This is a great place to take your pet. The vets are pragmatic and caring and the staff is always very friendly. If you have an urgent situation that is not an emergency they will work with you to get your pet in quickly. Plus, now that they are a VCA vet, lab results are generally available the next day! Best vet office I have ever dealt with!

we have gone here for years but lately it seems to have gone hill fast. The staff is always rude and unprofessional anytime we call or go in. Over the years we have needed emergency visits, we take them in they look at them and tell it’s nothing or they don’t see anything then charge us an expensive emergency fee. Every time we have had to go back the next day because our pet is worse than the day before, we again get charged the emergency fee and other fees. I can see this happening as pets can’t speak to say what is wrong but every single time and then charge us office visit/emergency visits every single time seems ridiculous. Sometimes after they fail to treat the issue the day before they are too busy the day after to get them in when they know the pet is in pain because they witnessed the shaking, crying, and all that just the day before. We also take our pets in every 6 months for full work ups and shots, we hadn’t not shown up for appointments but when my car broke down on the side of the road in 98 degree heat so I called them to let them know what was going on and that I will probably need to reschedule as I don’t know that I can be on time they got really rude and said if we can’t make it then we won’t be seen again. Then picked up the phone and called my boyfriends sister who isn’t the pet owner or anything to tell her we were failing an appointment but someone needed to have the dogs there at 1. We had already paid for the appointment (almost $2500 for our pets to have physicals, shots, heart worm, flea and tick, etc) and never not showed up and I called as soon as I got off the phone with the tow truck, and that’s what they tell me. I could understand if we missed appointments all the time (us both being in health care we know how it affects the practice when you no show or cancel last minute). I have 2 hungry kids in my car in the middle of July, no shade, the tow truck said it would be about 2 hours and they want to threaten us if we can’t find a way there, horrible. Not sympathetic to families when they lose a pet either, same rude staff as usual. Customer service is horrible and we feel like they’re ripping us off with the not treating our pets so we have to come back.

I take my cat here regularly. He's pretty aggressive and they kind of antagonize him instead of being gentle with him but I can't really blame them too much, he's a lot to handle.
When we put down our nearly 16 year old Schnauzer here, we were all devasted, crying to the point that my mom gave herself a nosebleed. They were incredibly compassionate and didn't make us feel stupid for being so attached to our dog. The vet was kind and respectful and gave us plenty of time to say goodbye.
They aren't perfect but their treatment of my family and I during that really hard time has earned them my loyalty.

My roomate and I have two sibling puppies and our dogs were exposed to Parvo. When my roomate called saying her puppy was sick (mind is too) and thought it was that they got her in ASAP to do the testing. I called right after when we found out it was positive for Parvo to get in but apparently they were too busy and unless I had been there before (I had an appointment for Friday for vaccines) I couldn’t get in to have her checked for Parvo. That there were too many emergencies going on. And she never told me when they could get her in just to go some where else. Yet then the vet called my roomate to let her know she would stay late to check her older dog for Parvo and give him a booster shot. So they are not busy? Or they just only want old costumers to come here bc aparently they don’t care about the dogs well being or if she’s dieing with Parvo they only care if your a returning customer. If I could give 0 stars I would. I think that is extremely rude that they sent my business away and didn’t give a rats ass about her health but then call call my roomate after I got off the phone with them and say the vet wants her other dog to come in and get a booster and checked for Parvo. You lost all business from me.

We have been customers of Parkcrest Vet for several years. Every time we bring a furry baby in to see them, they treat them like their own. Dr Garoutte is our primary veterinarian but we have been seen by the other veterinarians on occasion, and all of them are extremely professional and caring. Dr Garoutte always remembers our pets, regardless of how long it has been since our last appointment, and our dogs are always so excited to see him and the staff. (Our corgi "roo roo"s when Dr Garoutte comes in the room, and "roo roo"s are usually only reserved for myself and my husband... if that tells you anything!) When one of our kitties went missing, I called Parkcrest in a panic to find out about his microchip, and during the call I was on the verge of tears with worry... the wonderful lady on the phone was so caring and reassuring, and she gave me a ton of information including some tips on trying to lure him back home. She put my anxious heart at ease! (Kitty came home eventually :)) So to sum up a very long review... We LOVE Parkcrest, and are customers for life!

