Healing Paws was the 5th clinic I had tried after moving to the area five years ago. I wish they had been my first. Dr. Wantuck is fantastic and so dedicated to providing the best care possible for my fur babies. Everyone is so welcoming, kind and compassionate from the moment you walk in to the moment you leave. They all go the extra mile in every way. Their boarding accommodations far surpass any I had previously seen. No cubed cages with wire mesh bottoms. They are spacious and so reasonably priced. Dr. Wantuck and Dr. Robinson are professional, caring and knowledgeable vets. I’m a many decade pet owner who has lived in many cities and I can say they are the best vets we’ve ever had. The entire staff is kind, polite, knowledgeable and attentive. The facility is immaculate and our wait time is always minimal. Dr. Wantuck performed a very complicated surgery on one of my dogs a couple years ago. It’s my fervent belief she is the premier canine surgeon in the area. The staff is top notch! They truly love my 3 dogs and my boys all love them! I love the stress free environment and the lengths the team takes to make sure each pet has enjoyable visits. I have lived in many different states and can say when I found we were moving I was less than thrilled to find a new vet but am so incredibly pleased that we got such a great vet on our first try! They have NEVER pressured us to spend a ton of money or opt for unnecessary procedures. And I cant stress enough how respectful and courteous every member of the staff has been. In the last year we have had roughly 10-12 visits and NEVER had an issue nor have I ever seen a single staff member speak over people or interrupt! Dr Wantuck has been treating my dogs for years and is one of the most caring and compassionate vets. I seriously love this place. I have a 4th month old bishon & i took a whole week trying to find the right place & I finally did. My pup had her vaccines done & the ladies were so nice & friendly since the beginning.They even gave my pup treats to calm her down. When my baby, Zorro, was diagnosed with tracheal collapse and a heart murmur everyone was very caring and compassionate. They didn't just shove medicine and a bill at me, they truly cared for both of our well-beings. When Zorro had to be rushed to the emergency vet they called the next day to check on us. Unfortunately Zorro lost the battle and passed away July 2nd. I know that Dr. Wantuck and everyone else did everything they could. Zorro was in good hands. I have personally had Dr. Wantuck as a vet and she and Dr. Domann and their staff take great care, time and attention with those entrusted in their care. We are lucky to work with them thru Watching Over Whiskers now and know that our fosters, many of which are emergency intake, will be in great hands - including two recent amputations. Dr. Wantuck and her staff at Healing Paws are an awesome group! My dog has been in Dr. Wantuck's care for the past 8 years. I couldn't be happier with her. She is a kind, compassionate, and overall extremely caring doctor. She truly cares about her patients and I trust that she always has their best interest at heart. My dog loves her and she has proven to be an excellent judge of character over the years. :) I believe Dr. Wantuck is the best of the best and I'd recommend her to anyone! On a sidenote, I saw a review that was posted earlier that I just have to address. There is a post here in which Dr. Wantuck was given a one star review and I just can't believe there is much truth to it. Knowing the strong moral character and trustworthiness that I have seen Dr. Wantuck display in handling my pet and the pets of friends I have sent her way over an 8 year period of time it just all seems a bit odd to me and completely out of character for her if what they have said is true. Personally, I think their post seems a bit fishy and unbelievable after reading over it a couple of times. Suggesting a dog that isn't paralyzed yet be put down because it "might" end up paralyzed...not likely. 3 trusted chiropractors that work with animals that would look at your xrays...really...wow. Just some things to think about...couldn't just ignore what I feel is an attack on an amazing doctor of great integrity. Read Less

My dachshund was in pain, hanging his head, moping around. Dr. Wantuck showed us his x-ray and told us he had a vertebrae putting pressure on his spinal cord and if he moved the wrong way he would be paralyzed. She said he needed to be put down and there was nothing we could do. We put him on meds to help his pain while we cried over what to do. We called and asked their opinion on taking him to get adjusted, if that would possibly help the problem. They said no, that might paralyze or kill him. Luckily, we didn't listen, because that makes no sense. End his life rather than try treatment that MIGHT help, or could maybe end his life?? We sent his x-rays to three different chiropractors we know and trust, one who has a history working on a variety of animals. Each one said they didn't know what she was talking about, because the vertebrae she circled was fine, and not the problem at all. His back was out of place somewhere completely different, and he had a little bit of arthritis in places. They said they saw next to no risk in having him adjusted. We slowly eased him off pain meds so we could accurately judge what helped and took him in for one simple, painless adjustment. He was back to normal and in no more pain. I would have killed my dog had I trusted this woman, for nothing. Always get a second opinion. Read Less

Healing Paws Veterinary Clinic is by far the BEST vet I have been to in Springfield MO. The place looks great and is always clean. The staff is very friendly and polite, happily greeting clients and their pets. Lauren is great at what she does and always returns phone calls when there is a concern. Dr. Ross is AMAZING with my two cats. She has been the most caring, understanding, and honest vet I have been to. She takes her time and truly wants what is best for my kitties. She has gone over and beyond to help my one special needs kitty and without her time, skills, and kindness – he would not be with me today. She truly wants to help the patients she sees.
