We had a medical emergency today with our dog Moose. After being told by our regular Veterinary Clinic that they were just too busy, my boyfriend took her to Moore Lane Veterinary Clinic. We did not call ahead. He was met at the door immediately. They took Moose from his arms and back to the treatment area. The care and compassion shown by everybody was incredible. That includes the lady's at the front desk. Special acknowledgement to Dr Randy, (we don't know his surname as he said to call him Randy) and Sierra. Thank you is not enough. Moose just could not have had better care. I will continue to use Moore Lane Veterinary Hospital for all of my animals medical needs. I strongly recommend them to everyone. Read Less

I have always found the Veterinarians to be so compassionate, taking the time to explain everything to me and answer my questions. I have found the same compassion with the technicians and staff. I figured i needed to warn people about this place. I went there a while ago with my guinea pigs. They told me a rough price for seeing them, which I agreed to. They did not tell me the prices of anything else as we went along with the appointment, or that my pigs were beyond help. I went to check out, and my bill was almost $400 to see 2 guinea pigs and antibiotics! My sick pig ended up dying a few hours later, which isn't their fault, but I wish the vet would have just told me that he was beyond help. The front desk receptionist proceeded to yell "SHE CAN'T AFFORD IT, WHAT DO I DO?" to all the other receptionists, and embarrassed me to no end as everyone else is the lobby was listening as well. I paid, and left in tears. I will NEVER give them our business again. EXTREMELY poor customer service, and I knew more about my guinea pigs health than the veterinarian. Read Less

I'm not one to write reviews. This is actually my first one. But the level of absolute incompetance from this establishment is astonishing. We've been a customer for 5+ years and every time we go there for anything other then a routine check up i sincerely question their ability to diagnosis my pet correctly. They have some good techs and doctors who care about animals but as a whole the atmosphere is inexperienced, and unprofessional. (Yes, we can hear you gossiping behind the paper thin doors in the exam room about our animal.) But if you have routine check ups or want them to tell you expensive surgery and handfuls of medications is the first and only method of treatment they are a great place to go. But in the end I have only to blame myself for being lazy and not changing veterinarians sooner. BEWARE of this establishment. If I could give this place a -500, I would. My roommate brought her dog in Yesterday morning, April 14th, to get spayed and when she picked her up this morning she was covered in poop and hadn't been fed. She called Moore lane and they transferred her over to a different line because "feeding and cleaning up after an animal after they had a surgery, wasn't their responsibility". SHE WAS THERE FOR OVER 24 HOURS. SHE'S GOING TO HAVE TO USE THE BATHROOM AND BE FED. She didn't spend $641 to have her dog treated like this. That Is not okay. I'd give them a -25 if I could!!!! Greedy, money grubbing, heartless business! I had my dog in for surgery at the beginning of the year to get 2-3 teeth pulled. They pulled 15 teeth! I was NEVER given an estimate on this work whatsoever. They told my wife $300-500 for the few teeth she'd have pulled. We should've gotten that in writing. So much to my dismay they told me that it would be over $1,000 to take her home once I got there. They were kind enough, that's being generous, to let us set up payments. We put $500 down. After that we came back for a post check-up and my dog was fine. She had more pep in her step like she did when she was a pup. I let my bad feelings go. My dog is worth more than money to me, so I thought, well I'll get it paid off and we'll be good. I left town on January 27th and my dog got really sick on the night of January 28th. I feel having to pay for an office visit of $50 is ludicrous, then to be told they wanted to do blood work and x-rays totaling $500 is asinine. That was to even determine what may be wrong with my dog. My wife was sobbing and said I can't afford that. We quite literally less than 3 weeks ago were taken by surprise when our last vet bill was $500+ more than we expected. Now you're telling me we have to shell out more money? You're not even overly concerned for my dog, you're more concerned with the money?! They wouldn't even work with us to do a payment plan. We could've put some money down in good faith, but that wasn't even an option. My wife sadly took our dog home to see if she could help our dog. Our dog actually got worse, but they did give us some donated medications to try out. I tried to be positive and say that my dog just has pancreatitis which she's had before. She's also rebounded as well from that, with medication of course. My wife had to take her in again that Friday once we got paid, which was 4 days after the first visit since she got sick. So that way we could get the X-Rays done at least. Mind you, my dog has been puking, peeing uncontrollably, not eating, but they wanted money before they could do anything for her. When my wife took her in, the said they'd recommend having her do x-rays, blood work, a hospital stay and see if they can stabilize her. She got an estimate for $1,500 dollars, oh I forgot to mention, they'd do 2 examinations while she was there too. I'm not even sure why it should cost that much?! Ultimately I was forced to make the decision to put my beloved dog down and I wasn't even in town for this. My heart was broken, but more importantly my heart breaks for her, because they wouldn't help her. Not to mention, I felt helpless, because I couldn't help her! They put a price on her life. They were more concerned about the payment than anything else. Everyone I've talked to has had the same experience here as far as the money situation goes and the charges for their services. Would a hospital do this to a person?! Well you have to pay up front before we do anything for you. HELL NO, they wouldn't do that, it's inhumane!!! I went to pick up her ashes, which they charged $250 for and my wife paid for they day we put her down and they had the audacity to tell me we still owed them money for it, but they were "kind" enough to put it on our payment plan from her 1st surgery. So, you're telling me now that my dog is gone, you'll gladly put the cremation fee on my past bill, but you wouldn't set up a payment plan to see if she could be saved?! This is why I say they are heartless, money grubbing, inhumane and downright awful. I will never take another of my animals to this business ever again. BEWARE to all others that feel their pets are like family. They see dollar signs and only want to help if it's lucrative to them. I'm a positive person, but in this situation and with this business they've made me feel negative and heartbroken. Read Less