Receptionist gave our dog dirty looks. The staff was unprofessional. We came to do a wellness exam for our MASTIFF/LAB mix. He was treated by the staff as some mean big dog. Was told that we need to go and "register" him because he looks like a pit. Told them he is not a pit and they remarked that they are "professional identifiers" whatever in the hell that is supposed to mean. Our dog is a 100 pound teddy bear and they treated him like he was an aggressive dog. Had my wife worried sick when they took him in one room and set her in a room all by herself without telling her what they were doing or why. Well, Parkcrest Vet, I would have you know that we took him to the Springfield Shelter the next day and your "professional identifier's" self-coined term was met with that of an actual city professional and saw our dog and said that it would be absurd to register him because he doesn't look like a pit terrier in the least. I gave it one extra star for the actual Veterinarian (whom might I add was just a temp vet on-call!) that saw him and was extremely nice and professional, unlike the actual Parkcrest Vet staff. On our leave, the receptionist gave more dirty looks to our dog on the way out. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this wretched establishment.

We recently relocated here from the west coast. Our dog was diagnosed with AIHA in April and our vet there was able to save her life. She told us to look for an AAHA accredited practice and we found Parkcrest. I called in advance to find out if they were familiar with treatment for AIHA and I pleasantly received a personal phone call from Dr. Sherman who assured me that any one of the vets on staff could treat our dog. We have since been to Parkcrest for a little over 2 months now and Dr. Sherman has been such a pleasure to work with. She has helped continue our dogs care and is so patient and willing to listen to our concerns and answer all of our questions. We are very happy with the care our dog continues to receive and so happy with Dr.Sherman. The staff are all friendly and helpful and know me by name when I call which is so nice. Your office has a true home town feeling about it which is such a nice change from large vet offices that are impersonal. Thank You Parkcrest and Dr.Sherman for giving Flossie such great care !!!

Best vets in town. I have a lot I could say about Parkcrest, but I'll keep it simple. They care. They will take your phone calls and let you know if you even need to bring your pet in. They take care of your sick/dying animal as if it were their own. I've personally received phone calls at home checking in on one of our cats just to ensure things were going well and to check in on the dosage (after the dr. met with another specialist (for FREE!) to discuss my cats condition. The visits are priced just right and most medications that the cats might need is very affordable and can be bought at Walmart. I trust PVH.

Several people came out from the back and just looked at me and went to the back. Finally after several minutes a girl came out and said "yes", and I told her what I needed. This is the rudest bunch of people I have ever seen! They do this often. I have recently taken my dog back to his original vet (SVC) who are great. Don't take your animals to these people. Parkcrest Animal Hospital sucks!

We love Parkcrest Vet Hospital! More importantly our two dogs do (well one is scared to death to go to the Vet, but he is scared of all Vets). Before finding and selecting a Vet I researched the area DVMs extensively and that is how we found Parkcrest. Dr. Sherman is THE BEST she wins the 417 magazine "best veterinarian award" just about every year for a reason. Extremely knowledgeable, always up to-date on the latest therapies, procedures and information and a very caring staff and Vet Techs. Top notch and professionally run operation at all levels. Maybe you can find cheaper Vets but we would do without something else before we would settle for less than the best for our dogs. Our dogs are literally family members to us and deserve and only get the very best. Parkcrest Vet Hospital is the best so we could not be happier!

