Just a quick note to say Dr. Levinson deserves commendation for services to my neighbors sick kitty. He took her the day she called. This lady has a senior cat who stopped eating and drinking. She had a mobile vet come out who said get him to a hospital. She went, nobody was able to see inside the cats mouth, the other vet did all blood work, x-rays, ultra sounds and gave her an appetite stimulant pill. Hello!!?? We can't get in the cats mouth!! I referred her to Dr. Levinson who WAS able to see inside the mouth and diagnosed three abscessed teeth. She spent $1100 for these OTHER vets who did not insist on seeing inside the mouth. Dr Levinson has been caring for all of the animals in my family for 30 years or more, since he took over the practice.  He is a great vet and he has always been very professional.  He is also sincere enough than when a problem arises that is beyond the scope of his practice, he does not hesitate to recommend a specialist. The doctor was very rude, judgmental, disrespectful and pretentious. He talked down to me for the entire time during my dog's exam then had the audacity to say "welcome aboard" at the end of the exam, as if I would actually ever go back there to pay for him to talk to me like that again. My husband and I have been taking our various cats (our "kids") here for 27 years. That should be enough said....But I will add that Dr. Levinson, Jackie and Lindell treat us more like family than clients. They are very concerned about the welfare of the animals. He does excellent work with rescue groups and the TNR program, and with their help we housed, cared for and eventually tamed a feral cat that I rescued, and she is now a good house pet. Read Less

We have been taking our dog to Dr. Frank Levinson beginning with our dog's first vet visit three years ago.  Dr. Levinson is warm, friendly, and very forthcoming regarding our dog's health.    For example, he told us that our dog may be prone to a specific ailment later in life, and that we could perhaps reduce the possibility of this ailment by providing our dog with lots of opportunities for exercise.    Advice such as this is very helpful in caring for our dog, and in keeping the costs of his upkeep low.   We feel very fortunate that we have found such a kind, caring veterinarian Read Less

Our cat had health issues that resulted in us, eventually, having to put her down, and Jackie and the doctor were sympathetic, helpful, and understanding every step of the way. They are very caring and he doesn't just lightly assume things - he is very smart and looks and looks for causes and cures. He is very up front which I like. And his staff is wonderful. This veterinary clinic is the worst I've ever been to. I brought my newly rescued puppy in to get checked out and the doctor didn't even touch him, besides to look in his ears. Come to find out he misdiagnosed my puppy saying he had ear mites even though he only had a yeast infection in his ears. Also come to find out that my puppy had whip worms, which would have never been diagnosed or treated if I hadn't gotten a second opinion. This doctor is not thorough and missed something that could have killed my puppy. Don't take your animals here!!! Read Less

I was originally referred to Olivette Veterinarian Clinic from the woman a ran a rescue I found one of my dogs from. 7 years and a second dog later I'm still taking my dogs there for their veterinarian care. I think Dr. Levison and his team are fantastic and are always patient and friendly with even the most rambunctious and unruly animals. One of my dogs is very anxious and gets incredibly nervous any time she gos to the vet (or anywhere in general) and he and his team have ways to calm her down and put her more at ease. One of the HUGE benefits to this clinic is that Dr. Levison makes himself available via pager on weekends and outside of office hours. There have been numerous times when I've had questions or concerns about something going on with one of my pets and his emergency line has saved me a costly trip to the Emergency Animal Hospital. I used to live in University City and when I found Dr. Levinson I was very grateful. He has been taking care of this big girl and her little brother for the last 4 years. I would give him a million stars if I could. I gave four because sometimes the office staff coordinator leaves something to be desires... Nonetheless I have since moved from U city but I still make the drive all the way to Olivette just to see him. He really is the most caring vet I've ever met. Both of my dogs love going here; I'm convinced they know they are in good hands! Dr. Levinson has made special trips outside of his normal hours for my multiple emergencies and has always been nothing short of patient and calm with both my dogs and myself. Jackie is always in the room to assist Dr. Levinson and my dogs just adore her. She really makes my dogs feel comfortable.