We were in Billings for the night on a cross country move when our cat developed a terrible UTI. We called and were seen immediately. We were in and out with excellent service from both the tech and the doctor within an hour. If you're a local, you should make these folks your primary care for your fur babies. Read Less

We just moved here from Tucson and we worried about finding a good place here but we brought both of our boxer babies here this morning and we were so happy with the care and love the staff gave them! Mike (the technician) was so great with them and really knew his stuff and was very thorough, also made our babies very comfortable. So happy and will definitely be back! Read Less

My husband and I were traveling through Billings, when our dog developed pneumonia. Our first contact was with Dr. Leonard, then Dr. Huck and then Dr. Young. They were all so amazing. I have taken my dog, cats and rabbits here for checkups, boarding, and shots. They worked very well with all the pets, especially with my dog who isn't used to the vet. He isn't mean or anything and he doesn't bite. He just is very playful and refused to wear a muzzle for some reason or another. But overall, he did ok. They have been very professional but with one exception. The time I took my dog there for a checkup and shots, all the staff were professional, except an old lady receptionist who just out of the blue, asked if my dog was a Rez dog or if I knew where he came from. That was insulting. Obviously he's not if my family and I live in the city with my address on file. We've had him for 2 years and got him in Lockwood, Montana when he was only one years old. So that's not the reservation, is it? I'll still come here for services but don't hire people who ask dumb irrelevant questions. Read Less

Finding a vet that's the right fit is a difficult job. I've tried several over the years, and I'm happy to have found just what I needed with Moore Lane. The front staff are always friendly and lovely to deal with. Dr. Jill Houk is one of the best vets I've ever had. She's kind, compassionate, and knowledgeable. During some of my dogs worst days, these wonderful people took great care of both she and I. My 12 year old dog had gastric dilation and partial torsion (a condition which, if worsened, can kill a dog within only a few hours). They took prompt care of her allowing us to see how immediately she might need the corrective surgery. They were forthcoming with all information and prognoses throughout the 24 hours during which we were deciding if she could survive without surgery. These decisions were difficult, especially given my dogs advanced age, and multiple times throughout this process the vets told me, "If this were my dog, this is what I would do..." which really helped me feel like they had her best interests at heart. They let me visit at any hour during the 3 days she was with them, and it was clear that they loved her almost as much as I do. They called multiple times a day with updates and were gracious when I called multiple times a day to check on my dog. Thankfully, she has come home now and seems to be doing well after a very invasive stomach surgery. I am so grateful for the care she (and I) got at Moore Lane. I will absolutely go back to them, and recommend them highly for ANY (emergent or otherwise) care.Read Less