I have been with this group for over five years and I can not say how wonderful they have been to myself and my pet family. The care and patience they have given has been more than I ever would have expected. Not to mention they understand the value of customer service and can get you signed in and out quickly without a lot of waiting around. The only reason I didn't give them all five stars is that it is sometimes hard to get into see one of there many wonderful physicians in a short time (24 hrs). Even at that this is a great warm, kind and caring group of people.

we have gone here for years but lately it seems to have gone hill fast. The staff is always rude and unprofessional anytime we call or go in. Over the years we have needed emergency visits, we take them in they look at them and tell it’s nothing or they don’t see anything then charge us an expensive emergency fee. Every time we have had to go back the next day because our pet is worse than the day before, we again get charged the emergency fee and other fees. I can see this happening as pets can’t speak to say what is wrong but every single time and then charge us office visit/emergency visits every single time seems ridiculous. Sometimes after they fail to treat the issue the day before they are too busy the day after to get them in when they know the pet is in pain because they witnessed the shaking, crying, and all that just the day before. We also take our pets in every 6 months for full work ups and shots, we hadn’t not shown up for appointments but when my car broke down on the side of the road in 98 degree heat so I called them to let them know what was going on and that I will probably need to reschedule as I don’t know that I can be on time they got really rude and said if we can’t make it then we won’t be seen again. Then picked up the phone and called my boyfriends sister who isn’t the pet owner or anything to tell her we were failing an appointment but someone needed to have the dogs there at 1. We had already paid for the appointment (almost $2500 for our pets to have physicals, shots, heart worm, flea and tick, etc) and never not showed up and I called as soon as I got off the phone with the tow truck, and that’s what they tell me. I could understand if we missed appointments all the time (us both being in health care we know how it affects the practice when you no show or cancel last minute). I have 2 hungry kids in my car in the middle of July, no shade, the tow truck said it would be about 2 hours and they want to threaten us if we can’t find a way there, horrible. Not sympathetic to families when they lose a pet either, same rude staff as usual. Customer service is horrible and we feel like they’re ripping us off with the not treating our pets so we have to come back.

I take my cat here regularly. He's pretty aggressive and they kind of antagonize him instead of being gentle with him but I can't really blame them too much, he's a lot to handle.
When we put down our nearly 16 year old Schnauzer here, we were all devasted, crying to the point that my mom gave herself a nosebleed. They were incredibly compassionate and didn't make us feel stupid for being so attached to our dog. The vet was kind and respectful and gave us plenty of time to say goodbye.
They aren't perfect but their treatment of my family and I during that really hard time has earned them my loyalty.

My roomate and I have two sibling puppies and our dogs were exposed to Parvo. When my roomate called saying her puppy was sick (mind is too) and thought it was that they got her in ASAP to do the testing. I called right after when we found out it was positive for Parvo to get in but apparently they were too busy and unless I had been there before (I had an appointment for Friday for vaccines) I couldn’t get in to have her checked for Parvo. That there were too many emergencies going on. And she never told me when they could get her in just to go some where else. Yet then the vet called my roomate to let her know she would stay late to check her older dog for Parvo and give him a booster shot. So they are not busy? Or they just only want old costumers to come here bc aparently they don’t care about the dogs well being or if she’s dieing with Parvo they only care if your a returning customer. If I could give 0 stars I would. I think that is extremely rude that they sent my business away and didn’t give a rats ass about her health but then call call my roomate after I got off the phone with them and say the vet wants her other dog to come in and get a booster and checked for Parvo. You lost all business from me.

We have been customers of Parkcrest Vet for several years. Every time we bring a furry baby in to see them, they treat them like their own. Dr Garoutte is our primary veterinarian but we have been seen by the other veterinarians on occasion, and all of them are extremely professional and caring. Dr Garoutte always remembers our pets, regardless of how long it has been since our last appointment, and our dogs are always so excited to see him and the staff. (Our corgi "roo roo"s when Dr Garoutte comes in the room, and "roo roo"s are usually only reserved for myself and my husband... if that tells you anything!) When one of our kitties went missing, I called Parkcrest in a panic to find out about his microchip, and during the call I was on the verge of tears with worry... the wonderful lady on the phone was so caring and reassuring, and she gave me a ton of information including some tips on trying to lure him back home. She put my anxious heart at ease! (Kitty came home eventually :)) So to sum up a very long review... We LOVE Parkcrest, and are customers for life!

