Really, Really love this place. Everyone we have met with has been friendly and patient. Our dog isn't the best around other animals and they always go out of their way to schedule him at the best times or usher him straight to a room so that we don't have any issues. They were my cat's vets through her life. She was a very active healthy cat, and they helped make sure she stayed that way. When she got older, she was taking medicine every day. Finally, one morning, I showed up crying. She couldn't walk or lift her head. They tried for 3 days to save her. Finally, they put her down, with us petting her and holding her paw. They even sent us a "sorry for your loss" card. I would wholeheartedly recommend any vet here for your pet at any stage of their life. Read Less

We will not use this facility again to their intentional mutilation of cats. Declawing is not without complication. The rate of complication is relatively high compared with other so-called routine procedures. Complications of this amputation can be excruciating pain, damage to the radial nerve, hemorrhage, bone chips that prevent healing, painful regrowth of deformed claw inside of the paw which is not visible to the eye, and chronic back and joint pain as shoulder, leg and back muscles weaken. Other complications include postoperative hemorrhage, either immediate or following bandage removal is a fairly frequent occurrence, paw ischemia, lameness due to wound infection or footpad laceration, exposure necrosis of the second phalanx, and abscess associated with retention of portions of the third phalanx. Abscess due to regrowth must be treated by surgical removal of the remnant of the third phalanx and wound debridement. During amputation of the distal phalanx, the bone may shatter and cause what is called a sequestrum, which serves as a focus for infection, causing continuous drainage from the toe. This necessitates a second anesthesia and surgery. Abnormal growth of severed nerve ends can also occur, causing long-term, painful sensations in the toes. Infection will occasionally occur when all precautions have been taken. This facility declaws cats. That is the most inhumane thing you can do to your beloved pet. I will not use their services again, and you shouldn't either. "Declawing is actually an amputation of the last joint of your cat's 'toes'. When you envision that, it becomes clear why declawing is not a humane act. It is a painful surgery, with a painful recovery period. And remember that during the time of recuperation from the surgery your cat would still have to use its feet to walk, jump, and scratch in its litter box regardless of the pain it is experiencing."Read Less

Great staff and the Vet was amazing with my pup, But this place STUNK! I get it's a vets office so it's going to smell like animals, but the smell of cat urine was overwhelming and the rooms were dirty. There was a centimeter thick of dust on the walls. I would love to take my dog back here but due to the lack of cleanliness I think I will have to find somewhere else to take him. Read Less

I have been to mulitple vets with my baby Savie, and i can honestly say that this is by far the best in town. The nurses are so nice and they answer all my questions i have (which are alot) i couldnt imagine taking her anywhere else. Read Less

The hospital is truly dated upon initial impression, but the appearance should not fool you. The homey decor and vintage materials convey a sense of ease and familiarity for visitors. The location is practical in many aspects because the concern is for excellent care for your fur baby. My wife and I have been associated with many veterinary services in multiple counties and we have moved all of our furry family members care needs to Saint Charles Animal Hospital. The Doctors and Staff here are the best around!! They are very caring and compassionate when it comes to your pet! They are on top of things and by far the BEST practice around the St. Louis area! The best place ever to take your pet. Dr. Crecelius is awesome and I love watching him and his sweet daughter practicing together. You have taken great care of our Sam and Chico. I highly recommend St. Charles Animal Hospital! Growing up my parents always brought our dogs here and when I got a dog of my own I did too. They can always get me in in a timely manner and their staff is extremely friendly and helpful. We just got back from our annual check up with Dr. Katy Crecelius and she was excellent! St. Charles Animal Hospital is top notch.  I've been bringing my animals here for years and have been nothing but pleased.  The service is always helpful and friendly.  I moved out of St. Charles for a while and still drove my animals here because I love this office so much.  I've been through four feline de-claws, three feline neuters and a feline urinary tract infection plus the regular yearly visits.    I would recommend this vet office to everyone.  I love this office!
