Dr. Diesel and his staff are top notch. I trust Dr. Diesel to provide the best care for both of our dogs as he is kind, helpful, knowledgeable, and patient. I've been to other local vets that are basically pushing you out the door after 5 minutes, but Dr. Diesel always takes the time to answer any questions you have. He helped us years ago with my dog's chronic allergy issues by doing allergy testing and following with a series of allergy shots; they worked amazingly after we tried everything! Prices are fair but not the cheapest compared to the bigger vets in town because they're a family owned place. But I'd pay a little more for the high level of service we receive there! I have been going to Yorkshire since I was a kid and now as an adult with a dog of my own I will keep on going there. They are wonderful they treated my frenchie like royalty and the customer service is outstanding! Unfortunately they misdiagnosed my dog. They missed an ACL rupture. I took her to a second ER and then a third one to have the surgery since the 2nd one didn't do surgery and I couldn't trust Yorkshire to preform the surgery if they screwed up the diagnosis in the first place. I've owned cats for 37 years between California and St. Louis so have been to a variety of vets for my multiple kitty kats.... and Dr. Diesel and his staff at Yorkshire are like the old-fashioned medical doctor that truly take the time with their clients and our pets.  He is kind, informative and he truly loves the pets we all bring through the door. When he touches the sick pets, they just seem to calm down and allow him to do what he needs to do. No doubt pets sense he is their pal that wants to make them better.  He takes the time to explain the pets maladies and answer questions, unlike some other vets I've been too.  Some vets just want to do way too many procedures just to make more money, but not Dr. Diesel.... he explains the options and pros and cons.  The place has the feel of a country doctor, homey and pet friendly.  Staff is efficient and also like the pets we bring in. The prices are fair and decent.  They also have a sweet, comforting little "good by pet" room when it's time for your pet to go to pet heaven...they let you spend some time and say your good byes with pet before the transition.... so much better than having your pet euthanized on a cold steel table. I rescued a puppy last week, and one week after him being in our home he started getting diarrhea, vomiting and no appetite. I called Yorkshire Animal Hopsital and they got him in that day. We initially thought Parvo, but after testing they determined he had an excess of bacteria in his stool and started him on antibiotics and fluids. They called me and explained everything and answered all questions I had. The staff was very friendly and knowledgable. They are goo to keep him over night and send him home on antibiotics once they feel he can actually hold food down. They went ahead and gave him another deworming treatment as well because he was due. After all of this, the bill was VERY reasonable. I am very impressed and thoroughly grateful for everything. Just moved from Cape Girardeau where I had an awesome vet so standards were set high when I moved into St. Louis. The plusses: Staff is (usually) friendly, prices are good, and there usually isn't a big wait. The negatives: Pulled all but 3 of  my dog's teeth without consulting me. I left the practice because of this. The receptionist I talked to after this occurred was rude and condescending. Read Less

We first went to Yorkshire because it was within walking distance of our apartment. We had rescued a kitten with a bad eye infection and he needed pretty extensive treatment and monitoring for those first few weeks we had him. We loved the staff at Yorkshire and they fell in love with our cat just as quickly. We've been spending a lot of time at the hospital lately for laser treatments for our cat's gum disease and the treatments have worked well, are affordable, and both Dr. Diesel and the staff have been great about informing us about his progress. this is the first vet i have ever taken my animals to and actually felt as though they are being taken care of. Dr.D and Dr.Z are awesome and i will be bringing my animals there for a very long time....what i like most about them is the clinic does not have a bad odor and as far as i can tell they know and remember ALL of their clinents and trust me there is alot or them!...and what is even better is when you come in there they love on your animal just as you would (they might love on them to much sometimes...lol). they are a great vet to take your pet to!!!