Receptionist gave our dog dirty looks. The staff was unprofessional. We came to do a wellness exam for our MASTIFF/LAB mix. He was treated by the staff as some mean big dog. Was told that we need to go and "register" him because he looks like a pit. Told them he is not a pit and they remarked that they are "professional identifiers" whatever in the hell that is supposed to mean. Our dog is a 100 pound teddy bear and they treated him like he was an aggressive dog. Had my wife worried sick when they took him in one room and set her in a room all by herself without telling her what they were doing or why. Well, Parkcrest Vet, I would have you know that we took him to the Springfield Shelter the next day and your "professional identifier's" self-coined term was met with that of an actual city professional and saw our dog and said that it would be absurd to register him because he doesn't look like a pit terrier in the least. I gave it one extra star for the actual Veterinarian (whom might I add was just a temp vet on-call!) that saw him and was extremely nice and professional, unlike the actual Parkcrest Vet staff. On our leave, the receptionist gave more dirty looks to our dog on the way out. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this wretched establishment.

We so much appreciated the doctor that we talked with because she was very sensitive to our needs and feelings, but still upfront and honest with us. She didn't tell us that we had to pay for all of these unnecessary tests, she just told us the truth.

We recently relocated here from the west coast. Our dog was diagnosed with AIHA in April and our vet there was able to save her life. She told us to look for an AAHA accredited practice and we found Parkcrest. I called in advance to find out if they were familiar with treatment for AIHA and I pleasantly received a personal phone call from Dr. Sherman who assured me that any one of the vets on staff could treat our dog. We have since been to Parkcrest for a little over 2 months now and Dr. Sherman has been such a pleasure to work with. She has helped continue our dogs care and is so patient and willing to listen to our concerns and answer all of our questions. We are very happy with the care our dog continues to receive and so happy with Dr.Sherman. The staff are all friendly and helpful and know me by name when I call which is so nice. Your office has a true home town feeling about it which is such a nice change from large vet offices that are impersonal. Thank You Parkcrest and Dr.Sherman for giving Flossie such great care !!!

I have received personal attention regarding my animals problems and solutions when needed. No one person or business is perfect but I feel this clinic does the best to their ability to care for my pets over the years. I highly recommend them for your pet's primary care.

Best vets in town. I have a lot I could say about Parkcrest, but I'll keep it simple. They care. They will take your phone calls and let you know if you even need to bring your pet in. They take care of your sick/dying animal as if it were their own. I've personally received phone calls at home checking in on one of our cats just to ensure things were going well and to check in on the dosage (after the dr. met with another specialist (for FREE!) to discuss my cats condition. The visits are priced just right and most medications that the cats might need is very affordable and can be bought at Walmart. I trust PVH.

Went in today for a heartworm pill. Stood at the counter for 10 minutes. There was one girl there on the phone, she looked at me expressionless (no nod,smile, or acknowledgement). Several people came out from the back and just looked at me and went to the back. Finally after several minutes a girl came out and said "yes", and I told her what I needed. This is the rudest bunch of people I have ever seen! They do this often. I have recently taken my dog back to his original vet (SVC) who are great. Don't take your animals to these people. Parkcrest Animal Hospital sucks!

We love Parkcrest Vet Hospital! More importantly our two dogs do (well one is scared to death to go to the Vet, but he is scared of all Vets). Before finding and selecting a Vet I researched the area DVMs extensively and that is how we found Parkcrest. Dr. Sherman is THE BEST she wins the 417 magazine "best veterinarian award" just about every year for a reason. Extremely knowledgeable, always up to-date on the latest therapies, procedures and information and a very caring staff and Vet Techs. Top notch and professionally run operation at all levels. Maybe you can find cheaper Vets but we would do without something else before we would settle for less than the best for our dogs. Our dogs are literally family members to us and deserve and only get the very best. Parkcrest Vet Hospital is the best so we could not be happier!

He's amazing. The prices are high. If you can afford it it is well worth the extra care you get but if you are trying to stick to a budget you will need a bigger budget here. I have been with this group for over five years and I can not say how wonderful they have been to myself and my pet family. The care and patience they have given has been more than I ever would have expected. Not to mention they understand the value of customer service and can get you signed in and out quickly without a lot of waiting around. The only reason I didn't give them all five stars is that it is sometimes hard to get into see one of there many wonderful physicians in a short time (24 hrs). Even at that this is a great warm, kind and caring group of people.
