I took my dog Casey there a couple weeks ago. I don't know where to start. We waited over an hour to see anyone. Once in an exam room, he was placed on the table where the vet came in, didn't try to let him, or help ease his anxiety, instead she immediately threw a muzzle on him while the tech held him down. He was of course after this bucking like a bull and foaming at the mouth. She then scolded me for not taking care of a non-cancerous lipoma on his chest. I myself am a nurse and I'm embarrassed I backed into a corner like I did, because I should have stuck up for myself. Instead I took the scolding, along with scolding over his "pupils not being shiny". She then demanded lab work, which she already made me feel like a terrible pet owner, so felt the need to go along with it. I was then told to find back right away to have this lipoma surgically removed. Never once did I have time to ask questions, or did she even take in consideration his age (he's 11). I took him home and talked things over with my spouse. We decided to take him to another vet. The other vet made him feel at ease, never once muzzled him, and he was then diagnosed with metastatic cancer invading his lungs. Unrelated to this lipoma Jefferson Animal Hospital scolded me over and was so quick to want to get him to surgery. He has days left to live, and I'm very sorry he had to endure this horrible treatment. As a nurse I know there are protocols to follow, however, learn some bedside manner. Don't talk to people like they are children.Read Less
