My husband and I went to Millwood Animal Hospital for years for our dogs. We had so many horrible experiences, it's difficult to pick a few to explain why we would never take another pet here. If you've been to Millwood and had a great experience, it's probably because of staff members that are long gone by now. We put one of our four dogs through complete torture for months following all of Dr. Smith's advice. Our dog suffered through a painful eye ulcer for months and even had a surgery with Dr. Smith recommending to stitch our dog's eye closed for a week. It became infected and left him with scar tissue that bothers his eye. Only after a second opinion did we find out his eye could be healed by a $17 serum made from his own blood. Once we did this, the eye healed in 3 days. We spent over $1500 over several months on our dogs eye and his ears. Our new vet cured his ears in a week, with no reoccurrence. Dr. Smith also blamed food allergies for the eye and ear problems and convinced us to get him tested. Our new Vet tells us these tests are just a way to make money and are not valid. Since she fixed our dog's eye and ears without him changing his dog food, we now agree it was a waste of time and money. Beyond that, if that isn't enough, our dog was put on an expensive heart medication for several years. He was on the highest dose. The new Vet would not give him this medication without checking the heart herself, at which point we found his heart was perfectly normal (enlarged hearts do not heal) and he did not need any medication. Switching Vet offices, we now know we spent well over $5,000. on tests, surgeries and medications we did not need on just this one dog. We left Millwood Animal Hospital over a year ago, so I can attest that all the issues we had with our dog have not reoccurred since changing to a new Vet. Read Less

The service we receive here is fantastic. We know that our dogs are truly cared for here and Dr. Braun is fantastic. She is always willing to help us find ways to improve the quality of life for our dogs. The services are always affordable. There's absolutely no other clinic that we would trust with our dogs. They quoted us $27/night for boarding my dog. I was excited and asked if that was for not neutered, as other businesses I called were quoting me around $50/ night. They never told me any different. When dropping him off the care giver says 'oh! your dog is not neutered' to which I replied 'No, is this a problem?' She said no and nothing else was said. The employee was very friendly and took us on a tour. My daughter and I completed the tour and went on vacation. When I picke...d my dog up Sunday, a week later I noticed my bill was double the originally quoted price. I asked why I was charged more. At that point The employee explained that it is $55/night. I told her I was never told that price and she very politely apologized but unable to do much. After two weeks of calling and leaving multiple messages for the owner to please contact me and being told the owner was out of office but should be back the next day, the owner finally returns my call and says basically I was told multiple times of the cost difference and that no money will be refunded and offered to wash my dog for compensation.
