My Wife and I were traveling with our 3 dogs when our oldest dog, Pete, suddenly took ill. We had adopted Pete almost 2 years ago, and knew he had cancer when we adopted him, but were shocked at the rapid decline he made practically overnight. By morning he was refusing food, very thirsty, could not rise unassisted and could walk only a few steps and then would pant terribly. I phoned Pitts clinic and made an appointment for the evening @ 815 so as to have time with Pete after work. Shana was very kind and understanding and made the appointment with only a few questions, as it was hard for me to speak given the circumstances. By the time I came back from work, my wife said that we needed to move the appt up as soon as we could, because Petes breathing was labored and it was apparent he was in distress. Again, the staff took my call and assured me that although they couldn't give me an appointment, that I could bring Pete in asap and they would work us in. The staff and Dr. Terry were very kind in our hour of need. Dr. Terry commended us for giving Pete 2 wonderful years with the cancer and reassurance that we were doing a kindness for Pete. If I lived in Lincoln, this would be my vet for all my fur-kids. I am amazed at the hours they keep, very valuable to the community to do that, most practices cannot keep those hours and would charge extra for after hours after 5 or 6 pm. Thank you so very much and God bless you in your work! Very loving, compassionate and empathetic staff! Read Less
