Have oral needs for your pet. Go to Twin Creek Animal Hospital and see Dr. Erich Rachwitz. Here is why! A couple of weeks ago, Cash was in Tami's lap staring at her with his mouth open...as always. Tami saw a lump in the gum tissue of Cash's mouth, next to a tooth. Anyway, after a trip to Ralston Vet, a visit with Dr. Barry, and a biopsy, we found out that he had Acanthomatous Ameloblastoma. It is a form of cancer that stays local and attacks the area and bone. Since it spreads locally, and does not attack the other organs, it is technically classified as benign because of this. The only treatment was invasive surgery. Luckily, we were referred to Dr. Rachwitz instead of traveling. After doing my research on Dr. Erich and the hospital, we set up a consultation. Within 5 minutes into our consultation, we knew Cash was in GREAT hands with Dr. Erich. After our consultation, we were told Cash would likely have to have an entire section of one side of his lower jaw removed, leaving a back section and front section, connected only be muscle and tissue. Success rate is high and normal quality of life was high as well. He did the surgery (3 hrs) and was able to save the lower part of his entire jaw bone, so we were ecstatic. The surgery was extremely invasive, peeling back the gum to get to the jaw bone, remove the section of jaw bone and affected gum, then sewing it back. (He showed me pictures taken during the procedures) In talking to him, I found out that he is the go-to guy for the majority of police K9's for broken teeth. He has capped many teeth and other treatments. If Dr. Erich is good enough for a police K9, isn't he good enough for your dog...plus he gets a huge stamp of approval from me. If anyone knows me, you know that I don't put my stamp of approval on much!Read Less
