I've honestly never been more disappointed at a health care service than I am at this animal hospital. Trust me when I say, avoid this place at all cost! (You'll be saving your money too) I adopted a 10 wk puppy and I've noticed he's had stool issues. It was extremely soft, then he'd have urges every 2 hours and then the runs. It's been going on for 2 months now. So when it started happening for more than a few days I immediately made a vet appointment (he was also up for a booster vaccine, and I was exhausted with lack of sleep). My first visit was great, everyone was really nice. The vet gave me some medicine to clear his GI and said just to watch his behavior. The medicine was truly night and day, my puppy was having healthy stool and was extremely energetic like a puppy should be. Then once the medicine ran out it went back to how it was before, horrible. I called the hospital and they told me to come in, I came in and the vet tech gave him a shot (in the lobby). They gave my puppy a deworming medicine (he's already been de wormed) and the tech flat out said "the vet isn't sure why he's having GI problems so she wants to cover all her basis". She also gave me EN wet food (a bland diet which when I asked how to transition they said just switch straight to the wet food) they only gave me 5 cans (1.5 cans per day) they said switch to the EN until his stool firms up. Well I'm pretty sure this is my 4th week using it and when he was just on the EN food, he was constipated. I called the vet to describe the change and she wasn't sure why he was reacting that way. I honestly gave up on the vets competency level because I've gone to see her and a tech more than enough for a new puppy yet I've noticed (I've worked in healthcare for years, so it's odd the way they take care of their patients, animals or humans shouldn't matter) they never really asked questions to better understand how my puppy is reacting or behaving to see if it's a behavior / stress issue. Asking how he is outside, if he's eating anything. Asking if he's eating fast, etc. I literally was telling them as much as I could but it was like they didn't want to listen. I was very frustrated, obviously the amount they charge (which they don't tell you until after your visit and before you leave, and if you ask how much they say it depends on your dog and what the vet says), and the quality I got was not equal in my opinion. If I'm spending $100+ for a visit and 5 can foods, not sleeping a whole night (he's still having urges every few hours at night) and the vet "doesn't know what's causing it" well I think it's definitely time to get a new vet. Not to mention, the final booster my puppy needs for the year, the vet gave him shots, and then said "oh yeah he's a healthy puppy" (not remembering his digestive issues) and then before she walked out the door asked me if he was sore after the shots. I still do not understand this. Why would you ask how my puppy reacted to the shot, after you gave him the shot?! If I said yes, or said he had a bad reaction would you have not given him the shot? I also got my puppy groomed here (I got a $20-25 quote from the groomer) and she really got to know my dog. Then when I got him groomed it was $38 ($5 off your first time). The next time I went to the hospital the same groomer that gave me a quote didn't know my dog at all, which I don't take too much, they probably get a lot of dogs in and out but not getting the price I was originally told isn't fair. I'm just extremely disappointed at this facility. They never tell you the pricing (for an initial visit, how much their foods cost, how much is their heartguard medicine, etc) or if they give you a range it isn't correct. They were super nice at first and then after it was like you could tell them your problems and they look away not caring. I cannot fathom why as a vet, when someone is telling you their animal's problem which is causing extreme issues in the owners life (I already know when I'm waking up every night because it's like clockwork and I haven't been able to sleep a full night without having to take him out), knowing the animal is having horrible GI problems, and you just don't bother to look into it more closely, by asking more questions, or seeming to care, then to me, you're clearly not caring of me and my animals need, and I don't want to spend money for mediocre care.
