in pain and something was wrong, so we took him in to our regular vet. When we sat him up on the exam table, his incision burst open and pink pus poured out. They immediately took him into surgery and had to remove his scrotum entirely as well as open him up about 8 inches to flush out all the infection. They said the infection was internal, more than likely contaminated during the initial surgery. $300 and $80 worth of antibiotics and our pup was back at home...so much for a "low-cost" program. Since the wife and and are on disability, our only option was get a cash advance that will cost us 25% interest if we can't get it paid off in 6 months. I'll never take another pet to them, needless to say. Puppy mills are terrible, so what's great about a "spay and neuter" mill when the animals don't get a quality surgery and no aftercare is available? Read Less

I rescued a dog from Diana's Pet Grove Rescue. They have a contract with Carol House, so I could get my puppy fixed for no cost. Making the appointment was weird. If you aren't going to be able to talk to anyone. The phone should go straight to prompts. It's confusing, I didn't get a call back for two days. I ended up going into the place to schedule the appointment. Drop off was at 7 and pick up at 4. There was about 20-25 people picking up animals. Its a hectic and the process its slow. I was number 8 at pick up and I was there until about 4:40. Despite some lack of organization. I looked at their prices and they are extremely affordable. I bought one month of heart guard and flea medicine for a total of 19.00. The staff was friendly and answered questions that I had. If you don't mind the process taking a while, I would recommend this place. Also, some reviews said it's a bad area. You'll be fine. Update.... I live in the area so I'm able to walk my dog up on Saturdays during their clinic good hours. Service is fast for this. My dog can get his nails clipped for 5 bucks, anal glands for the same price, and can get in and out for vaccinations and medicine. Hours are 10 to 2 on Saturday.Read Less

My husband and I adopted a puppy through Diana's Grove. He was too young to fix at the time (or so they thought) but our adoption fee included this procedure so we were told to bring him to Carol House Quick Fix Pet Clinic. I called and scheduled his appointment, received my confirmation - all was well. A week AFTER scheduling the procedure, Carol House called and told me "they were no longer working with Diana's Grove and we would have to pay the full cost of the surgery." WHAT?! We have paid! We have scheduled! How can you call a standing appointment and turn them away? This is an issue between the rescue and Carol House, this should have nothing to do with my puppy or my wallet! We will be going elsewhere with our pup, I can't trust a clinic who can turn around and push all the issues on their customers. On top of this issue, they don't answer their phone when you call and they take DAYS to return messages.Read Less

