I had an appointment at 7am. I got there at 6:50am and all of the lights were off....no biggie they open at 7am. At 7:02am staff starting walking past my care and in to the office and the lights cam...
I had an appointment at 7am. I got there at 6:50am and all of the lights were off....no biggie they open at 7am. At 7:02am staff starting walking past my care and in to the office and the lights came on around 7:06am. The policy is to call and check in for your appointments then they meet you at the door. As I am sitting in my vehicle several of the employees are loitering around the front desk and see me so they walk out of view. I am the only non-employee vehicle parked at the front door with engine running and lights on. At 7:12am I decide to take my cat into the lobby as voice mail is still on when I call the number. The receptionist comes out and asks me did I call to check in....I say your voice mail is still on and she says "I am getting calls so I don't know where you're calling" as I dial so she can hear she says let me look to see if you have an appointment and goes back inside. The other lady starts staring and rolling eyes like I disrupted her morning chat....After another 5 minutes watching them at the computer I knock lightly on the door and wave goodbye. The receptionist comes out and I play the recording that is STILL ON and show her the number. She says it is taking so long because she is printing my paperwork. I say that if they can treat me like they do not care there is no way I can leave my baby with them and trust she is getting cared for. She can't tell me if she is mistreated and I am no longer comfortable leaving her because I don't know if she will be cared for. No apology, just said if I decide to reschedule by calling she will help me. It is now 7:25pm and no one has reached out, apologized or attempted to contact me to reschedule.
I never do reviews! I am not being spiteful, just hurt and concerned. I loved this place and have referred complete strangers to them because I LOVE the vet. Wonder if she knows this is how the humans are treated! I have never been treated this way but it takes one encounter to make an impression. Especially when the attitude was one where they did not care! Hope no one else ever has this experience with them.

I have a chihuahua that I rescued, and before I got her, all but three of her teeth had been taken out. I brought her in to Vet Stop to check her remaining three teeth after she had issues eating (turns out it was just a stomach bug). They looked at the three teeth, told me two of them were loose and that they needed to be pulled right away. They handed me a pamphlet of the specialty veterinary dentist they recommended. I give them a call and they wanted $125 for a consultation and $800-1200 to remove the teeth!!! I was referred to another vet that does teeth removals and they quoted me $250. Obviously, I choose to send my dog there. They then told me that the teeth were perfectly healthy and well seated. There was no need to take them out, and she was under anesthesia for nothing. Vet Stop must be getting a cut from this speciality dentist, or else they wouldn't have told me that her teeth NEEDED to come out.

I took my cat to this clinic to get her declawed. When I walked in, the front desk girls pretty much ignored me until I asked for their assistance. I then went into the exam room and tried talking with the vet about the procedure and also some other concerns of my cat, but she would not listen to me at all. She was rude and didn't let me finish talking before she tried to make me buy some super expensive medication for my cat with no testing or anything! I had the declawing procedure done and we got her back the same day (which after looking it up I learned that is not normal since good vets like to keep the animal over night to monitor them as the drugs wear off) and upon getting her home noticed that her paws had not been bandaged right. The tape was stuck directly ON the wounds and her fur all the way up her leg. We ended up reopening some of her wounds and ripping half her fur off her legs trying to get the wrappings off. I will never bring any pet here again.

I am so grateful that I had Dr. McKnight and Dr. Smith care for my pug Chloe for the past 8-10 years. I always felt that they had Chloe's best interest at heart and truly cared for her as I did. The staff in the office were always friendly and helpful, and were kind and supportive when they learned of Chloe's passing. I received a hand written sympathy card signed by the staff after she passed away. I know that may sound like nothing, but it meant a lot to me to know that they took the time to write messages to me. You don't see that much in our world today. I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a veterinarian.

I brought my puppy into Vet Stop last summer while I was in St. Louis for an internship and I thought that the staff and vets were so great! They were able to get his heartworm medication for me that I had left back home and when he got sick, they did a thorough and affordable check up.
I would highly recommend this clinic!

I've been going there for well over 10 years now. The offices, waiting room or exam rooms have NEVER been dirty. And every time I'm there I personally see them cleaning the exam rooms after each client and have been the last appointment of the day and see them cleaning the rest of the facility. Dr. Smith and Dr. McKnight are two of the most compassionate and knowledgeable vets that I know and I have complete faith in them. Everyone of their staff is knowledgeable, courteous and has been very helpful in each and every call or visit we've ever made there. After losing our last two dogs due to old age a couple of years ago, there was never any thought of going anywhere else when we got the next two. I would recommend them to everyone.

Do Not Go Here! 1 star is too many! Office was dirty. Wait was long. I should of just left. But was worried about my dog. Just got her as a rescue. She has kennel cough and was on meds. She just wasn't doing well with the meds she was on. Dr would not listen to the problems with meds. Said she it was fine. Was supposed to be a check up and Dr. only looked in one ear and checked her teeth.I talked about heart worm meds. Wanted new dog on same stuff as the dog I already have. Dr. again wouldn't listen. Told me to use a more expensive brand that my dog dosn't need. I use a more additional flea and tick med that suits our dogs better. I don't need flea protection in a heart worm med. I could have been talking to a wall.That was Tues, by Thursday my dog went from 15 to 14 lbs. Would not eat or drink (problem with meds was told not to worry about it.) She was having trouble breathing and was throwing up. Temperature of 103. She is now staying overnight at Mexico Animal Hospital. They have been wonderful! She needed lots of fluids, different antibiotics by injection. They are doing blood work and Xrays as well. My poor dog did not need to suffer. She could be happy at home running in the yard and playing with her family.

I brought my puppy into Vet Stop last summer while I was in St. Louis for an internship and I thought that the staff and vets were so great! They were able to get his heartworm medication for me that I had left back home and when he got sick, they did a thorough and affordable check up.
I would highly recommend this clinic!

And every time I'm there I personally see them cleaning the exam rooms after each client and have been the last appointment of the day and see them cleaning the rest of the facility. Dr. Smith and Dr. McKnight are two of the most compassionate and knowledgeable vets that I know and I have complete faith in them.
