Our baby Zelda, a one year old black lab, got extremely ill, so ill that we thought we were going to lose her.  Even after surgery, she was not improving.  Dr. Caldwell and his staff were amazing.  They refused to give up on our baby.  Caitlin, and the other staff members ( I wish I could remember all of their names), stayed by her side when we couldn't be, and kept trying to feed her, bathed her, just loved her.  Finally, Zelda started eating again at home.  And today, we are finally out of the woods.  We have our happy healthy baby back, thanks to the compassion of these wonderful folks.  We are forever grateful! Deerfield is the only place I will take my animals. I have a cat that doesn't really like people, especially in strange places. Dr. Denise always takes special care with her. She always answers any and all questions, and makes you feel like family. The facility is always clean and the staff always very friendly. We've been taking our pets to Deerfield Clinic for nearly 25 years. I highly recommend them. All concerns no matter how small are treated with equal importance. One of the best vet hospitals I've experienced. I was unfamiliar with Springfield. My rescue dog appeared to be in pain one evening. The next morning I called this vet hospital at 7 am and they allowed me to drop her off immediately so that they could take a look at her while I was at work. She came home very happy and pain free. I have since taken her in for a dental cleaning and had yet another wonderful experience with them. They took very good care of my shy and timid rescue dog. The place is very clean and the staff is very nice. The doctors take their time with your pet and are willing to spend time answering questions. I think my dog gets better care here than most humans can expect from their doctor. I boarded my dog here for a week and he came home looking happy and healthy. The staff, each one, at Deerfield is very caring to both the patient and the parent! We received exceptional care, and very prompt and caring customer service! Dr. Denise! I've never had a doctor that was more caring, kind, compassionate, and communicative than Dr. Denise. Dr. Denise took care of my furry child, cat, with so much care. She called me multiple times a day as needed to keep me updated to how he was doing, when he stayed a few nights at the clinic. She was absolutely a God send. She knew we spent a ridiculous amount at the emergency clinic before we brought him to to Deerfield (and we still had no idea what was wrong other than, he survived the night at the emergency clinic, we didn't even speak to the emergency vet because she sent the tech to check us out, pay the bill and leave). Once we brought him to Deerfield, super early as soon as the clinic opened, Dr. Denise called to let us know how he was doing, and she kept us updated while we could not see him (we went to work).I recommend Dr. Denise to any caring pet parent. I've never felt like a vet was so in tune with the cat as well as the parents. After our baby got a little better, he was released and even though we didn't always see Dr. Denise (do to our work schedule) I use to call her with questions and she would spend as much time as we needed to answer our questions- sometimes 20 minutes. She consulted us over the phone without charging us a dime. The meds he received, we purchased from the vet, were very reasonably priced. The visit prices were very reasonable as well. Read Less

I wrote a review about three years ago, but I have to write another. My pup got really sick 2 days ago to the point he was unable to walk. Deerfield has always been my goto place for veterinary care. I cannot express how much Deerfield made this experience somewhat bearable. I was worried no end, but they called me through out the day and kept me upto date. I always can count on them to take care of Royce. After two long days, my boy is back to being himself and I cannot thank you guys for your amazing work! Thank you again for putting up with me! I have never had my animals to a more loving and top notch vet hospital. The entire Staff and doctors are quite simply the best and most caring I've ever dealt with. If you can't stand great reviews...just pass this one now. I have never come across ANY vet clinic/doctor group that comes anywhere near this one! All the doctors are top-notch and really delightful to have as part of our animal family.And the staff? Just impossible to match -- especially Kristin.We have two cats and the fact that they are easily more comfortable in this facility than they have been anywhere else also says a lot. Our animals were already fixed when we moved to Springfield, so we have no surgery experience with them. However, my husband's mother and sister have both needed surgery for their animals (dogs and cats) and everyone has been completely happy with the procedures.We had heard so much about Deerfield before we moved here, in fact, that we were a bit hesitant to automatically take them on their recommendations. Now, we've seen for ourselves that all we had been told is true and we will always recommend them to anyone we know for any kind of vet concerns.We will always be pet owners, so we rest assured that we will be part of their family for life! They have been very kind & helpful with Pepper, our mixed collie, for the last 12 plus years. They helped ease the pain for all of us during Pepper's bout with diabetes & the final months of her life. Dr. Hilton & staff inherited the difficult time but handled it like the pros they are. This is the only Vet office I recommend! Our primary vet is Dr. Denise and I know she loves out dog as much as we do. We have always been made to feel like we are a part of their family. Visits are never rushed and you are never forced into something you're not sure of. They will give you all the medical options for your situation...they arm you with info...so you can make informed choices. Right after I lost my mother, I almost lost my dog Kylee, who is my baby. Dr. Ned knew exactly what to do and saved her life! Dr. Denise is the best! She treated our little Rocky like her own, and helped us with his difficult journey from diagnosis to the end. He loved going for visits at Deerfield, and left this world with dignity. Dave and I were also lovingly cared for during this awful time. Shortly after, Daisy needed dentistry, and while it was difficult to leave her for the procedure, Dr. Ned again was as attentive to the human family members as he was to Daisy. Ming had bowel issues, and Deerfield Vet was able to take him in the next day. The 7am-7pm hospital hours made it so convenient to drop Ming off before and after my work day. Dr. Bendickson took care of Ming, and he gave me a call to update me on how things were doing. He fully explained what he thought is wrong with Ming and what his treatment plan is.