I'm trying my hardest too be patient b.c I've brought 2 animals here in the past n absolutely adored this place...however today has really caused me to doubt the procedures here.. .. but when I checked him in yesterday they had me sign a disclosure saying if they find fleas on him they will give him cap star to kill them and charge me 5$ I signed willingly and said yes please do I'll gladly pay the extra $5 .. but i know he doesnt have fleas.....since  hes been indoors for his first few months of life... his brother also is an indoor cat..well when I picked him up today the lady in front of me had a pet that did have fleas and was treated... my kitten however was "flea free".... on the way home I was holding him  I start feeling what feels like fleas... we get home..on the porch I brush him and sure enough! I find 5 huge fleas ... so not only did he just have surgery and has stitches ..and needs to rest... but now I've got him on the porch combing and applying dry flea shampoo the whole works.since I can't bathe him b.c of his stitches..... talk about traumatic.. I'm so irratated and worried that he will give them to my other cat starting a vicious cycle... I've owned cats my whole life and have dealt with fleas brought in by a new kitten... which is a huge cost and drama...  he needs to be resting... Im seriously feeling hopeless disqusted and a little betrayed that they didn't do their job... if they are looking for fleas why wasn't he treated? I found them instantly.. .money isn't an issue one bit if it meant stopping a flea cycle... but now I'm afraid its too late since I've called them several times with no answer.. I had no choice but to take him inside... n now my husband picked him up and had another flea jump off him,... if you take ur animal here I highly suggest getting a good flea prevention applied before hand.... If you come in later during peak hours or a weekend, expect to wait a couple of hours. We brought our little dog here to get neuter our dog. We brought him in on Saturday morning and waited about 45 min. The people who work here are VERY friendly and nice and helpful and will answer any question you might have. We left the dog here the rest of the day and picked him up in the evening. We paid $90 ish for the procedure and they chipped him. Of course our dog is high maintenance and I had to bring him back once because he opened his incision but even then the wait was not too terrible and the service was excellent. I was so impressed wit the service that I also brought in our larger lab to get chipped. The prices here are very low if you do not want to spend the money on vet visits. The service is excellent and the people are great. My dog who was neutered, his incision healed beautifully and there was no scar which I was expecting.I would recommend this place for budget conscious people who care about their pets well being and are not pretentious to the location, and the waiting you will have to do. I lost my beloved Kitty this winter. Some wonderful friends bestowed upon me a stray that had wandered up on their porch in the freezing cold. I wasn't sure if I wanted to keep this fellow, but I figured the least I could do is get him vaccinated and neutered, because if there's one thing this city does not need, it's more unhealthy stray animals roaming the alleys.Carol House Quick Fix, a non-profit subsidized clinic, is simply amazing. I waited a week for my appointment, but when they are offering $20 neutering services in January, I could be patient. The staff are exemplary. The services are inexpensive. The treatment is stellar. I can't say enough good things about this place. Thank you to Carol House, Petsmart, Purina, and many others who make this wonderful service available. My boy--yes, he's a keeper--thanks you as well! This place is awesome.I was afraid this was going to be like a dog factory - quick and dirty, impersonal, you leave feeling a sense of shame and guilt...wait that was my last night in Vegas...nevermind.This place wasn't like that at all. They are what they are - a subsidized low cost spay/neuter clinic - but they do it so well. They were booked out for their neutering service so I'm going to drop my boy off a couple weeks from now for that, but I went for his shots and microchipping today, and I was quite pleased.Get there EARLY. They only do their wellness clinics (pretty much anything a pet needs besides getting fixed) Tuesdays and Saturdays from 12-2 only. I got there at 12 on the dot today (Tuesday) and there were already 7 people in front of me. I waited a good 45 minutes to be brought back. I don't blame them for it, though. More accurately, I think it's great that people are utilizing this awesome low-cost service and getting their pets taken care of.The med tech was super friendly and explained everything to me and made sure I was comfortable with them taking my new puppy back. He got three shots and a microchip in, like, two minutes. The vet then came and explained everything to me, including all about the heartworm preventative they were giving me. They were quick and efficient like a clinic like this should be without making me feel rushed. This is seriously the place to go if your dog or cat needs vaccinations, deworming, heartworm meds, microchipping, and of course, to get their manhood/womanhood taken away. ;) I am getting my puppy neutered for TWENTY DOLLARS next month, on a special. $20! That is $105 less than what the vet was going to do it for.Run, don't walk, with your pup or kitty to Carol House Quick Fix Pet Clinic. Read Less

I love that a local business, Carol House Furniture  also gives back to our community by helping control the pet population of Saint Louis. Brook and Amy are both big homeless pet advocates and for me it speaks volumes that they walk the talk by providing this clinic to the Saint Louis area. Having your pet spayed or neutered not only helps control unwanted litters, but it also improves the health of your dog or cat.  Many of us pet owners know, having your pet fixed can be a costly procedure. Here at CHQFPX, you can do it at a very reasonable price. Dogs are only $59 and cats can be fixed for only $39. The month of February 2013 they are having a cat special for only $20. On Saturday, between 12-2 you can also get various shots for your pets at a fraction of the cost as well. Let's  not have any unwanted litters and increase the number of pets in our local animal shelters. Take this opportunity and have your pet spayed or neutered  here. Read Less

Read Less

I have had great experiences at Carol House quick fix. I have had 3 of my retired show dogs spayed or neutered there and they were totally caring and professional. I refer them often to people seeking an alternative to traditional vet clinics with their high costs. They definitely fill a void and make responsible pet ownership possible to folks of all income brackets. Read Less

Last week my cat's microchip company called me and told me my cat was brought into Carol House Quick Fix Clinic. I went to the clinic, three hours after I was called, to get my cat but the clinic didn't want to return him because he was brought in by a family that wanted to adopt him. A tech actually told me that she told the chip company not to call me. I was surprised and angry that she told me that and told her that her the family didn't have a the option to adopt my cat. After an hour of demanding my cat back he was given to me. Who knows how many loved fur-babies they've given away to strangers. Read Less

After explaining what issues I had with the stray that I found, I drove 45 minutes up only to have them call me 5 minutes after I left to decline to neuter the kitten because of the issues I had described on the phone a week before that I was told wouldn't be an issue. I had to leave work and lose 5 hours of pay to get my cat. There are better programs through Humane Society and other rescue associations. Save yourself time and money and support an organization that knows what they're talking about.  Absolutely horrendous organization. Read Less

They fixed my baby and did amazing. They were very patient and understanding. It is wonderful how they fix so many animals and have the best attitudes. The women that work the front desk are dry with a lack of personality. I do suggest getting two women or two men that love their jobs instead of just being there but the helpers who come out and get your dog are very sweet and kind. We had both of our dogs fixed it and would only change customer service. Read Less

This clinic is interesting........Its basically a first come first serve clinic. You get here early, take a number and will be called quickly.

Read Less
