Route 66 Pet Clinic

I just took my rescue dog in for her first post-adoption vet visit for her vaccine updates and check-up. She's got some socialization issues and is slightly fear-aggressive, so I was imagining the worst trying to pick somewhere to get all this done! In short, Route 66 is amazing! Jason uses a very warm, calm tone that didn't alarm my dog, and was very upfront about costs both in the office and on the phone while scheduling, which is always nice. The office and rooms were very clean, and Dr. Becky and her tech-gal were awesome! They let my dog get warmed up to them before we even put her on the table, were slow and deliberate with their movements, and all around definitely know what they're doing with a fearful dog. They give honest feedback and suggestions on care products without being pushy or making you feel like you're in an infomercial, and happily answered any question I had! We'll definitely be back! This is a wonderful place! We've been coming for a few years with our pets. Dr. Becky always does a great job explaining everything happening with the pet, and you can tell her love and concern for the animals. Jason is great at the front desk as well. Professional, gentle staff! This is the only place I've ever brought my cats wear no one was bleeding at the end of the appointment and my cats weren't completely traumatized by the experience. The price was incredibly reasonable to and the vet was honest about the treatments my cats needed and informative. She didn't try to make me buy a bunch of things to make money off me unnecessarily. Phenomenal service. Veterinarian and staff are compassionate and clearly care about their patients. I had been taking my dog to another facility in town, and they kept guessing at what was wrong with him and throwing steroids at him to try and fix the problem. When we called to tell them it wasn't getting better, they gave us more steroids to give to him. After frustration and no improvement, I took him to Route 66 and immediately upon examination, Dr. Becky discovered a mass in the roof of his mouth and around his nose that the other place never caught. She prescribed antibiotics to try to improve, but she was honest and compassionate when she informed me that it could be cancer. I'm taking him back for further diagnosis and care, but this place was a lot better than the previous vet he was at. More affordable, too. Read Less

If you're looking for a vet, route 66 is the place to go. The top things to note about route 66 is the friendly staff and the excellent care the vet gives to any animal. I feel comfortable leaving my pet in her care. I've been to many places and I will never look any further or go ANYWHERE else in Springfield. They are simply the best. Read Less

I had to look for a new Veterinarian in Springfield (after moving). Great caring people, Dr. Becky takes her time and listens. My cat was misdiagnosed and she helped her recover. Not only that, but they called me every day to see how Lucky was doing. Very impressive. Read Less

I had two 10 week old puppies come down sick with parvovirus. We found her in the phone book and was the only vet willing to see them without an appointment first. We got there, she took them straight back. We expected a very high cost also. She treated both of them, they are both doing great. And it cost us less than $400.00 for both of them. I've been here twice so far with two different dogs for their yearly shots and I am so impressed! The clinic atmosphere and environment is very clean and friendly. They're all so professional and treat my dogs wonderfully. I've been to a few vets before I found Rt. 66 and I have notice that Dr. Becky is very thorough and informative in the exams but very gentle. Which in my opinion are hard qualities to fine in a vet. I will definitely be taking my other two dogs to her when it's time for their yearly shots as well! Read Less

Dr. Becky and Jason are absolutely wonderful! It's not often that you see a vet clinic that is as clean, caring, and helpful as Route 66. I am not from the area and have struggled to find a vet that I felt spent the time to care about the pet being looked at. Most vets were in and out and not very personable, or very overpriced. We have taken all three of our pets there now and have never been upset or disappointed with the care they received. The last time we visited we brought in a very, very sick kitten and were told at the beginning that it didn't look good but Dr. Becky gave us some options (and a little bit of hope) and was able to nurse our boy back to health. They made us feel very comfortable even when facing what could have been a very hard decision.
