Binder Animal Hospital

We have been taking all of our small pets to Dr. Pisoni @ Binder Animal Hospital for over 20 years. Each of our precious small pets' lives have been lengthened and enriched by Dr. Pisoni's brilliance and expertise. We cannot praise him enough! We have never met any other doctor who respects and treats a teeny mouse or guinea pig as well (and gently) as a dog or cat! Dr. Pisoni has performed many different, very intricate and complicated surgeries on our small pets and they have all survived and thrived! We love Binder Animal Hospital!! A+++++++++++++++!! P.S. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff with fair pricing. Never feel like I'm pushed into buying products and services and they give the benefits and drawbacks of everything like vaccines or declawing. Offers boarding and grooming at low cost. My family has used them for numerous pets over a decade and haven't had one bad experience. Would recommend to anyone looking for excellent care at reasonable costs. Read Less

I researched before going. I went in with a tension headache from worrying about my 6month old guinea pig. She had a head tilt that I wasn't sure wasn't caused from her running into something. Dr. Birkner saw her and he was so good with her. He put me at ease with his knowledge of and ease with my fur baby. I am very grateful for everyone we talk with at Binder Animal Hospital, they all were very friendly. I have pets with a variety of personalities, some happy and some not. They handled the crabby critter very strategically, even when I couldn't seem to manage her (a yowling, biting kitty who still has feral behavior). Test results came back the next morning and everyone is healthy! Read Less

I took our dog, Lacey, there for a skin problem she was having. The facilities were nice, the staff was friendly, and the Dr was great. The Dr. Was friendly, patient, and thorough. We love Binder Animal Hospital. We take all three of our dogs there. They are super nice and always accommodating when we need short-notice appointments. We generally see Dr. Karen Felder and trust her implicitly with the well-bring of our pets. We have one problem child with lots of issues and Dr. Felder is thorough and patient with her. She always explains the treatment options and never tries to force us one way or another in our decisions. I would highly recommend Binder to anyone in SoCo looking for a vet. Read Less

Binder Animal Hospital is the best! The staff are all friendly, nice, and I feel like they genuinely care. Dr. Fielder is awesome, and takes time to answer any and all questions. We first started going to Binder about 2 years ago with our dog Nellie! She was real sick after we adopted her, so Dr. Felder suggested waiting until she was well to finish up with the boosters. After Nellie was well, they failed to follow up with the boosters. Dr. Felder used the excuse that she didn't have all of Nellie's records at the time! Well................she sure wrote in the file that Nellie didn't have all of her boosters (distemper). She assured me that she was up to date on everything for the next year. So we don't understand how she was so negligent. They had the file in front of them. We brought Nellie in the following year only to be told that they were glad she didn't get sick! We were so disappointed!! It seemed like they were always trying to get us to come back in for unnecessary visits & we paid out of the back end for them, BUT negligent on giving the correct boosters when needed. It just got ridiculous. We wanted to keep our animals well, but we were always being told different things by different staff individuals. We now have added another puppy to our family & we hesitated big time on taking him there, BUT we did.......only to find the same thing happening. We were told he needed 1 booster! We arrived there with him & them telling us that he needed 2 other things done! Everyone there tells you different things. Dr. Felder came in to talk to us about it & she explained that not everyone explains everything in the same way!! WHAT?? I explained it 3 times to her & she danced circles around everything I said. She literally cut to pieces the place that we were switching our animals to! For 20 minutes we were respectful & listened to this woman dance circles & bash the hell out of the Humane Society. There's another side to that sweet charm that she pours on you, when taking care of your dog. Finally we had enough, so my daughter told her to stop making comments & finish up with the boosters our puppy needed, because she was p***ing her off! Dr. Felder said that she wasn't going to finish up our puppy's boosters & she walked out!! We got both of our animal's records & left. It was very unprofessional!! Personally I believe she should be reported! This is a lesson learned by us. You have the right to question your veterinarian just like you would your own doctor for the well-being of your animal!Read Less

Had my new Labrador puppy at Binders from the start and they were absolutely wonderful and professional they took the time to explain stuff I didn't understand and didn't mind answering the same questions over and over LOL. Took our 8 year old Bichon Maltese here to get badly needed dental cleaning/ extractions.  They were quick to get us in as I expressed our dog seems uncomfortable and not acting himself.  Several of his teeth were removed and rotten.  After all was said and done, it cost us $675.  OUCH.  They did trim his nails and express his anal glands as a courtesy; but wow.  I'm wary to go back.  They seem like nice vets; but this bill was a major setback for our family. My guinea pigs have been going to see Dr.Prison, at Binder Animal hospital, since the 80's. Not many vets are interested or have a good knowledge of guinea pig needs..especially teeth issues.  Dr K is wonderful with piggies alsoI love the location  and the cleanliness. I visited Binder today and had a very good experience. They got me in right away for what I thought might be an emergency. They were very attentive and explained everything I needed to do very well. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. They also didn't try to take me for all my money, they didn't do any unnecessary tests ect.    Thank you for being awesome. Read Less

I recently adopted a puppy and took him to Binder Animal Hospital for his shots. Everyone there was very friendly and I felt like they were actually interested in the well-being of my dog. The place was also clean which is always a good sign for a vet office. I already scheduled my puppies next appointment, I feel like this will be a good fit. Read Less

I have to say that I've had great experiences with Binder Animal Hospital. I was referred there to see Dr. Pisoni when my dog tore her cruciate ligament. I was nervous going to a new vet when my dog was in such bad shape. Dr. Pisoni was excellent in helping me decide which procedure my dog would benefit from and gave me a great understanding of all the options I had. He genuinely cares about the animals he treats and it shows in the care that was given to my dog. Very knowledgeable and caring staff there also.
