GET A SECOND OPINION!!!! The Bellevue front desk staff were very nice and personable. The nurse we had was very standoffish and rude. She clearly had a greater than thou attitude and apparently doesn’t like pinch collars even if they are used properly. I have a Great Dane mix who can be aggressive towards other dogs; we use a pinch collar only when we know we will be around other dogs or where our dog will be possibly excited. She seemed very judgmental. Apparently, Scooby didn’t like her either, he raised his teeth and tried to bite her. He’s never done that to anyone. I know he was in pain but he didn’t have the same reaction to others. The doctor was knowledgeable but in my opinion gave very bias advice in regard to treatment and did not provide us with all of our options. We took Scooby in for a medical emergency because we suspected he had GDV (bloated/twisted stomach). The doctor confirmed with X-rays that he did have GDV and we could either EUTHANIZE him or take him to VCA Midwest Emergency Hospital. She called and confirmed it would cost $5000-$7000 for the procedure. I asked her about payment options and although she did suggest the Care Credit Card which was beneficial she acted as though our only option for treatment was EUTHANIZE or VCA Emergency Medical. My co-workers have had a terrible experiences at VCA and told me prior that they are horribly overpriced. I asked the doctor, if Urgent Pet Care could be an option, based on my co-workers saying they’ve had great experiences and paid a fraction of the costs for their pet emergencies. The doctor consoled my wife but acted as though Urgent Pet Care was not an option or could provide him what he needed. We left debating on what to do for his care, I had my kids say their goodbyes just in case things didn’t work out with the procedure. We were prepared to pay the $5000-$7000 but I frantically made calls to my co-workers who are avid dog lovers and my wife called a client who is a vet and they all suggested Urgent Pet Care would be a great place to go despite what we were told. We decided to go to Urgent Pet Care. The staff there was extremely friendly, Scooby loved the staff as well. Scooby received his life saving surgery and is expected to fully recover. They provided an invoice of $2734!!! I am livid about not being given all the options at Bellevue Animal Hospital. It’s truly a shame. What if we would’ve been unable to pay for his procedure and been forced to prematurely kill our beloved Scooby? Tonight was very eye opening, we will be getting pet insurance for future emergencies. They took care of my last pup during his last days following diagnosis of severe cancer, and helped him remain comfortable until he passed away, asleep in his bed. Truly compassionate people, and now caring for my new service dog. I won't take any of my critters anywhere else. My dog had an emergency and it was an icy day, so I didn't want to drive to Millard where my vet is to have him checked. Bellevue Animal Hospital got us right in. Checked him all out gave him some meds and we were on our way. It was a bit more expensive than my vet would have been, but it was an emergency and it took awhile, but all in all it was good. A 35 year relationship with BAH came to an end today. Dr. Boyd and Dr. Campbell were wonderful to our four-legged family members. However single event today has ended that 35 year relationship that was extended through one of my children and her four-legged family members. I referred to the situation as a "sad day." It was a day that should not have happened. Customer Service begins at the front desk. Breakdowns there are usually a function of a sub-par job training program. If this is a problem with BAH, UNO College of Business, through NBDC, has an excellent program that can train employees how to handle most any situation. Read Less

I have seen a few different vet's, assistant's, and even front desk people. Every single person has cared and listened completely to every "concern" I had. They reassured me with every treatment option to ensure my pet's best outcome! I would recommend them for all animal concerns! Both my dog and bearded dragon have been seen! I have been going to the Bellevue animal hospital since 2002 we have taken several animals Papillion and labrador retriever hound dog beagle golden retrievers and now my goldendoodle Skyler my whole family has their animals go there I also have two cats Leo and Lily they have received nothing but the upmost excellent care there there was a time where I left the Bellevue animal hospital with Lexi Lynn my Labrador retriever but we thought we would try another veterinarian be...cause they offered Health plans well needless to say they did not do the thorough examination is that they should've and I lost my precious Lexi Lynn but when she got really sick I called Dr. Pfeiffer and even though I had taken her out of the hospital she help me I cannot express the appreciation that she given me and did not turn us away but it was too late we could not save her been taking Skyler every since she's been eight weeks she is now 19 months Fourth of July weekend somebody pyt food and an open garbage cans my little Skyler got into it she ate a corn cob and it got stuck in her I called them they immediately got her in and now she is resting comfortably and doing fine after the surgery they have called me several times to keep me updated every body shows love and compassion and consideration at this hospital I will always recommend them and they will always be a five star in my book they have helped us through losses and all the other crazy things that go along with animals all my animals and my children animals will always go there so we give them five stars thank you to the whole staff and to Dr. Pfeiffer Dr. Grant and all the other doctors that have stepped in to help they are truly the best...😽🐶 See More Read Less

For someone who just lost a pet, this place did not make it any easier! I took my dobie in to be cremated, paid almost $200, was asked if I wanted his name engraved on his box that would contain his ashes, I said yes, only to pick up my dogs ashes a week and a half later in a cardboard box! You guys have awesomely helped Mr Bobo go almost 2 full years without seizures! I am forever great full he's not still have 4 to 5 grand mauls every 8 to 10 days anymore! And Buhda is happy his fur brother is more playful and energetic again the last few years as well. Dr Boyer who sadly is no longer there got Mr Bobo on the right track and after she left to relocate with family Dr Grant has continued with the excellent service that I have come to expect from them in the 2 1/2 years we have been going there. On Saturday, we had to say good bye to our sweet Champ. Dr. Grant and the staff were wonderful and comforting and made this difficult day bearable. It was a very tough decision for us to euthanize our sick little guy. Dr. Grant was always just a phone call away to patiently address all my questions and concerns with her calm and caring demenor. I appreciate her and Bellevue Animal Hospital for all they have done. Just today, we went in to pick out an Urne and despite a very busy office, were given the time and attention by a sweet care specialist (I regret not getting her name) to make our choice. I've had the luxury of traveling the entire United States for more than 25 years and have had both the displeasure as well as pleasure of knowing a few vets. It's a rare occurrence when you fine a doctor for your pet that understands the impact that pet has to your family. While everyone at Bellevue Animal Hospital is awesome, there are two specific vets that had a "huge and positive" impact to my family and our furry family members. I lived a horrific travesty with the illness of one of my pets, and both Dr. Truax and Dr. Grant were there with us all the way till the end. I can't express how much I respect these two people and how much I trust the lives of my pets in their care. If you or a family member becomes ill, do you take your family member to the corner clinic? Or do you want your family to see a doctor who will do whatever it takes to make them get better? There are no words to say of how amazing the whole staff is! They really do, all that they can! It means the world to my family and I, esp. when we bring our 3 very large breeds in that they are greeted with so much love. Our Newfoundland is currently going through Chemo and Dr. T is really going above and beyond to answer and talk through all questions and concerns. We never feel rushed on time he will sit and talk through it all before we leave. Their Emergency policy for loyal customers is to tell you, "sorry we are booked." My fur baby died because I was turned away and instead of receiving help in the 15 minutes it would take me to drive there she died 90 minutes later as I walked through the doors of a vet office I was not familiar with. I transferred my remaining babies out of this office and will never set foot in there again.Read Less

When I first got my 2 cats, Callie and Midnight, I wanted a Vet that was close by and found Bellevue Animal Hospital. My main concern was the health of my girls and when I brought them in, the staff was great with them. I now have 2 additions from Midnight and they were treated with the same love and care as Callie and Midnight.
